Alright. My friend has been saying that Haku is a girl and brought up a really good argument.
If Haku is a guy, why are his fingernails and toenails are painted with nailpolish?
Care to explain to me why that is. I haven't seemed to figure out why this is so. And and... I refuse to think it is because Haku is a girl.

he just wants to look pretty with nail polish, guys wear nail polish 2. and Itachi has nail polish tooo and he is a guy

I mean people wouldn't be that cautious around a girl than a guy. I mean that would explain the pink kamoto (sp) and nailpolish. Though I have no idea what to say about itachi XD.

um id like to say something doing with itachi ..everyone in akatsuki wears nail polish except for kismae or however u spell it i mean the fishy dude..cause his nails are blue razz

You have a Brooks near ya? Because they have a nailpolish called Caribbean Frost, which is like a blue green color, Like Haku's!! -^^-

my friend has purple nail polishXDshes like im Itachi so i started wearing purpleish bluish and now im haku..>-> we are weird

Wearing nail polish doesn't make someone a girl. There are some guys that wear it for one reason or another.
Haku is a boy, even the offical books say so but as for why he wears nail polish? I don't know why, maybe he just likes the color or something.
It was never important to the character really so I never really taught about it and it was never said why.
The only ones I know that wear nail polish for a reason is the Akatsuki, I think it is some sort of symbol for them to wear (I believe it was part of some Japanese myth that was used for the manga).

As for Haku though, I think he was in disguise too. But can you really imagine Itachi sitting there painting his finger and toenails? I can, but it just doesn't fit. With Haku, he is a guy, but he is the feminine type, so I can just see him painting his nails.
