At Ivan’s house; Biff picks up Scarlet and hugs her.
Scarlet: You miss me?
Biff: Of course.
In the kitchen, Chris is stirring a drink while talking to Max.
Chris: Moving in with Biff? Have you talked to Ivan?
Max: I’ll tell him but there’s nothing going to stop me from staying by Biff’s side.
Biff carries a cardboard box up the stairs to his apartment with Max holding his pillow and following.
Max: Hehe, they don’t even have to change my room for Scarlet.
Biff: She sleeps with Ivan and Chris every night too; I guess we’ll just end up dividing her stuff from between the two houses because I’m sure after the wedding they’ll want some alone time.
Max: Heh, yeah. Isn’t it like six weeks away?
Biff: Five and a half I think, Chris is still looking for a dress.
Max: Sounds like a good week to go shopping.
Biff: Yep.
Biff opens the door to his apartment and sets the box down on the ground; Max hugs his pillow.
Max: I knew this place was missing something; I’m so glad I brought it.
Biff: And I was just missing a cute little wolf.
Max: Well, now that you got me and I got my pillow – what else do we need?
Biff: Hmm, chocolate cake.
Max: You and your sweets.
Ivan sits on the couch with Scarlet asleep in his lap. Chris walks in carrying a plate of cookies; she sets them down on the coffee table then sits down next to Ivan.
Ivan: I guess he really is growing up.
Chris: Maybe now that you have this little girl to look after he didn’t have to be the kid anymore.
Ivan: It may be the case…
Scarlet yawns and glances at the cookies on the coffee table. She grabs one and goes back to sleep.
Ivan: Heh, of course I think Max will always be a kid at heart.
Max jumps around and brings the laptop to Biff.
Max: Lila’s inviting us to the Watermelon festival in Kansaluna! Can we go! Can we go!
Biff: Kansaluna?
Chris gets off the phone and walks into the living room; Scarlet nibbles on a cookie still sitting in Ivan’s lap.
Ivan: Who was that?
Chris: Biff and Max, they want to know if we’ll go to Kansaluna. There’s a watermelon festival.
Ivan: Watermelon?
Saikoro taps his fingers at the bar inside Flaming Snowball.
Saikoro: Oh, let’s just make Saikoro do everything while we go have fun at the Watermelon festival!
A tall man with black hair walks into the bar; he has a parrot on his shoulder.
Saikoro: Can I help you?
Alucard: Brak, get the drink Zack!
Zack: Quiet, how much would it cost to get a drink here without any… disturbances?
Saikoro: You mean rent this bar out for tonight?
Zack: Yes, a quiet evening with a bartender on hand.
Alucard: And some crackers, brak.
Saikoro: Hmmm…
In a train compartment; Biff sits next to Max who is sitting next to Alice. On the other side sits Ivan and Chris with Scarlet and Oliver.
Oliver: We’ll be staying at Grandpa Rufus’, right Mom?
Alice: Yep, Lila says she has gifts for all of us.
Biff: Gifts, aye?
Chris: I wonder what they could be.
Ivan: I just want the watermelon.
Max: Mhmm!
Arriving at Lila’s house; Lila hugs everybody and brings them inside. Scarlet and Max stare at all the stickers.
Scarlet & Max: Wow… can we have some too!
Chris: Heh, still a kid at heart…
Alice: So where are these presents Lila?
Lila: Oh, Gramps should be done soon.
Alice: Gramps?
Lila: Mhmm, you know I’m bad at sewing so Gramps did it for me! And I get to take care of the bills!
Rufus walks out of the backroom grinning, Alice hugs Rufus.
Alice: Hey Gramps.
Rufus: Ah, Alice, nice to see you again. Where’s that little whippersnapper?
Oliver: Eh, here…
Oliver walks over to Rufus and hugs him. Rufus sees his other company.
Rufus: Ah, I remember the fox and rabbit. Oh, there’s another rabbit! A tiny one she is. Ah, and that must be her mother – both very gorgeous.
Chris giggles; Rufus walks over to Max.
Rufus: And you must be Lila’s good friend.
Max: Mhmmm!
Rufus: Well, I’d ask for names but I can’t remember them at this age. But come on, come on. I will show you to your rooms and then the surprise.
Lila: Yay!
In the sewing room; kimonos are hanging up for everybody. Lila grins.
Lila: Just in time for the Watermelon festival! Hope you guys like them!
Chris: They’re beautiful!
Alice: Where’d you get the silk from?
Lila: It was a gift from umm, King Negi because I did a ceiling painting for him.
Oliver: You went to the Forbidden Palace!
Lila: Yep, I was wondering why they called it the Forbidden Palace but I never found out.
Ivan: Silk from the Forbidden Palace?
Biff: These kimonos are probably worth a million a piece!
Lila: Really?
Alice: It’s forbidden for a reason, outsiders aren’t allowed in.
Oliver: Minna Zea was the last one allowed in due strictly to business…
Lila: She must have also done a concert, they had it playing everywhere and they even had me include her to the painting… and Little Mr. Meow.
Chris: Must be nice to have money…
Zack stares at a cookie jar of a rabbit that says “Will sing for tips.” Saikoro scratches his chin.
Saikoro: You lift up its head and put the money in…
Zack: I knew that…
Zack takes out a twenty and puts it in the cookie jar. The rabbit starts to sing.
Alucard: Do it again, brak!
Zack: It’s like one of those – juke boxes.
Zack puts another twenty in and the rabbit sings another song. Saikoro gets a sweat drop.
Saikoro (Thinking): He may be rich and spooky but he sure isn’t too bright.
The next day, Rufus rocks in his rocking chair on the porch as a van drives off. Alice is driving and Lila sits in the passenger seat.
Lila: You guys are going to love it!
Max: Maybe we can find a dress too Chris!
Chris: That be nice.
In town; Max, Lila, and Chris head off in one direction. Alice takes Biff’s arm and drags him off. Ivan stands with Oliver and Chris.
Chris: What we going to do?
Ivan: Ummm…
Oliver: Follow me.
Lila, Max, and Chris walk into a shop.
Lila: Trust me, you’ll find the dress you’re looking for at a great price.
Chris: Let’s hope so.
Alice drags Biff around the corner of the strip of town.
Biff: Alice, where are you taking me?
Alice: We’re almost there.
Biff: Couldn’t you do this with your sister?
Alice: No, we’re here.
Alice stops and Biff looks at a sign, the sign reads “Nancy’s Nook.” Biff’s tail sways back and forth.
Biff: A novelty shop…
Alice: Heh, Saikoro told me about your little collection.
Biff: You should have told me we were going here.
Alice: It ruin the surprise.
Ivan sits down on a child’s chair in the shape of a giraffe. Scarlet and Oliver run around shooting each other with fake guns.
Ivan: It’s being with Max all over again…
At Flaming Snowball, Saikoro is sweeping the floor when a male named Rufio walks in.
Saikoro: Can I help you?
Rufio: Umm, yeah – can I get a gig?
Saikoro: Gig?
Rufio: I’m part of Sick Pony.
Saikoro: Sick Pony?
Biff scratches his chin in the novelty shop.
Biff: The pony?
Alice: Hey, you hook this up to your MP3 player and it vibrates to the music!
Biff: Well we got to buy that then, don’t we?
Alice: Of course!
Chris walks out of the store with her head down with Lila and Max following behind her.
Chris: It’s no use…
Max: Don’t give up Chris.
Chris: But I can’t find anything…
Lila: Hmm… well, we could go somewhere. He does owe me a favor.
Sick Pony sets up on stage while Tyson takes tickets at the door. Saikoro serves drink a long with Harvey.
Harvey: Who are they?
Saikoro: Sick Pony, I guess all the kids love them.
Harvey: Seems that way. Ivan’s going to be shocked when he gets back.
Saikoro: Yeah. Last night the guy rents out the bar and tonight we’re packed.
In Zeke’s Wedding shop, Minna paints her fingernails as Zeke pulls out a blue silk fabric.
Zeke: Will this do?
Minna: You think I’d look good in it for this Diva thing?
Zeke: Miss Minna, it is not a Diva thing. This is the Mahouin Diva Extravaganza.
Minna: I just got nominated today. How many years will this event take place?
Zeke: What’s your point?
Minna: I’ll probably get fat…
Lila walks into the store with Max and Chris following behind her.
Zeke: Customers!
Lila: Hey Zeke, its Lila.
Zeke: Oh, Lila! What can I do for you?
Lila: I need a wedding dress.
Chris: And I need better eyes, is that Minna Zea?
Max: It’s her scent.
Minna: Howdy, who’s getting married?
Lila: That be Chris.
Minna: Oh, how fabulous!
Zeke: Miss Minna, that’s my line.
Minna: Yeah, I know. Eww, I’m starting to talk like a gay man.
Zeke: Ork better not here you say that.
Minna: He’s too busy looking at my husband’s a**.
Zeke: Minna, Ork is my husband!
Lila: Does Minna always talk like this?
Chris: Oh yeah…
Max: It’s hard to see her serious some times, and that’s coming from me.
Alice sits in the driver seat of the van yawning. Ivan, Scarlet, and Oliver are sounded asleep in the back. Biff looks at his watch.
Biff: Where are they?
Alice: I don’t know but we should be heading home by now.
Lila opens up the back of the trunk, Biff and Alice jump out their seats.
Lila: Hm? What’s wrong?
Alice: You startled us, can’t you knock at least?
Lila: Umm, no.
Max: Hi Biffy!
Biff: Hey Max…
Chris: Got my dress. Sorry we’re late.
Saikoro counts the money earned at the bar; Harvey sweeps up the floor as Tyson takes a sip from a wine glass.
Tyson: How much?
Saikoro: Just from ticket sales, roughly two thousand six hundred and fifty dollars.
Harvey drops her broom.
Harvey: No way! From those geeks!
At Rufus’ house; Chris lies back on Alice’s bed with Alice lying beside her.
Alice: Minna is going to be your maid of honor? How’d you pull that off? You know she got nominated for Diva.
Chris: She told us… but you know, Minna’s a lot like us. So what if she’s famous, she’s still a woman.
Alice: Got that right. So, when you want to the bachelorette party?
Chris falls off the bed.
Chris: Bachelorette party?
Alice: Got to have some fun. That’s what I did before me and Oliver’s father got married.
Chris: You never told me about your husband…
Alice: Well, we only married because of Oliver and he cheated on me and got himself killed. Not much to say about him.
Chris: Oh…
Alice: Don’t worry, you’re marrying a great man.
In the guest room, Max chews on Biff’s ears.
Max: What is it?
Biff: It’s going to be a gift, so you’ll have to wait for it.
Max: But I hate waiting!
Biff: There must be something that occupies your time.
Max: Yeah, I want some cookies!
Biff: I’ll go get them.
Max: Yay!
Biff leaves the room and Max grins.
Max: Now I’ll find out.
Max takes out the gift from the bag and stares at.
Max: What? Buzz? Hmm...
Max reads the package and his tail starts to wag.
Max: This sounds like fun.
Max rips the package open with his teeth. He then takes his MP3 player off the nightstand. Biff walks to the door holding a plate of cookies, he hears Max giggling.
Biff: I knew he couldn’t resist temptation…
Biff opens the door with a grin on his face.
Biff: You little brat.
In the morning, Alice pours Biff a cup of coffee.
Alice: How was it?
Biff: I’m not the one who used it.
Alice: Heh-heh, you’re missing out.
Lila: Missing out on what?
Biff & Alice: Lila!
Lila: Yeah, I know. Always surprising you too; what are you talking about though?
Alice: Maybe I’ll buy you one for your birthday.
Lila: Hm?
Ivan, Oliver, and Scarlet sit on the couch watching TV. Rufus walks into the room carrying a tray of muffins. In the guest bedroom, Chris and Max lie on the bed.
Max: I want to go!
Chris: Heh-heh, of course you can go. Alice wants to have it after we get back in town.
Max: Oh, you think we can have it at Biff’s?
Chris: Hehe, we going to get him to cook again?
Max: You know it.
Biff walks in carrying a plate of muffins.
Biff: What are you two talking about?
Chris: Alice wants to have a bachelorette party for me.
Max: And you just got to make the snacks.
Biff: Ah, and I hope Alice didn’t tell you what she’s planning.
Chris: She said it’s a surprise but I imagine there will be stripping.
Max: Hehe, maybe Biff can do that too.
Biff: So what am I living up to now? Chef, florist, photographer, stripper?
Max: And super sexy secret agent!
Max leaps off the bed and on to Biff. The muffins fly up in the air. At Flaming Snowball, a group of kids walk in while Saikoro is sipping tea.
Saikoro: Can I help you?
Ryan: How much would it cost to have a birthday party here?
Kite: Mind you, a surprise birthday party for a friend.
Saikoro: How much you got?
In the guest bedroom, Alice helps Chris put on her kimono.
Chris: That’s the first time I ever had a watermelon muffin…
Alice: Gramps specialty, he sells them at the festival. Wow Chris, you look gorgeous.
Chris: You think?
Alice: Let’s see what your husband thinks.
Downstairs, Scarlet is sitting in Ivan’s lap eating a muffin. Chris walks down the stairs with Alice.
Chris: Ivan…
Ivan: Hm?
Ivan turns around to see Chris.
Ivan: Wow.
Chris: You like it?
Ivan: Mhmm.
Alice: Wait till you see the dress!
In Lila’s bedroom, Max trips over his kimono and Biff catches him.
Lila: You’ll have to hold him all night for him to walk.
Max: Hehe, I don’t have a problem with that.
Biff: When are we leaving?
Lila: Really soon, Gramps just has to get ready.
Downtown at Kansaluna, Rufus hands a basket of muffins to a woman as Lila hands out stickers to the woman’s kids. Alice giggles watching Oliver and Scarlet smash the watermelons with their hands. Chris and Ivan pick-up gelatin shooters from a booth and swallow them. Max and Biff stand at a booth; the booth worker hands Biff a steamy bun.
Biff: It’s the only thing not watermelon.
Max: Lila told me that Kansaluna is also famous for their meat-stuffed hot buns.
Biff bites into the bun; Max also bites on the other end of the bun. Max grins then falls forward; Biff catches him. Max takes the bun from Biff’s mouth and bites a chunk out of the bun. Biff grins.
Biff: You going to stay like this all night?
Max: Mhmm.
Max tears off a piece of the bun and feeds it to Biff. Outside of Flaming Snowball, Sasukae and Mike stand.
Sasukae: Where the hell is Ryan?
Mike: I don’t know, but I’m getting cold. You want to go in call him?
Sasukae: Yeah, I suppose.
Mike and Sasukae walk into the bar, confetti flies everywhere.
Everyone in the bar: SURPRISE!
Fireworks go off in Kansaluna; Ivan kisses Chris as Scarlet watches the fireworks. Alice hugs Oliver as Lila hugs Rufus. Biff has his hand on Max’s shoulder and slides it down to Max’s tail. Max’s ears perk up and he blushes; he stands up on the tip of his toes to kiss Biff’s cheek. Max falls forward and Biff catches him, grinning. Max smiles back at Biff.
Biff: You ready to go home?
Max: Yeah, I like it here a lot but nothing’s better then your bed.
Biff: Heh-heh…
Biff puts his arms around Max and they watch the fireworks. In the morning; Lila and Rufus wave to everyone as they leave the house. On the train; Chris and Ivan are holding their heads. Alice and Biff look over a pamphlet as Oliver, Scarlet, and Max sleep. Arriving at Flaming Snowball, Saikoro hands Ivan and hand-out. Ivan blinks.
Ivan: What the hell did you do?
Saikoro: First some rich guy came and rented the place out, then this band played and was a sold-out show, and last night was a surprised birthday party paid by Kite Stella and Mike Zea.
Chris: No way…
Alice: Can someone say raise?
Ivan: Heh-heh, wow.
