Raine stepped up to the podium. Broken had officially given up her duties as announcer as she couldn't stand the thought of loosing any more of her children. Raine's voice was impassive; his knowledge that he would be Dassan's successor still chilled him to the bone and made him cold towards almost everything.
The next match is Saria versus . . . Alex he said, managing to feel something at the thought of his mother ending up at Dassan's mercy. He would personally kill Dassan first before he would touch his mother. Or . . . he'd offer himself in her place . . . whichever he would accept . . .
Alex walked out onto the field, glancing up at her son, fully grown, standing in the announcer's booth. She sighed. What exactly would her only son do if she were to loose this match? She shook her head to clear it and focused on the match.

Alex was waiting for her opponent, one of Profet's children, she did believe. She glanced up at the sky. Oh how she hoped that Celeste would be all right. No sooner than she thought this that her daughter's words were in her mind and a single star fell gracefully from the heavens, loosing its light as it fell.
Alex's eyes were trained on that single star as it slowly drifted down straight above her. Her neck was craned up to see it as a single piece of moon rock, the basis for that particular star, landed in her single, outstretched hand. She cradled it to her chest, a tear rolling down her soft cheek. No . . . she thought with despair, knees weakening at the very thought. Not now . . . not when I have to fight . . . please . . . Celeste . . . don't let it be . . . she begged, though she already knew what had happened.

"He causes pain in the cruelest of ways.." Said Saria as she stepped into the arena. "Who ever loses will be the next to face his wrath.. This is terrible but I shall fight with all my strenght." She bowed.

From the way Alex was slumped, it would seem that there was no fight left in her. However, she was a fire drake and, thinking of this, she stood straight upright with renewed resolve. A familiar flame flickered in her eyes as she lived up to her heritage of bravery. She thought of the red dragon in the mountains and was determined to do him proud.
He may, but we must stay strong despite what he may do she said, waiting for her opponent to attack.

Saria bowed and charges up a shadow ball. "Shade!" she cried.

Alex dodged the attack easily, returning quickly with one of her own, the second half to her first attack. She presented her claws to her tail for just a moment, who then breathed fire on them, before attacking.
Blazer Claw she said as she lept forward and attacked.

Saria looked at alex and bowed. "Forgive me if this becomes your fate." she said as her eyes faded to black. "Darkness furry!" she shrieked ad a twister of shadow formed and headed toward alex ad saria shrunk.

A shield of fire protected Alex; how she had managed to summon it time, she wasn't sure, or how it managed to protect her, she didn't much care. She had won the match now as a matter of course. She looked down at the younger Saria.
I'm . . . I'm sorry she said before turning and leaving the 'dome. Draco would be relieved, she'd wager. She even saw Raine smile before leaving the audience. She smiled for the first time, taking the lump of moon rock out of her pocket and glancing up at the night sky. I'll avenge you, love she promised.
