The wayward Grunt was swift to avoid most of Hearthome as well, considering he didn't want a run-in with all the trainers in town for the contests, and the gym leader had a habit of snooping in town affairs as well. So the Grunt carried Kit on the outskirts. "Just... a bit... further..." he wheezed, hoping to high heaven that whatever reward he would get for bagging Kitt would be worth the sore muscles. *moving to Solaceon*

Landing in Hearthome, Chloe glanced about, smiling faintly as she recalled Alkaid back into her Pokeball, making her way to the gym, Chloe took a deep breath.
"Last one for now, then we'll head to do something else," she promised herself, hoping that she'd be alright in challenging Fantina. Stepping inside, she took a deep breath, prepared to issue her challenge, but was met with a series of elevators leading up.
"Mmn, guess its a bit of traveling," Chloe muttered, yawning as she stretched, making her way to the first lift.

"Alright, Entreri, you're up," Chloe smiled, summoning the Sneasel to the arena. She was finally convinced that the moody dark type was ready for a true battle. And what better way than to challenge a gym?
Entreri emerged from his Pokeball, doing a somersault as he catapulted overhead to land in front of the hovering ghost. Smirking despite his strength outmatch, Entreri was quite confident.
"Alright, let's give it a taste of your Faint Attack!" Chloe called, summoning Entreri into motion. To which the Sneasel did readily, vanishing completely from view in a flash. It took a moment to register that he had made it all the way over the Drifblim, relying on another burst of speed to slash at the ghost, claws glowing a deep violet as he slammed into the Drifblim.

"Oh, Loony! Iz my little ghost alright?" Fantina yelped. Her Drifblim was her favorite for the local contests, as such she was worried sick about him being in an actual battle. Nonetheless, having a taste for the dramatic, she motioned her Drifblim into motion.
"Geet zum payback with an Ominous Vind, Loony!" she called.
"...Vind?" Chloe snerked. "You mean, wind?"
"Zat iz vat I said, no? Vind!" Fantina nodded, oblivious.
While Chloe tried to strike up an argument for grammar's sake, the Drifblim complied with orders (able to detect the ordered move despite its master's heavy accent). The ghost struck up a howling blast of wind that knocked Entreri away from the weather balloon-like ghost. Entreri growled low, claws digging into the stone of the gym's floor for leverage as he darted back at the Drifblim with another Faint Attack as Chloe continued to try to argue her case.

"No, I mean wind. The letter 'w' as in weather, water, and wish?"
"Yes, zat is vat I said. Veather, vather, vish, no?" Fantina retorted, as Chloe sighed.
"No, double-yuuu, makes a wuh sound, wind," Chloe stated.
"Vind," Fantina reiterated. "You do not get ze alphabet in your country?"
"What?!" Chloe squeaked, "I know my alphabet very well, thank you very much!"
Entreri and Loony stared at their respective trainers expectantly, awaiting orders, however the two were still engaged in their little nuance battle, so both looked to each other, shrugged (although in Loony's case it was more of a wiggle, considering the Drifblim didn't own any shoulders), and continued the match on their own.
Leaping forward, Entreri slashed at the Drifblim with another Faint Attack, claws glowing violet once more. Before the ghost could strike back, however, it wavered, pausing for a moment, before it slumped to the arena floor, unable to continue the battle. Entreri plopped next to Chloe, tugging on her pant leg with an impatient, "Snee!" eager to continue the match.

Calling Daimon out, Chloe grinned, "Alright, Dai, give that ghost a blast of Hydro Pump," she called. The Kingdra willingly complied, shooting of a jet of water at the Gengar, who sputtered, clearly not pleased at the soak.

"Gah, Gengar, you're all vet!" Fantina exclaimed, as the ghostly Pokemon shook off the remaining water.
"What, afraid you'll get your dress wet?" Chloe couldn't help but retort.
"I'll have you know, zis iz a very special dress, made for me by my best tailor in my home country," Fantina sniffed disdainfully. "It iz best for contests, and a very pretty dress."
"It's pretty bright..." Chloe pointed out, poking a finger at the glittering mass of glowy stuff that the dress gave off when hit by the fluorescent lights in the gym.
Aaaaand the two were at it again, this time Chloe defending her choice in 'tactless riffraff clothing' as Fantina so elegantly pointed out. Chloe, who had always loved her coats, was quick to jump to the argument, complaining that Fantina's clothes were no use for battling in. Sure they were great for contests, but this was a gym battle. The ballroom gown wasn't the most convenient choice.
The Gengar and Kingdra both sighed, might as well finish this one up on their own. The Gengar leaped forward with a Shadow Claw, as Daimon released another Hydro Pump at the ghost.

Continuing the match, both Pokemon repeated their earlier actions, as the Gengar slashed at the Kingdra wildly, hands forming vicious claws of ghostly energy as Daimon breathed deep, blasting off another jet of water.

As the Gengar used another Shadow Claw, diving in close, Daimon finished the job with a Twisted, summoning a miniature tornado that sweeped through the gym.

"Strike it with a Hydro Pump!" Chloe called, as Daimon did just that, drenching the Mismagius with another deluge of water.

"Mizmagius, use Shadow Ball!" Fantina commanded her partner, who blasted Daimon with an orb of dark energy.

"Another Hydro Pump, Dai, you know what to do," Chloe smiled as Daimon nodded, blasting another jet of water at the ghostly Pokemon before him.

"Shadow Ball again, my friend," Fantina nodded the go ahead, as the Mismagius let fly another orb of darkness at Daimon.

"Kay, partner, let's start this off with Earthquake," Chloe called to the Flygon, who answered with an eager cry as he slammed into the ground, sending tremors throughout the gym.

"Sableye, use ze Zen Headbutt!" Fantina requested of her Pokemon, who complied, slamming into Mikami, who growled in irritation.
