Welcome to Hunter's Nightclub and Bar

Hunter's is a popular New York bar and nightclub owned by "Hunter" Wilson, a retired Hunter who offers support to the local Hunters. As such Hunter's is a safe haven and place for recreation and relaxation for Hunters in the New York area. Furthermore, underneath Hunter's is the hidden, underground headquarters for the New York Hunters group, known as Haven. Due to these reasons, Hunter's is the center of all Hunter activity in New York City.

What Hunter's Looks Like (Outside)
Hunter's is a simple, one story building with a square design, and is about one hundred feet long on all sides. It is painted entirely black, and a sign with the name of the place in dark red script with spotlights shining on it at night is placed right over the main entrance. There are three entrances into or out of Hunter's; the main entrance on the southern side which is a pair of large metallic swinging doors lined in silver, the employees entrance on the eastern side of the building, and the emergency exit on the northern side of the building. There is a concrete overhang with many different lights installed in it over the main entrance. On the left side of the main entrance is an intercom, and to the right is a security keypad. About eight feet to the right of the employees entrance is another security keypad and a surveilance camera pointed at the employees entrance; there is also a surveilance camera to the left of the emergency exit pointed at it. There are two different lights over both the employees entrance and the emergency exit.

Exterior Defenses
Since Hunter's is the primary meeting place for the Hunters in New York, it must be well protected from supernatural threats without being obvious to the public eye. There are UV lights over all three entrances to Hunter's; these can only be turned off by imputting the correct nine digit code into the security keypad by the main entrance or the employees entrance for the corresponding light so that non-human Hunters can enter safely, the UV light over the emergency exit can't be turned off. The main doors are made of thick oak wood with silver inlays, and all three entrances have silver doorknobs and hinges although there is another code for the employee entrance which can activate a rubberized sheath being placed over the silver of the doorknob; once again so that non-human Hunters can get in without harm. The paint and plaster on the walls and roof have silver dust mixed in, and the walls are reinforced with cold iron which repels most demons. There is also a constantly maintained circle of salt around the building which repels demons, and several invisible spell barriers protecting the building from supernatural or magical attack. Finally, there are two Hunters which are employed as bouncers at the main entrance who won't let any non-human, even a non-human Hunter, inside the building unless they can give several complicated passwords correctly, and they have easy access to the intercom to warn the people inside if there's any trouble; there is also a third Hunter who patrols around the building's perimeter regularly during the day and constantly during the night.

What Hunter's Looks Like (Inside)
The interior of Hunter's is dimly lit and darkly painted, with a main area directly beyond the main entrance, bathrooms and a large room for private parties in the back along with the owner's office, and a storage room on the eastern side of the building where the employees entrance is located; the storage room is also where the secret entrance to Haven is hidden. Along the sides of the main room are elevated platforms with guardrails and several sets of stairs leading to the sunken dance floor in the middle of the main room. On the sides of the platforms and the dance floor are about a dozen or so dark velvet couches for relaxing in, and scattered about the platforms and the edges of the dance floor are nearly sixteen or so round metal tables with about four chairs at each. In the southwestern corner of the main room is the wet bar where drinks and beverages are served, and in the southeastern corner is the snack bar where patrons can purchase food and snacks to eat, both have a counter top with several bar stools next to it. Against the back wall of the dance floor area is a raised stage where bands play when it's a night for a band to play, and at the back of the stage is the DJ's booth. In front of and to the side of the DJ's booth are several speakers, with the ones to the side being about as tall as a man. To the sides of the DJ's booth and the stage there are also several banks of spotlights, laserlights, and strobelights, with a laser system for creating laser lgith shows in front of the DJ's booth nestled between the smaller speakers. The bathrooms in the back of the building are avergae bathrooms, and located right next to the emergency exit. Down the back hallway from the bathrooms is the private party room, which has a single long table with space for nearly two dozen people and a small wet bar. At the back of the private room is the owner's office, which has sound proofing on the walls, a couple of comfortable chairs in front of the large mahogany desk and an especially large and comfortable swivel chair behind it, a small table with a coffee pot, pictures of the owner's family and friends on the walls, a computer and a phone with an answering machine on the desk, and an overflowing filing cabinet in the corner. The storage room has a small kitchen for making the food that patrons order, a walk-in refrigerator and a large freezer, a large dishwasher, a broom closet where the cleaning supplies are kept, over a dozen large shelves and cabinets holding liqour and food as well as other supplies, and a security camera in the corner. In the far back corner of the room is a carefully disguised trap door with a ladder which leads down to the upper Haven entrance room.

Interior Defenses
In case a hostile creature penetrates Hunter's exterior defenses, there are several well camaflagoued defense systems on the inside as well. Amongst the spotlight and strobelight banks are hidden several UV spolights and strobelights, there are several UV lasers amongst the laser display, and there are ultrasonic emitters hidden in the speakers designed to attack sensitive lycan hearing to knock werewolves unconscious; all of these defensive systems are controlled from the DJ's booth. The guardrails, inlays and finishings on the furniture, and nearly all metal fixtures are made of silver. The paint and plaster on the inside of the walls, which of course are reinforced with cold iron, are also mixed with silver dust just like the outside, and in addittion hundreds of spirit wards and protection enchantments have been plastered onto or carved into the walls before being painted over so as not to be noticed.

Well, that's Hunter's bar and nightclub. Come on in, have a few pints, maybe grab a plate of buffalo wings, or dance the night away. You're as safe here as you can possibly be, so relax; you don't know when you might get the chance to do so again.

The figure slumped towards the building, bags under his eyes and his shoulders hunched. God, what a night, he thought. Just his luck to be caught out in vampire territory, alone, during the Blood Moon; the blasted bloodsuckers just went crazy during this time period. Seeing the sign on the squat, large building up ahead, he couldn't help but smile in contentment. Hunter's. Thank God, I can check in to let people know I'm not dead, grab a drink or two, then head down to Haven and get some much needed rest.

Coming up to the silvery double doors, he was greeted by a young man in his late teens and and woman barely in her twenties glancing at him from beneath the glow of the lights in the overhang above them. Recognizing him, the guy grinned broadly and self-confidently while the woman appeared to be disinterested. As the figure in the battered black trenchcoat came up to them, the young man slapped him on the shoulder. "Hey, Mr. Jackson. You look like hell, must be that the hours of this business is getting to be too late for you. Don't worry old man, just give the word and I'll take over!"

William Jackson, newest leader of the New York Hunters group, shook his head in resignation. "Ace, I've told you time and again, no, you're not going out there. You're still not ready and more importantly we need you and the others here, guarding Hunter's and Haven. We'd be in a whole mess of trouble if they ever fell. Queenie, could you keep your partner here in line? Please?"

A silent, snooty nod was all that he got as a response, but he supposed that it would be the best that he would get. Letting the two o them open the doors for him, he stepped in. The dim lighting and darkly painted walls seemed to help soothe him, and the constant throb of the DJ's music blaring across the dance floor made the horrors of the night seem unreal for a fleeting moment. Yes, thank God for Hunter's. Without this place to relax and unwind at, alot of us would probably die from stress alone. Walking into the corner he came to the wet bar, currently manned by a stocky man with silvering hair. Looking up from the glass he was cleaning, the owner of this place, the old retired ex-Hunter, "Hunter" Wilson, grinned at Jackson. "Billy! So glad yer back, m'boy! Here, have one on the house, you look like you could use it!"

A full bottle of Jack Daniels, William's favorite, slid across the polished bar top and right into his outstretched hand. Nodding his gratitude, he took the bottle with him as he weaved through the tables along the upper tier above the sunken dance floor. He could feel the room vibrate with the movement of people and the constant blaring of the music. The wildly active dance floor was a good thing to see, hear, and feel; it reminded a person that they were still alive. Unscrewing the top, he took a swig of the bottle right before entering the storage room. Moving past the various shelves and cabinets, he found himself in the darkest corner of the room. Patting the floor, he eventually found the crefully disguised latch and flipped it up. The trap door leading to Haven sprung open, revealing a ladder going down and an intercom system, connected to the security station which guarded the secret entrance to the upper level of Haven. Pressing the intercom button, he beeped the security station, making them aware of his presence as courtesy demanded even though they'd have already seen him thanks to the security camera in the corner. "This is 'Night Hunter'. Password is 'Death smiles at us all, and we can only grin back at him'. Code is '11-Manta-21-Gamma-1983-Sigma'. Requesting permission to descend."

The intercom squawked back at him after a second. "Camera ID, codename, password, and personal code all confirmed. You're clear to come down, Mr. Jackson. Welcome home, sir."

With that, he climbed down the ladder, bottle still held loosely in one hand, as the trap door closed once again.

She walked into this new place cautiously, shaking out her umbrella as the bounces eyed her to make sure she was human, which she was, technically. She stood there, looking a bit lost as she surveryed her new surroundings.

Hours after it had opened to allow Will to descend, the trap door in the storage room once again swung open to allow the yawning leader of the Hunters to climb up out of Haven. While five hours of sleep had done him a world of good, he wouldn't have minded another three to five hours of shut-eye. But Wilson had paged him to let him know that a couple of new faces had shown up in Hunter's, and if there were new Hunters around then it was his job to greet them and fill them in on how things were generally done around here.

Striding out of the storage room, he scanned the room, taking in the slowly diminishing crowd; Hunter's was a popular enough nightclub that it was packed to overflowing as early as eight in the evening, and the crowds usually didn't start to thin out until well after three in the morning. Add to that the fact that the bar, snack bar, and private rooms were open nearly twenty-four hours a day seven days a week, and Hunter's had a very steady flow of business. It was a good thing too, since Haven was maintained and kept stocked mostly through Wilson's generosity.

He spotted the young woman that he'd been told about standing somewhat uneasily near the doorway, and the vampire that the bouncers had let in sitting at the bar. Deciding to go talk to the woman first, Will walked over to her. She seemed a little startled when he stuck out his hand with a friendly grin on his face. "Hello there, miss. I'm William "Night Hunter" Jackson, the head honcho in our line of work. You're certainly a new face. Come, please have a drink with me. What's your name and where are you from?"

Asking her questions, he gently led her towards the bar where the vampire Hunter sat. This way he could talk to both of the new people at the same time, and save himself the trouble of repeating himself later.

She was confused and baffled by his questions, but she let herself be led to the bar. She sat on a bar stool, letting her umbrella lean agasint it so it might have the chance of drying off.

"My name is....Lydia. Lydia Aidly." She told the man, William. she thought to herself. His name is William. "I am from...around." It is not like she could say where she was from...she really did not know.

Len Thompson made his way towards Hunter's. The rain came down in a soft drizzle now, the main bombardment of storming had seized for the time being. He nodded to the two by the door, giving the woman a wink, she turning away acting disgusted with his type. He shrugged and walked inside shaking in the entrance way to get the thick layer of dripping water off of him. He stetched out his arms as he looked about the litten, fun looking place. It was the fourth time he had seen it this busy in the few weeks he had been here, obviously a special night of some sort.

He made his way into the crowds of dancing people, smiling at the women and nodding to the men as he headed for the bar stand. "Well, if it isn't Hunter Wilson, how's the night going m'man." He said putting an elbow on the counter as he took a seat. 'Hunter' rather enjoyed Len's activeness lately, from what he could tell anyway, as the man had chuckled.

"Well, I was thinking you wouldn' make it tonight." Len laughed, "I think this place is getting rather attatched to me, so it's no party without me here right?" Hunter gave a chuckle as he placed a shot glass back onto the shelf behind him.

"Aye, that may be m'boy. So, what can I do ya for this evenin'?" Len felt like a strong drink tonight, one he rather favored as well. "Get me a shot of whisky...actually, make that a small bottle if you will." Hunter nodded and went straight to work, the small bottle of whisky in front of Len quicker then any bartender he knew could do. He took it and took a gulp, giving a thumbs up in thanks as he laid down a couple bucks. "I may have put a little more then intended mind you, concider that my rent." He said jokingly as he swerved off his seat and headed out to the edge of the dance floor.

He took a drink looking about, boy this place was great though. Surely did take away a lot of worries. Worries...things he seemed not to have, but he had too many of them nowadays, ever scince...
He was cut off his thoughts at the sight of some gathered hunters, one he had seen before and had become somewhat recognized with, the other too must be new, or newer than himself. He moved over to their table and flipped a chair from a near by table to that one, taking a seat on it and setting the bottle of whisky down on the table. "Good evenin' gents, and pretty lady." He said nodding towards the girl.

He turned to Jackson, his shades moved about on his face a bit commically. "And if it isn't dear William!" He said as if thrilled. "It's been what...two nights scince we last exchanged greetings?" He said patting the hunter leader on the back laughing. "Well, I'm glad you've showed up to have some drinks too." He looked to the other two, already getting the familier feeling that he got when vampires or the rest were around as he saw the one in the suit. "And who are your friends here? Please, inroductions all around. I'm Len Thompson, some have come to call me Pro around here, so I don't mind that either." He said sounding welcome and comferting, but still giving the vampire a raised eyebrow now and then. He took another swig of his drink, awaiting the others to speak.

Skiaska hunched slightly as she tried to cover up the wound as best as she could. Fianlly, she straightened and beagn to walk into the building.

She pushed open the door and strode as quickly as possible so the blood wouldn't pool. She took a seat at the bar and plastered a smile on her face, showing off her sligthly sharp canines. A beep was heard and Skiaska looked down at a watch on her right wrist.

Crap... I only have an hour or two left... Please hold out for me, baby! She looked up from the contraption at the people. Many were eating, drinking, or chatting away. Yet she, bold as she was, did not approach.

She let out a short, quiet gasp as her muscles pulled and a small rush of blood flowed over her hand, onto the floor. Skaiska once again looked around, making sure no one saw.

William smiled kindly at the seemingly nervous girl. "Lydia, huh? Nice name. Later I'll show you where the secret entrance to Haven is. The place is closed down at the moment for a little remodelling, but once it's done we'll have everything we need to live down there if nescessary. You seem new, so just listen to what I tell you, find a couple of good people to go hunting with, and you'll be fine."

Turning his head, he looked squarely at the vampire sitting there. "And how about you? Vampires don't often become Hunters, and you'd have to be a Hunter for Ace and Queenie to turn off the defenses and let you in. What's your na...."

It was then that Len "Pro" Thompson came up to the small gathering, whiskey in one hand and a grin on his face. Will couldn't help but smile too when Len gave him a friendly slap on the shoulder; the other Hunter's care free personality, whether it was real or simply a mask he wore, helped keep him sane at times. Especially with the pressures of being the leader of the Hunters. Hunting was hard enough, being responsible for every Hunter in the area made for an even more stressful situation. "Hey Len, haven't been up to much. How about you? You bag anything in the last two nights?"

Before Len could reply, Will heard a quiet hiss of pain. Facing where the sound came from, he saw one of the new, younger Hunters... was Siaska her name? She was holding onto her side, and he could see the faintest trickle of red, which she was trying to hide. His eyes widened then narrowed before turning to Len. "Pro, there's a situation I've got to handle. Keep these two company, I don't know when I'll be back. If you need me, I'll be down in Haven; the medical room should be ready and Dr. Hunter is here tonight."

Standing, he strode over the the young woman and grabbed the arm that wasn't held against her side. Pulling her gently but firmly to her feet, he began moving her along the tiers towards the storage room. Before she could recover from her surprise and struggle, he leaned down and whispered in her ear. "Siaska, isn't it? Look, we don't know each other well, but I'm sure that you know that I'm the leader here. That makes you my responsibility, little lady, and right now I can see that you're hurt. You are coming with me, we've got a medical room and a doctor down in Haven."

Without any further words, he pulled her into the storage room. Going to the corner quickly, he knelt down and flipped the latch to the hidden trap door leading down to Haven. Hitting the intercom, he informed the security station of their descent. "This is Night Hunter, I'm bringing in injured, alert Dr. Hunter."

Not waiting for any reply, he cradled Siaska in one arm and began to climb down the ladder.

As Jackson spoke to Len and rushed off, the enthusiastic hunter nodded. "Aye, aye, sir! You have fun, and I'll talk to you later." He turned to the other two seated around him. "Alright, you heard the man, I've got to entertain you now, so someone buy me another bottle of whisky for me so as to get drunk." He grinned and gave a commical laugh, downing more of his drink. "Hmm...no takers I see." The two were rather quiet.

He looked through the groups of dancing and conversing people to see William helping a young girl out, who, by the blood that dripped from her, seemed to be wounded. Ah, that explains the emergency room and whatnot. He thought to himself as he kept his eyes on them til they were out of sight and inside Haven. He turned to the other two again and gave a reassuring smile.

He turned a bit, lowering his shades a bit so that he could give a visable wink to one of the girls that looked at him on the dance floor. He'd have to give her the pleasure of a dance later he thought as he turned, once again, back to the other two. "Oh, I still didn't get your name's by the way." He said taking another drink from the small whisky bottle.

She was intruiged by what was going on, and would ahve helped if it was within her powers. She didn't want them to know what she could do, and moved her left hand to cover the tell-tale sign on her right upper-arm. She hated the thing, but dealt with her hate.

She blinked when she realized that someone had asked her a question. She looked at the man who had asked the question.

"Oh. My name is....Lydia." It was still hard to think of herself that way. "Lydia Aidly."

About a half hour later, William came back into Hunter's and sat at the bar, his left hand in a cast and bandaged. Smiling weakly at Lydia, he bowed slightly. "Sorry about the wait, she was hurt pretty badly and I've got a couple of people waiting for me in my office. Like I said before miss, I'm William Jackson, leader of the Hunters in New York. What can I do for you?"
