Okay. In the last AG chat, we came up with the idea to possibly do an AG RP. Since I had an idea that people seemed to like, I've thrown together a premise based on it and am putting it here for consideration. I'll get down to the nitty gritty stuff of character creation later, but pretty much any type of character is allowed by the nature of this game. All are welcome and invited to join.
In the beginning, there were seven worlds, as created by the Higher Beings. They were made separate, never interacting, never crossing. Content with their creation, the Beings moved on to other projects, leaving these worlds alone. However, as always happens, something went wrong. The worlds were designed to be self sufficient, each containing different civilizations and groups and evolving separately, never to really know of each other or interact with each other. No one can quite agree where this broke down. Some sages blame a magical accident. Some blame beings beyond their perception. Others say that it was the fault of a powerful warlord'ss desire to conquer other possible worlds. Most people simply think that it’s something far too complex to debate over and it'ss better to simply accept the fact that it does exist and move on. Regardless, something disrupted the balance of the worlds and they moved out of alignment. Where they touched each other, an anomaly was created. A new world was created; Lethe. Now, it is interesting to note that despite differences in language and history, every single world has begun calling this world Lethe, though there is still no real communication between the worlds.
What is known about Lethe is that it is a place devoid of rationale. Monsters far more bizarre than any known to the worlds live there. A giant jungle covers the world and above all else, it is dangerous. There is no definite way to get in or out of Lethe. To enter, one simply must be unlucky. As a result of its accidental nature, Lethe is able to affect all seven of the worlds, creating portals randomly which snatch people and objects and beasts up and thrusts them into Lethe. They are then forced to exist and, possibly, survive there. There is no overriding civilization on Lethe, though there are certainly villages and cities, each with their own laws. However, any attempt to create a larger civilization has ended with failure. Furthermore, no one has yet been successful in any attempt to escape Lethe once you have been taken there.
Lethe has always had conflicts between people taken there. Beyond almost never being a conscious choice, people are forced to adapt as they are brought together with people and groups they have never before had contact with each other. While the general magic of Lethe often lets language barriers fall, this is not always the case. It is a shocking change that everyone must adapt to or fall.
By most calculations within Lethe, Lethe has existed for nearly 3000 years, though no accurate age has been established. Over that time, creatures taken from the various worlds have evolved and grown more dangerous within the environment. Large birds of prey pick off wayward individuals. Giant lizards roam the forests and it is rumored that a few dragons have been taken in as well, though no one has yet reported seeing one. Of course, that might just be because no one has survived a meeting with one. Recently, a disturbing trend has been noticed both in the seven worlds and in Lethe. The number of portals and abductions has increased at a rapid rate. No one can quite figure out why, though most hypotheses are quite sinister. As if that wasn’t enough, within Lethe, disruptions of space time have begun to occur. Areas of faster time and slower time have been noted, as well as suspensions of normal laws of physics. Most people within Lethe are worried about what the cause of this could be. The most common theory is that Lethe is coming apart, causing these events. While some think that might return them to their own world, others worry what would happen if the entire world were to simply collapse around them.
Here are the world names and civilizations:
Samecia (futuristic) -Zermin Tokiri *FFG* : biggrin etailed in bio:: -Spica *Hito* ::genetically modified humans with caste system::
Ceheus (Science and Magic world) -All over the world --Arcanoloths *Mala* ::Magical and scientific type:: -Sprkzlat continent --Grighmflt *Mala* ::Science Ogres:: --Cehntenal *Mala* ::Magical humans::
Rudine (reneissance + pirates) -Latraian *Stream* ::coyote-type people Nuisha::

Eneyd'o (Post-apocalyptic) -The Infected *L0ki* ::ZOMBIES!!:: UNDEAD (duh)
Amisaya (feudal/medieval-esque/magic) -Kironians *Phoe* ::Knietic feedback mutants::
Seyk (Somewhat primitive; Hunter gatherer) -Mroogians *Skizz* : razz rimitive hunters:: -Unnamed lizard people race *Skizz* :Emergency Food Supply::

Ugh.
Ok. Probably doing someone with some sort of magic or psionic powers. I'm not exactly sure yet. I was going to do a psionic ninja... but that's really cliche. Currently torn between some sort of elementalist, an illusionist or a battery.
More to come later in future posts, but I'm almost definitely having some sort of energy based powers in my arsenal.

Ok guys, since this is kinda a planning thread, we should probably discuss ideas here. I have a pile of different character ideas, and can play any of several roles, so I'll let a few others pick what they wanna do before I select one. That way I'm not playing the same character as someone else...

Well, I edited my first post, and upon further thought,
I'm currently thinking I like the idea of my channeler, someone with powers akin to either Bishop or Maverick, I haven't decided which.
For reference Bishop- absorbs all energy, redirects as plasma blasts. Maverick-absorbs kinetic energy, redirects as Bio-electric blasts.
I'm currently focusing on the what kind of energy to absorb, rather than the actual channeling of the absorbed energy, though thoughts on that part would be nice too.

I wanna play but I really suck at RPing...could I maybe get some help with stuff along the way?
I was thinking of a character like Lord Raptor from Darkstalkers. Except I focus my energy through the guitar to absorb part of the enemies soul. Kinda like a life drain ability in Final Fantasy, then just use the axe-edge part of my guitar for physical attacks.

I.. don't have much as it is, really. Definitely a girl, because I can't roleplay as guys, and definitely getting transported to Lethe in the first post. Wasn't planning on her having any powers, but seeing youse guys' posts I guess I should give her.. one. Minor power. Increased sense of balance, and.. make people fall down or something.

Assuming I do go with the channeler idea, that's really going to be his (or her) only "above normal" attribute.

I'm kinda thinking about some kinda of trickster style action... either outright thieflyness or some kinda swashbuckling rogue...

As far as physical aspects go, I'm thinking either a swordsman (not necessarily a sword user or a man) with the energy channeling or some sort of martial artist/ninja-esque character with the kinetic absorption. For some reason those both appeal to me, though doing someone like Jin (wind guy with fun accent) from YYH is also somewhat appealing as well.
If ANYONE posts a description of their char as "non-descript" I will go out of my way to hunt you, as non-descript people are the most suspicious looking of all. mad
Personality-wise, I'm thinking someone that's more or less a good person, albeit a cynical, sarcastic b*****d. Though that may change.
