Well, i am a Christian and i believe God is here. But the thing is, i don't go to Church. My mom's always telling me she needs to "find a good church" or she needs to get me a "good bible". Something like that, and i can't change her mind. So right now, i just read a Bible (New testiment) i got for free almost everday, and i talk to God throughout the day. And i've never been babtised.
And here is my point. Say i died right now. What would happen to me? I accept Jesus as my saviour, but i have not been baptised and don't go to church every week. I don't really go either. Does that affect what happens?
I'm confused! gonk

I have to say that church is a very important thing to attend as a Christian. It's the 'powerplug' for your walk with Christ. But if you truly believe in Jesus as your saviour and you live as a Christian, then Heaven is where you'll go.

I do not know where you will go, but you need to find a Church and become one with the Body of Christ!

Being a Christian is about being obediant. Romans says we are to be slaves to God not slaves to sin. We are told to be imitators of Christ. That means baptism is important. It isn't the last thing. Living like Christ is the last thing we do. But being unified with other believers doesn't occur when you are not attending church.

Well, as long as you've accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, you're good to go.
No where in the Bible does it say that you need to be baptized and go to church to get into heaven. Being baptized is a public statement of your faith, but it's not a pass into Heaven. As for church, it is important simply because it is where you learn. It is there that you can connect with other Christians, and they can support and help you, and you them. Again, you don't need it to get to heaven, but many people fall away simply because they don't have anyone to keep them accountable. I'm not saying you will, lol, just that people do. And reading the Bible is a great way to grow, but not the only way.
I would encourage finding a church, but I do understand that sometimes it's hard. I know that on the university campus I go to they do a series of small group stuff. Not church, but simply a small meeting of a few people with a common belief. Not quite church, but it has the same effect. So even if you could find a couple of people, you could have your own church! Or maybe you and your mom could do it =)
I dunno..that's my...blurb, I guess xp

Yes, I agree with *HiKari* she is very wise!! God knows you and you seek Him through the Word of God. I am sure that God will help you find a church where you can deepen your walk with Him!

You should really get baptised. But going to church is a good thing, it's suggested for new Christians who want to keep their faith and find encouragement. But yeah, get baptised. Your best friend can do it if you want.

A church is a church. A bible is a bible.

It's the same with me. And no where in the Bible do I recall having to be baptized.

It doen't really matter. Being baptized is a symbol that you have accepted Jesus into your heart. You don't have to go to church but it's a good way to learn more about the Lord. The main thing is to trust Jesus Christ

About half of the Bible was written to various church assemblies. From Romans to II Thessalonians, and from Hebrews to Jude, there is nothing but letters either to a specific church or to the churches in general.
Churches were a vital part of Christian life back at its roots, and it's still an important part now. A church is a community of believers. You hold each other accountable, you grow, you worhship with each other and you learn what others have to say about God and the Bible. God works best in communities. Having just settled down in a church, I can tell you how much better things have been since I found that community of people to share things with.
It's possible to be a Christian and not go to church. There's no doubt about that. But it's important. As a Christian, you have a spiritual gift. That gift is meant to be used in the context of the church.
So it does matter. Incredibly. Not for your salvation, but for your growth as a Christian.

Awesome!
I'll keep you in your prayers.
Be open to the people there, though. And prepare before you go. God'll show you if that's the church or not.
