The newest English installment to hit the United States, Harvest Moon DS mixes the settings and great things of A Wonderful Life and Friends of Mineral Town, putting it all together into one game! But watch out, this is no walk in the park! You have to build all your buildings from scratch! But now, you get more then just barns.. new innovative features like the Mushroom House make this game full of surprises.
Don't forget the many brides to choose from! Not only do we have the three brides from A Wonderful Life, Celia, Muffy, and Nami, now we have Lumina and Flora, too! The Mineral Town girls can be courted, too, but marry them and the game will end. You can also wed the Harvest Goddess, her rival the Witch Princess, a "Little Mermaid," and even a Divine Priestess in an enchanted sleep, burried deep within the mines!

STORY A young woman known as the Witch Princess has an ongoing rivalry with The Harvest Goddess. The two often spar, with a pretty even amount of winning and losing, but the Witch Princess gets sick of it! One day, she decides to cast a new sort of spell on the Harvest Goddess, to make sure she can never say that annoying "Tadaa!" catch phrase again. Unfortunately, the spell misfires, and she turns the Harvest Goddess to stone! In the confusion afterward, she tries another spell to undo this, and accidently makes the Harvest Goddess disappear! The Witch Princess decides it's a good idea to cast this on all of the Harvest Sprites, as well, hoping they'll find the Harvest Goddess and bring her back, because the Witch Princess' "life will be boring" if the Harvest Goddess doesn't return. Who will she make mischief on? The Witch Princess turns to you-- Jack-- and informs you it's up to you to bring the Sprites back, because only you can do it! (Why? No idea.) You will farm crops, raise animals, explore Forget-Me-Not Valley, make friends, find a bride.. and somehow all of this will bring the Harvest Goddess back, so get crackin'!

GLITCHES Sadly, our beloved Harvest Moon DS is not without fault. sad Here a list of some of the glitches and errors in the game. crying The Ghost Town Glitch--All the doors in town are locked, nobody comes outside, and you are the only person in town--EVER. eek This has been happening a lot when people start up new files, but I've heard some people have activated it in the middle of the game as well. xp The Leia Title Screen Glitch--Basically, the game glitches at the title screen and renders several sprites of Leia the mermaid over the other characters. Resetting the game fixes this. 3nodding Edit: Some have also reported seeing the Harvest Goddess in this glitch. Also, here's a pic:  Freezing Glitches--While the saving methods may help prepare you for freezes, it cannot stop them from happening. Freezes happen at random and can happen at any time, but I've noticed I've experienced them when I've been playing nonstop for extended periods of time. 3nodding The Million/Billion G Glitch--Self explanatory I would think, this glitch gives you an obscene amount of money out of nowhere. To me, this doesn't sound like a bad thing ( xd ) but for purists who want to earn everything by the fruits of their labors (like me xd ), this is a cumbersome glitch. As far as I know, this occurs randomly and there isn't any way to definitely trigger this, but I've heard lots of people have triggered it in Winter. Update: Apparently, there is a guaranteed way to trigger it. NOTE: I don't condone cheating, but if you want to do so, here's how (whited out for those who don't want to see): --Hire the Fishing Team to fish at the Beach in Winter.
--It will reward you with a random number of G, possibly 1 Billion.
--It may take a couple of days to unlock it. ninja The File Corruption--Pretty self-explanatory, ne? Put simply, your file corrupts and won't load. xp Saving one file in both slots helps keep your data safe. The Winter Weed Glitch--This one is caused when you're a careless, cheap farmer. xd If you build your buildings out of Fodder, they have a tendancy to fall down without a moment's notice. When it does, it leaves weeds all over the ground where the building used to be. Here's the problem: in Winter, weeds aren't supposed to be there. So when your Fodder Barn collapses in Winter and tries to render Weeds, it makes the game freak out. There are glitched squares where the weeds are supposed to be, and if you try to approach the area, the game freezes. The only rememdy I can see for this glitch is to simply not make your buildings out of fodder. xd NOTE: Due to bugs in the English version of Harvest Moon DS, you CANNOT marry the Harvest Goddess OR the Witch Princess. HELPFUL TIPS TO PREVENT GLITCHES Here are some tips and tricks I have devised to help keep some of the glitching woes at bay. 3nodding 1. Save your file in both save slots. This will help you if one of them corrupts. 2. Don't build anything you plan to keep for an extended period of time out of Fodder. Fodder buildings and their collapsing in Winter have been the source of major glitch complaints within the Harvest Moon DS community. It's my suggestion to build everything out of Stone, but if that's too pricey for you Lumber is good too, just be careful about storms. 3. Save multiple times during the day. (For example, maybe in the morning, at noon, at 6 PM, and then right before you go to bed.) This will protect you in case your game freezes and you have to reload. 4. DON'T THROW WEEDS ON THE GROUND. This is considered littering and will make everyone but the Witch Princess hate you. 5. Do the Save/Reload trick to eliminate Typhoons and Snowstorms. This has been in Harvest Moon games since the days of GBC 3. Basically, whenever you wake up in the morning, the weather forecast is randomized. But if you get a forecast you don't want, there's a way to get around it. The old way used to be to hire the carpenter to come build something for you and then cancel, but here's the new method: Step 1: Save the night before, right before you go to bed. Step 2: Go to bed. Step 3: Wake up. Check the weather. Step 4: If the weather is unfavorable, reload and try again. This also works well with trying to get it to rain on a certain day (which comes in handy for some Heart Events that require rainy days). NOTE: While these will help prevent several glitches caused by ingame actions, there are some glitches that cannot be avoided.

I think I read that due to some problems, most of the special girls are unable to be married with you. D: I think only Leia can be the one married, and maybe Keria. You couldn't marry the Witch Princess because it seems the game doesn't count the amount of animals you kill, well, at least that is what I heard...

And you kind of need that scene to happen, because it's her Black Heart Event. sweatdrop EDIT: I got it to activate, finally. heart I kept trying to walk up to the door, and one day I tried it, and it worked. whee So false alarm. xd ninja

I never got the scene but I was able to just enter that door after 100+ FP with Daryl. crying ;;
