So Pride is upon us once again. And I'm back. Which means it's time to get in gear.
There are a lot of things that need to get done... so let's start with this:
PM, IM, e-mail, call, or do whatever you have to to encourage your friends who are not active to rejoin us. New members are welcome too, of course.
This is a potentially massive endeavor which will require co-operation from everyone.
I will be using the guild account to PM all users( or as many as possible), and by the end of the month at the latest, I will begin purging users with 0 posts. Remind your friends to add "TheGayGuild" to their Gaia Friendslist, and of course do it yourself if you haven't.
I'm told the front page needs to be revamped, so make your suggestions here.
Any other suggestions for the Gay Guild Renaissance should also go here, and I would like to see "Happy Pride" banners to be put on the front page for the rest of the month. Can you do random image on the front page? If you can, and someone tells me how, perhaps all submitted banners can be incorporated.

Personally, I'm finding more and more people are not reading that first page. Whether it's the intimidation of all the text and the requirements, or sheer laziness, most people don't seem to understand and it's always been time consuming to correct the mistake.
My suggestion is that we either reduce the requirements, or at the very least strip it down from paragraph format to point form. Any other ideas?

A full Revamp. Since the Front page is an introduction, It possibly should be short yet attractive.
Well, I'll try to make something like a layout quickly, like a rough draft tomorrow after work.

Hello. I long to be helpy. Also, sorry for vanishing for a small bit -- I've been out-of-town for most of this past week or so.

I agree that the front page need to be revamped into a more concise set of requirements as well as cleaned up visually. Also i forget what the entrance fee is as the gay guild rules forum is down. Just wondering if anyone wants that to change now that I think of it.
Perhapes we should consider suggested banner size and maybe run a contest? I know I would be willing to donate at least 500g and probably a current donation letter to the prize. As for doing something like running a series of banners I can't think of anything except maybe making a cycling flash and putting it up on photobucket or something.
I think thats all I can think up at the moment. If any of you want my help feel free to ask.

I have gone through and edited some of the first page as a suggestion. Please read the following if you wish to join. This guild is based on the original Gay Guild from the Guilds forum, which was started by SeraphiceAngel and maintained mostly by Kokoryta. All members of that guild are welcome, and so is anyone else, of any orientation, provided you are respectful.
Please do make an effort with your application, no more "I just felt like it"s will be accepted. Why do you feel that you would benefit the guild or the Guild would benefit you?
Please note that we value proper English here. It's OK if English isn't your first language, but please do your best to be coherent, and accept spelling and grammar criticism graciously.
All applicants must read the following. Gaia Guild Network FAQ Gay Guild Rules Gaia Online Rules Gaia Online TOS After you have read the rules, please indicate in your application that you have done so. Applicants who fail to read these materials and mention them in the Join Reason will Not be accepted. -VagueAs you can tell, I didn't change much. I just went through and took out a few things. I just feel like having "REJECTED" multiple times gives it a negative charge. I also tidied up the links a little bit to make it a little less cluttered. As for getting the banner to switch, I know most people use www.cutandpastescripts.com to create signatures that change everytime that page is loaded.

OK, I have made a few basic edits based on CS's suggestions, and temporarily removed the banner. It was kind of large, and I'm considering dimension guidelines for new banners. I still want to see more suggestions, including Monitgo's proposed new layout. Zhoa, your contributions are greatly appreciated.
Don't forget to contact your friends and tell them to stop by.

Montigo Dominic
Everyone wishes to have someone to talk to, Everyone wants to feel like they are a part of something, and that they are ok. Offering a helping hand to those that wish it, that is what we try to do. No matter what orientation you are, you can have friends in us.
This guild is based on the Original Gay Guild from the Guilds forum, which was started by SeraphiceAngel and maintained mostly by Kokoryta. All members of that guild are welcome, and so is anyone else, of any orientation, provided you are respectful.
It would be appreciated if you were able to help us understand why you would like to enter the guild. Rather than, "Because I want to" say how you feel that you would benefit the guild or the Guild would benefit you?
Please note that we value proper English here. It's OK if English isn't your first language, but please do your best to be coherent, and accept spelling and grammar criticism graciously.
Rules rules rule... Well, everywhere had them, and we would appreciate if you understood the Gaian ToS, Our rules in the guild, and Gaia's rules. After these have been read, we would graciously accept your application
When you apply, tell us about how you understand these rules. It's for a better gaia. heh, that was my attempt at making it more inviting. I don't really think throwing all these rules and guidelines in peoples faces is so inviting. So I really think that It had to be less... rough. sweatdrop I don't know... it sucks redface

I really like that image, though I think that Kokoryta can be removed from the front page. She's made it amply clear that she is not a friend of the guild.
As for Seraphice, he just joined, so my comment is null. Those who don't remember him will get to know him again. biggrin

I think the first step might be announcing the winners of the Vague Ego contest. The next step would be to have some other cool thing happening.
I thought I had something else to add, but it left my head. Maybe I'll re-think of it later.
