just practice, practrice, practice......I never understood it when my dad said "Just set the guitar part on automatic and sing" but it makes sense to me now.

I still cant do it, except with only the most basic of strumming patterns. Which basically means im ******** when it comes to singing the metal songs i write.

well, i dont do it much because i'm not much of a singer but i guess if u practice, u'll be able to do it sooner or later. make sure u know both parts rly well before u put them together

i can do them both so i will tell you how i did it... what you do is hum the words while you play the first time until your used to it then try and sing some of the words.. not all just some.. then sing them all and thats how i did it... just take your time and do that.. let me know how it works

I have the same problem. Singing and playing at the same time is difficult. Actually, that's why Gerard doesn't play guitar in My Chemical Romance. He knows how to play, but not sing at the same time. Anyway, I guess you could try playing and humming at the same time first. But practice is the most effective way. Good luck with it.

it really isn't too difficult if you know what you're doing

I can sing and play but my voice doesn't sound like a singing type of voice which is what I'd prefer as opposed to screaming.

i can only sing and play nirvana songs XP it just takes a lot of practice
