Yeah...so I'm working on my band. It's called ACEofSPADES, and I generally consider my lyrics to be grunge. I figure I'll post a song or two, and when I get them...I'll post actual recordings. Could be a while, as we haven't had a practice in about a month, since our schedules are completely ********. But for now...I'll give this a shot.

Cool. I used to be in a band but it split up cos half of the members couldn't be bothered, and i wanted to go in a different musical direction to them(ie. i wanted to do grunge and metal and they wanted to do punk-pop and indie). I have some, solo stuff, as it were, and a few songs written with Dragonforce rule...
anyway back on topic, i look forward to hearing your band, i bet you're good smile
Edit: Damn. *curses lack of broadbandiness* <- my pc's crap lol

I'm working with a POS box too. I was actually going to post lyrics last time, but my computer had a seizure in the process. In fact, Fiction Press is still down, so I can't tap my massive archive, and had to go hunting through my Myspace blog for my occasional post. Which sucks, because I made my Myspace blog 1-per-page last week. sweatdrop stressed First off, Turn Away. Might be the only one until FP decides to stop tripping. I originally posted this April 25th, 2006, and though I'm not entirely happy with part of the ending...the rest of it is all right. I believe this is the only song I've ever hyped both before and after it was written. For that matter, it's the only one I hyped before it was finished. Turn Away
Forgive the life to which you're a slave Try to forget the lives you couldn't save If you're doing yourself right by doing me wrong Are you doing anything right at all?
I take a step back and look you all over A neverending nightmare of hate, filth, and greed Unlocking a cage filled with my past mistakes I'm watching them burn, they're watching me bleed
Forsake the life to which you're a slave Try to forsake the lives you could have saved If, by doing me wrong, you're doing you right What the hell are you doing tonight?
I turned my back on what I once knew And in doing so, I turned to you You couldn't save me from myself And so I put you on a shelf
A shelf, alone with what I was Because I've tried to change Change from who I used to be Wanting to ******** every girl I'd see But things are different now I tried not to love her But she was too close Too close to what I used to be too close to what I used to see The next I loved just because she's the same The same damn woman with a different name But each time I learn a little more about me And each time I confront what I least want to see Through bloodshed and hatred, I've destroyed my soul A single essence of fire and pain Have led me to turn away again
Forget the life that you've enslaved And forgive yourself the ones you didn't save Alone I will stand, to myself I'll be true While millions around me are worshiping you

Thank God...Fiction Press is back up...it's been down for most of the past week, and as such, accessing my backlog has been difficult. Although, I am a little concerned that my talent is slipping. This is an older piece, but one of my personal favorites, along with Turn Away. It's called Stride by Stride, and will hopefully appear on my debut.
Stride by Stride
CHORUS: The shadow dwelling in your mind Advances slowly, stride by stride And waits until the curtains call He draws them back, and sees them all
VERSE: The ignorant tempo of anger-filled voices Fills all of our minds with ignorant choices The self-blinding hate fills up all the cracks And ignorant people forget to turn back
There is an aroma, an aura of fear The scent of your fright as your death cometh here Advance to the stage, draw back the curtains Until you can see all the innocents hurting
Repeat CHORUS
VERSE: The senses of darkness, approaching and sounding The dogs of black fear, carousing and hounding Alone on a peak, an innocent burns Alone in a classroom, an innocent learns
Repeat CHORUS The shadows dwelling in our minds Advance toward us, stride by stride They wait until our curtains call And draw them back; They see us all.
