Sky-blue eyes wondered after the little creatures dancing around the flower bed. Butterflies were this mare's best friends, they seemed to follow her wherever she went. She didn't mind, it was good to have company, being alone was what she hated the most. Sadness filled her as she remembered how she was alone when she was in a basket. Her parents were no where to be found. Luck has it, that another Alicorn, Jeevita, found her and took her in as daughter. Nalani will always be greatful to her for her tenderness, protection, and love.

-It would seem today, that a butterfly of the larger sort had happened upon the alicorn mare, blue eyes lifting as the soft sight of similarly azure wings touched his sight.
At first he though perhaps it was a reflection.. some figment of his imagination.. but as the subtle and earthy pelt of the female came into view Ashling lifted himself curiously.
A warm and loud nicker sounded from the small stallion, only a moment before his feet began to carry him her way, wings fluttering just a little in soft excitement. He'd not seen a flutter since... his sister.. -

Delicate ears picked up a sound in the wind. The butterflies must of noticed it as well for they took off into the air but didn't go anywhere. They merely surrounded her as if they were a shield. The mare looked across the field and came eye to eye with stallion. One that looked just like her, except for the horn and tail, altough a bit small in size. As she whinnied a soft hello to the stranger, the butterflies let down their guard and rested on the mare's mane.

-Her and the butterflies' catiousness was lost on the overgrown colt as he drew nearer, wide smile spreading across his dark tipped muzzle. Her whinney was enough of a greeting and soon his eyes were lost on her differences.
She wasn't the same as him at all.. tail that slipped out like a wolves, horn spirling from her forehead. And of course the size, like most other species that stood above him. But already cheerful words were slipping from him, tail swaying back and forth as if he were a pup instead of a horse.- "Ahhh, I haven't seen another flutter in ages! And wings so similar too."
"I'm Ashling!"

The mare tilted her head and smiled warmingly at the small stallion. His size made him look like a colt and his coloring made him look cute enough to nuzzle. The beautiful wings he had reminded her so much of the sky. The mention of flutters surprised her. "Oh! You're a flutter? I've never met one before." She chuckled as he introduced himself and noticed his excitement. "Nice to meet you, Ashling. I'm Nalani."

-Never met one! But she was one? Wasn't she? His head cocked with soft curiousity, and before he could stop himself the words slipped out.- "I've never met your kind of flutter before. Are you part wolf or something Nalani?"
-She had the tail.. and the horn.. well that was kind of like a tooth.. or nails.. only longer.. right?-

She stopped to ponder about his question, "I don't really know what I am. My mother said I was an alicorn just like her, but we're completely different except for my horn." Realizing that he had asked if she was part wolf, she laughed a bit. "No, I don't think I'm part wolf. What I do now is that I must be part flutter because of these wings."

"Alicorn.." -He pondered over the word softly, having not heard it before, but he nodded finally in agreement when she spoke the later words.- "Oh yes! Definately flutter wings. They're just like the butterflies wings."
-Grinning some more he lifted his head lightly to try and inspect closer one of the many butterflies that seemed so attracted to the mare, before offering finally.- "I suppose WHAT we are really doesn't matter as much as WHO we are though. As long as you're fun to play with, that's all that matters to me."

(( Hopping in 8D )) Jeevita was wondering around. She was slightly depressed, but felt that she needed to hide it today. She looked happy, though her eyes could hardly lie. Even though her eyes normally looked sad, today they were a bit darker blue. She looked at the trees above as she slowly made her way through the little patch of woods.
She hadn't seen her daughter for a while. Since she was a mare, Jeevita tried to stay out of her affairs unless she needed them. Though she loved seeing her. She was Jeevita's pride and joy. She smiled at the birds that flew over head.
Hearing talking, Jeevita bounced her head back down. Seeing a Stallion. A flutter perhaps? Much like Lonatos, but alot different color and different wings. Then she saw Nalani. She gave a smile. "Hello, Nalani " She said sweetly announcing her arrival.

The stallion was like an overgrown colt and it made her chuckle. "Of course I'm fun to play with. Others have told me how I act so much like a filly and play around." She heard her name and she lifted her head and spotted her "mother". Grinning, she called out to her, "Mother!" She quickly trotted up to Jeevita and nuzzled her. "It's been a while since I've seen you." Smiling, she turned to the stallion. "Mother, this is my new friend, Ashling. The first flutter I've met."

Apple wandered around the plains looking for other horses to be with. He hated to be alone and without a friend near-by. He looked around at the trees and the sky hoping to see maybe a horse flying or walking around. He finally saw a small group of horses and approached them slowly. He recognized two of them but the other stallion he did not know. He smiled hoping that he wasn't intruding. "Hello."

-He nodded to Nalani's sentiment, hoping it was true. But quickly his attention was drawn away, and his eyes widened softly at the scene before him. She'd been right. Her and her mother looked 'nothing' alike at all. But.. he bet it was nice to have a mother reguardless.
The closest thing he ever had was a tiny two legger. Not that she didn't spoil him to pieces.
Giving a soft nicker of greeting to mare, his ears soon swiveled to the sound of the male, eyes joining to peer at the strange design that worked it's way across his pelt.- "Hello there."
-His butterfly wings fluttered gently with excitement. He'd never been around so many new soquili at once!-

A huge grin covered her face, "Mr. Delicious!" She trotted quickly over to Apple's side and nuzzled him. "How are you, my knight?" She smiled remembering the day he became her knight. Nalani looked back at her mother, "That reminds me, Mother, if you aren't busy later I would like to ask you something in private." Not forgetting her new friend, she turned and introduced Apple to him.

Jeevita chuckled. "Nice to meet you, Ashling." She bowed towards him and then looked up to see Apple. "Why hello Apple. Pleasent surprise to see you." She said mysticly. She looked back at Nalani.
"Of course, anything for you. You'll just have to come and nab me before I got grazing." she said smiling. She wasn't happy, though she could fake it truely well. Nalani didn't know much of Lonatos or Cristallin. She looked down at the ground to notice some butterflies slowly dancing in the air with each other.

Apple smiled and bowed his head at the other male. "How are you sir?" He then turned his focus to Nalani. "My queen!" He nuzzled her softly. "I'm am good and how are you?" he smiled then turned to face Jeevita. "Hello Jeevita how are you today." He smiled at all the horses happily. He loved to be around other horses, it was so much better than being by himself.
