After his meeting with Audi, Phib was feeling surprisingly at ease. Perhaps more so then he’d felt in a long while. Was it the fact that Phantom was dead that brought him the comfort? Al part of him wanted it to be. But honestly- as much as Phib had worried and contemplated over Phantom, his death was more of a disappointment then not. But oh, wouldn’t it have been better to have come from that! Instead, he had resolved himself to realizing he was happy simply because Audi seemed to have found a decent state of mind. She didn’t need Phantom anymore- and she seemed quite happy in the pack she was in.
But that also meant he was a sucker, and he hated being a sucker.
Resolved with being one however, the old king found himself lazily walking along the beach. He meant to check up on Logan and Echo later on in the day. Amélie had mostly been taking the job of keeping up with them, but it was hardly right of him to let too much time go by before addressing the whole situation with them. And perhaps he needed to apologize. Did he? It was his responsibility, after all. A gull in the distance squawked and landed on a mound of rocks which speckled the shore. Phib rose his head and peered at it suspiciously. He’d never liked birds. They were far too carefree.

He couldn't believe the news. He was going to be a father! Rio never would have guessed that such a drastic turn in his life would lead to this, an overwhelming sense of happiness and pride. His mate was resting in the safety of their den, and Rio had set out to spread the news, starting with their alpha.
He followed the scent of the older wolf as he wove through the trees, further and further away from the lake. It seemed fitting to find himself at the ocean side, a place that offered him much comfort, yet another reason that he loved these lands, not just for his packmates (those that he'd met in the meeting at least), but also for the abundance of his element. He truely felt more at home here than he would have anywhere else. The best of both worlds, for a wolf tied to an entitiy as all encompassing as water.
A breeze played with his sash, as well as the fur atop his head that hung in long strands. Sometimes it blew into his eyes, making the Mexican wolf's eyes blink from time to time, but ultimately it wasn't enough to hinder his finding of Phib. The male wasn't hard to spot against the blue and gray backdrop, it seemed like it was due to rain today.
"Hola, Phib!"

The wind lightly played against the black wolf’s sloping neck. He had never cared for the sea- but, it was growing on him. He liked the smell of the salt brine, something which he had hated at first. But it was different then the rest of the woods- and anyone who was from this region smelled of it. It made his pack easy to find even when they had long since passed an area. Perhaps a problem, if they were ever to be stalked- but despite that he appreciated it. It made them have a presence. And he functioned at least half on presence.
But near the sea- it sometimes made them harder to identify. He was unaware of Rio approaching until he spoke- but when he did, Phib turned around amiably and approached him from the shore. The other male looked rather eager- but Phib didn’t take it as a signal of anything. Rio had always seemed to be a cheery sort.
And as much as he hated it- at the moment, he was somewhat less pessimistic then he’d like. His tail swayed softly behind him- although it was just a notch. But for him, it was quite a lot. “Good afternoon, Rio.” Phib spoke thickly, and leaned to a stop to let the male come the rest of the distance. He was still approaching, and in the wind the strange banner he kept on his head puffed about around him. Amelie had mentioned once that she wanted one. He had replied that he wouldn't know the damndest how to get something like that attatched to her head. She seemed to find it funny.
"You look well."
