Does anyone else hate all the changes that they keep making to the site. It's all aimed at making it easier for the noobs. First they started to make it harder to make gold but they started giving away free stuff. Now they still give away free stuff but they made it easier to make gold. and the gold earning system seems completely backwards to me. You start by making a lot of gold and then it goes down? That's stupid! It aims at the convenience of people who only want to come on for twenty minutes and then log off but they still want to look cool during those twenty minutes. We all worked hard to get the things that we have. Questing, polling, bumping, whatever. We all put in the time and the effort to get the cool looking avatars we have today. I think that should turn the gold system around instead of earning less the longer you do something you should earn more. right now you can bump six times and earn a total of 200 gold... for BUMPING! I think that you should start at like five gold and then for every reasonable post (i.e. at least a complete sentence) then you should earn another five, or three or whatever. It just makes more sense to me. right now your posting bonuses are like: 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 5, 1 (bear with me I can't think of what they actually are...). I think that it should start at five and then increase in increments of three, four, or five for each "good" post. Like this, this is my first post of the day, so I'm going to get 50 gold for it. But what if I were so dedicated that this were my Fiftieth post of the day (and I think it's a pretty significant post) and it's only worth 1 gold?
I don't know... I want to know what you all think about all of this...

I agree with you, I don't see what was so bad about the old gold system. No one ever complained about that. I didn't think that polls needed as much gold as posts, but that was the only thing I thought wasn't the best about the old gold system.
Gaia is a forum, it needs to focus on its posts and not on other things. The whole idea of Gaia is for people to get together and discuss things online, to spread ideas, to role play, and just to have fun. But if someone's typing their first post and all they put is "bump," while another person is typing their 27th post and they type out a whole paragraph... the first person is getting 50 gold while the second, who I think is putting more effort into it, is only getting 1 gold. I think that is horrible.
There is just so many changes to this site that they don't stop to see how it's affecting their users who ultimately determine if the site is a success or a failure.
I just wish that things could have stayed the way they were before...

This is the way it goes for me. They make a change on the site, I hate it, have to re-learn on getting around. Then once i'm used to it they change it again. I hate it. Why can't they just pick one and leave it that way? scream

I am in agreement, I can home for the summer and I was just real good at working everything and I leave with my french class to study abrod in France and I come back and its all funky, and the money thing really does bug me too!

I wish that they would just leave things alone and worry about glitches the need to be fixed and changes that the users want, not changes that the adminstration thinks the users want.
