First off, this is the first time in a long while I'm posting here in this forum. Anyway, I was wanting to ask of some advice, regarding having a relationship with God.

Right now, I'm at an all-time low. I've got a very, very messed up life. I'm Christian and I'm born again, but I just can't seem to communicate with God. I feel like I'm not talking/praying to him in the right way.

I just don't know how to talk to him. I've been told that if people have flawed perspectives of God, then they will not truly know how to receive his blessings or have a relationship with him. With my problems in life right now, I feel like I don't have what it takes to view God in the right way and talk to him the way I should be. I pray to God often, and tell him about all of my problems, then eventually I break down.

I can't seem to talk to God about my problems without crying or being emotionally overwhelmed. And I'm never like this around anyone else.

I'm so confused... Any advice, thoughts, or suggestions? I appreciate it, thanks. <3

Sadly being a Christian isn't always accompanied by a fluffy feeling, study the text, avoid as much idolatry as you can and do as much volunteer work or other forms of service to God as you can. If you remain steadfast through any trial you will be blessed for it and of course you may just be depressed if it continues to get worse you may want to see a professional about receiving treatment.

Honestly, there is no right or wrong way to pray. God doesn't want us spewing out prayers that we hear other people. Sometimes, I'll be like "God, you're the coolest thing ever." Not exactly your 'conventional' prayer. Other times, it's 'God, I just really need your help. Know why? Because my life sucks." Or I'll tell Him how frustrated I am with Him. Stuff like that. But I sometimes I end up like a blubbering child as well. I think it's a good thing to be able to cry infront of God. I mean, he's here to be a friend, not a judge or a dictator. He actually cares...and sometimes just letting it all out is the best thing. I'm not one to let it all out infront of all my friends, but with God, I've become to get comfortable. Eveything takes time, though, and I do agree that the 'fluffy' feelings we expect aren't going to come through one session with God. He wants time and committment.

i know how you feel. last year, i messed up and shut God out of my life completely. last year my cousin got into a car accident and died. i loved my cousin and i didnt want to let him go. i still wanted to talk to him. so i started to practice witchcraft, hoping to eventually perform a seance or use a ouija board and finally talk to him. then my friend said that the only way that witchcraft would work was if i would renounce God. so i did. but eventually i felt so guilty that i gave up witchcraft to follow God yet again. i felt horrible talking to God. but i realized that God forgives everything we do if we ask Him to forgive us.

i can understand how you feel. sometimes i feel as though i'm distanceing myself from God and that i'm not really communicating with him as well as i should be. but really i find that we can come to him in whatever form we are and with our struggles and tell him about them. there isn't really a right way to talk to him. he likes us to talk to him as if we were talking to anybody else. but part of it is that doing a daily quiet time can help b/c it gets you into his word and when you dive into the Bible and read and seek God through your reading, then you'll learn how to see God for who he really is. it is not an instant thing and requires a lot of work on our part but if we remain faithful to God then we'll pull through. our growing closer to God is a lifelong process that everybody goes through. but if we honestly seek to know who he is then he will be faithful to us and draw closer to us as well, and with that we'll learn who he is and more of what it is he has for us.

Wow lol, I feel like that many times! believe me. I'm not that old or experienced...but that could b like a test that GOd is putting you to go through,

We were ment to live a life of Christ and we suffer a lot.
If I were you, just keep on praying and soon enough he'll send you the help and answer you need.

Just keep your faith in him.

lol there are different ways to pray, but we all have to end in the name of Jesus. er... like prayer is really important though, lots of people pray in different ways. that isnt bad or good because God has no limits, pray to him for hours. he will listen. just pray with faith, in spirit, and with the love for God.

You might feel like because tons of issuses are coming up in your life that even if you are praying God is not compiling them and listening. Don't be afraid to try to have a proper relationship with God. He's there for you all the time. You might feel like crying because you may feel someway or emotionally break down but he's there. He'll comfort you when you need it most. Try and read Matthew and the book of John! It talks about his love for you. Keep your chin up and keep praying.....God will help in his time. I promise this.

Could you be more specific about the problems you're dealing with?

I suggest if there are things taking u away from God then you should remove them. I was taught to think of those things that make it so u cant see God or hear him clearly as stones.. and you wont be able to move any farter in your walk with him untill you remove them. Christians who believe the bible is 100% true have to know that they cant be luke warm. You are eather living for God or living for the world and you have to choose because luke warm christians say one thing and do another and are completely pointless and wont inherit the kingdom of God, so says the bible.

It's ok... God is your heavenly father... He wants to comfort you... I know how you feel. God loves you He doesn't care if you cry when you pray. He wants to know how you're feeling like a father does.
