Have you been flamed for liking a certain pairing?
  Yes.
  No.
Not really, but I was viewed oddly for it or isolated in a sort of way.

Some idiot fangirl probably no older than 10 decided to be illiterate and flame-comment me on my profile. It went like this:

GaaraXRei
hey hey hey guess what? You freakin suck! WTF is with GaaSaku??they are sooooooo gaayyyyy together Gaaras too good for Sakura besides hes mine!!

Haha, this is simply sad. I swear 10 year olds should not be allowed on the internet because of this. This is what I commented on her profile, she's a bit of a noob more than likely, so she won't be able to erase it. Seriaz, everytime I see a comment like this I don't know whether to laugh, cry or s**t myself.

I would highly appreciate it if you would refrain from posting such worthless comments on my profile in the future, please come back in 10 years.
I suck for liking a pairing? You look more ridiculous for being obsessed with a fictional character.
Sakura at least has some possibility with ending up with Gaara unlike you because she's from the same fictional story - oh, and also unlike you, she has matured.
How old are you anyway? 10? Or 5? Because I mentioned on my profile to go b***h somewhere else, or can't you read?

PWNT.

Seriously, I think Kishimoto should pair Sakura and Gaara up if only to shock these girls and show them the reality of the situation.

Doesn't this seem oddly farmiliar to our discussion in the 'Would their children have eyebrows?' thread? biggrin
Reya knows all.

This isn't the first time I've gotten flamed for this either. As I've mentioned before, GaaSaku is probably the most flamed pairing. Gaara being a prime, if not the prime, target for fangirlism in NARUTO and Sakura being the most bashed character in the series just for being a normal girl. She's not only flamed by jelous and intolerant "seeing yourself in the mirror" fangirls themselves, but by yaoi fantards that subconsciously believe she's interfering in a nonexistant SasuNaru relationship or BL in NARUTO because she's simply a girl with a significant role in the story.

Hell, even when I was a -slightly- insane fangirl when I was 11, I never stooped so low to bash the female the character was very often paired up with or the main female. Even for that, everytime I look back on it I cringe.

Discooz: (Sorry, been in the GCD too long. xd )
- Being flamed for like a certain pairing, particularly GaaSaku.
- How these fangirls are "ironic" by hating characters similar to themselves.
- If GaaSaku became cannon, how would the fantards' fangirls' reactions be?

D:
I hate fandomtards, irrational, illogical, and a little sad.
THey have no life, so in a sad attempt to have one they obsess over a fictional character. Because this caracter can do them no wrong.
fo-sho
I'm sorry that people have attacked you about Gaa/Saku D:>!
And Sakura haters have allways made me laugh abit, because i think they hate so Sakura because she is there having relationships with Naruto characters, and they cannot.
This is also the reason I stayaway from Naruto forums, crazy Yoai loving fangirls.

Yet another reason why I usually shrink away from the net fandom. I've pretty much stopped visiting places where there are huge concentrations of anime fans, because I just know that, somehow or another, the majority of them are just going to end up annoying me to no end. Anime tends to make idiots out of people who get so obsessed to the point that they think it's a bragging right.

Fantards annoy me. I've had my share of poking fun at characters, but I'd never attack someone if they're a fan. I just don't see the logic in that. There's just a piece of the puzzle that just doesn't quite fit, you know? I guess you could say it goes around the other way too. I've received some pretty brutal comments before for just stating that I don't quite like Sasuke's character. His fangirls were on me in seconds, screaming that "omg, u r so stupid 4 not lykeing Saucekay omgomg i hatez u *flameflamebadwords*".

I understand your frustration with the whole "claiming" a character as one's own. I usually see it as a phase that younger anime fans grow out of eventually, although there have been some extreme cases with middle-aged women still going around and claiming to be married to Sephiroth.

And, ah, Sakura haters. Female leads always get the worst of it, just because they're females and because girls tend to get jealous and catty to quickly, even if it is towards a fictional character. In any case, I don't think anyone can change my opinion in that Sakura's a very deep, strong, developing character.

Sometimes the best you can do is just ignore it. Maybe laugh at it too. Because there are always going to be idiots like that as long as any fandom exists.

Yeah, same, I never go to the AMC except for the NARUTO manga thread, and even though I'm thinking of giving it a break because 95% of the time we're discussing the Akatsuki and I'm sick of 'em. Though you see that Get out of my fandom image? I sometimes use it on NARUTO spam threads, 'tis fun.

I rarely hate characters, but either way I can't help disliking Sasuke. I know that Gaara fantards are quick to defend him, but Gaara isn't attacked as much as Sasuke. I also don't flame people if they aren't a fantard of a certain character, though I do often mention that I dislike Sasuke, most people that have GaaSaku as their OTP dislike him. xd
However, I was recently and intelligently convinced that he really wasn't that bad, and anyone would have done similar to him according to cultural reasoning. But for me, someone who was also very lonely in their childhood (hence my love for Gaara), throwing away people that care for you voluntarily is just... No. Anyway, fangirls have the possibility of not annoying me, as long as they're not rabid character claimers that flame me for liking a pairing with their object of obsession.
Hell, if Gaara were real, I'm pretty sure he would stay as away as possible from their obsessive asses. stare

Anyway, yeah, you also figured that out? For me it was common sense. I'm experienced as a female bully victim, and I can tell you that this shows how brutal female bullying is and for the most stupidest reasons.

I wasn't here, but I can more or less imagine the DBZ scandal when Vegeta ended up being married to Bulma. rofl

Hahah, oh yes. I love it when stuff like that happens and the whole fandom turns into a frenzy. Like in the Harry/Ginny scandal. Aaah, good times. :'D

For me, it pretty much came to me naturally because I really usually don't get along with girls anyways. A lot tend to be really backstabby and catty, which is what I really try to avoid. I've had some pretty awful things said about and done to me by other girls too. I mean, I have girl friends, but they're very few. Girls who aren't catty are just plain awesome. They're hard to come by too (at least where I live now).

Hmm, most anime fans annoy me purely out of the fact that they see anime as a sort of competition. When someone tries to convince everyone else that they love so-and-so character much more than any other fan by bashing a certain character, it's just pathetic, especially when they can't differentiate between reality and fiction and get infuriated when someone kindly points that out. I like fans who aren't competitive and who don't try to rub their fandom all over the place. <3 I guess that's another reason why I love the GaaSaku community so much. It's a lot smaller than all of the other pairings (although it is growing a bit now) and therefore has fewer fantards. I really hope I'll never have to see a GaaSaku fan bashing another person for their OTP.

Part of me hopes that Kishimoto will pull of some sort of WTF!pairing just so that I can see the fan reaction to it. He's probably too smart for that though since he hasn't really made any pairings official. I'm sure he wouldn't want to get lynched by angry mobs.

I saw Harry/Ginny coming since the first book xp . But that's not what I'm talking about, I'm talking about the fangirlism target. You know, the antiheros and the like.

Yeah, I know they can be catty, but I'm pretty sure the majority grow out of it sooner or later. Then again, I've only had one true friend and HE is gay. rofl

Heh, that's a good thing with GaaSaku. Most people that like it are people that are smart enough to see beyond the mainstream and what looks at first sight. Not many people think about GaaSaku even though it has been hinted at and it is plausible. It sometimes seems like the fandom always divided into 6 parts:

1. The rabid fangirl fantards.
The ones we are discussing right now. xD

2. The BL fantards.
You know, the ones that believe the whole Konoha is ******** gay. These annoy me only so terribly because they like to twist cannon to suit their masturbational needs even though they won't admit it or its locked somewhere in their subconscious. gonk

3. The mainstream pairing fantards.
Also known as "canon-freaks", "canon-whores" and very often "couple extremists". These are the people that ship what they believe is the most cannon depending on when they got into the story. These also constitute for the plurality of the older fandom. Sometimes they're opened minded, but when they immature, just slightly above the 1 type, they will flame you for liking a pairing that isn't cannon, telling you that "such and such" other pairing is cannon even though it may not be. I've had a lot of experiences with this one alot. Oddly enough, this is when I was into Sonic the Hedgehog which doesn't have any cannon couples, and more than likely will never have.

4. The "mass orgy" fantards.
The title explains it, these are the types that like about ever pairing in the NARUTO-verse and rarely have OTPs. Though sometimes they eclipse the 3 type with people liking almost every pairing, but have OTPs in the cannon range. The ones that aren't though, very often dislike the mainstream, but many support it too as part of their "large collection". They seem to like every pairing, though they often have their exceptions.
(I wish I was part of this group, that way I wouldn't care who got paired up in the manga. crying )

5. The nitpicker fantards.
(I'm part of this one. xd )
These are hard to predict. They can support mainstream sometimes but have some other pretty random pairings. They're not insane, but they're random. The distinguishing feature about nitpickers is that they prefer to pair up characters based more on personality rather than story, as if you gave them a character's profile with very spoilers - just saying how their personality is - is how they'll get their pairings and the result can be either crack or mainstream, but most of the time they know where to draw the line. Nitpickers normally like 2 to 3 pairings that can have the same character or just one pairing per 2 characters. However, most of the time once they like a pairing(s), they can really stick to it and often harder to move than a boulder.

6. The weakminded fantards.
Just what the name says. The people in this group are easy to influence and often considered a stage one of the #4 type and for good reasons. When they first get into a fandom, they normally like one single pairing or two at the beginning but then pile it on. Give them one good fanfic or a good piece of fanart and they automatically support a pairing no matter how outrageous it could be or how much you argue against it with reason. They just found a good KankuTema artist.

Unfortunately with GaaSaku, it is true that the fantards are much smaller in number but only because the fanpairing for it is not big. Lately, I've seen more GaaSaku badfics popping up that I would like. confused

And I think it would be a good idea for Kishimoto, he was a fan of DBZ. rofl

I'm a 'mass-orgy' fangirl.

BUT.

I am also a cracker.

I like crackpairings, a lot.

And yes, I do it for my own selfish needs, but I never claim it to be canon or anything.

Like DeiGaa.

Love it.

But only because they're hot like hell and they're my favourite characters.

So, it's natural for me to like this pairing, but never in my wildest dreams would I run around claiming this pairing to be anything CLOSE to canon.

That's just sick and twisted.

I have never gotten a flame for liking a pairing but I'd love to get one just so I could b***h back to them. xd

Now that I think about it, I'm a fangirl...for pairings. Crack fangirl to exact.(When it comes to Naruto at least. xD)

If GaaSaku became canon, I'd think the fangirls' would all be going on a bitching rant for about 5 days. Of course, I'd be there to laugh my a** off because they thought they could get with a fictional character. Hilarious, no?

Yes, it's ironic for the fangirls' that they technically hate themselves, but oh well...I am a little sadistic at times. Then again, maybe they deserve it.

Of course Sakura is bashed. All lead females are. But the lead females are (usually) bashed by the idiotic bizzatches of life. : D Fun, huh? But she is still the character who has had the most development...or so I believe.

And that's all I have to say. Wow, for a 12 year old, I'm proud of myself for not falling into the stream of fangirlism when it comes to fake characters!:]

Haha, you should have been here 2 years ago with your signature. You more than likely would have gotten flamed. Seriously, if you think that the NARUTO fandom is bad now, you should have seen the INUYASHA fandom back then. I would constantly declaring war against fangirltards that claimed InuYasha and coupletards that kept bashing Kikyo in favor of InuYashaxKagome and vice-versa (though the second was more rare). Fun times. Then I remember someone made a thread with SesshomaruxInuYasha BL art, back when it wasn't 1/20th as popular as it is now. The results were just plain AWESOME. rofl Now I kind of regret it because BL became the new masturbation material with cannon rape afterwards. -_-

As a 12 year old, you're a rare find for being intelligent and less "tarded" ( xd ). I mean, if GaaSaku became cannon then I'd first party and then see if I have enough time to get a glimpse of the chaos. Fun fun! oh that was a good laugh mrgreen

Rabid fangirls...oh jeez. xd I've been flamed for liking pairings cuz I'm a cracker pairing kinda person and most of....or actually, all of my fav pairings are crack besides ShikaTema and SasuNaru, which is probably cannon now, I'm not sure. But I am pretty much open to all pairings(besides incest) but I do have my favorites.

BUT back to the rabid fangirls, who make me giggle alot because of their naive and narrow way of thinking. SO It makes my day especially when they say 'no he cant go with her because hes mine.' They give themselves to much credit, especially the super rabid sasuke fangirls. I mean, Please. I got flamed for liking SasuHina heart , which I find a very enjoyable read in fanfictions, and they go off saying that Hinata doesnt deserve Sasuke or something like that. Then go on to say that she should be with naruto, which then intern means that naruto is of lower significance to sasuke and that sasuke is to good blah blah blah and hes hot and they should be together and she loves him... But then again, thats why theyre Sasuke fan girls. And the whole Ino and Sakura bashing is funny to an extent (FYI Ino is my FAV character, but I love making fun of my fav characters, tis the person I am) but when it gets to a stupid rabid fan girl level with a totally dumb reason for hating the character, is when it pisses me off.

When people hate Sakura for liking sasuke...its like...okay. She has a crush. End of story. Or something in the extent of "wtf sakura is dumb u suck" xp wtf No actually sakura was one of the smartest people to graduate form their class, maybe not the strongest, but the smartest. Now if they hated Sakura for ending her friendship with Ino because she liked sasuke, now thats a good reason to dislike her. But like most people have said, Sakura is hated because shes a main character like many other main females *cough* kagome from Inuyasha *cough*

ninja But still, theyre fictional, you dont need to make a lifestyle out of hating pairings or characters. Tis a waste of the fandom and probably ruins it for many people if the things they are so set on happening dont. Tis the reason I am not and have never been a fan girl 3nodding

The oh so wonderful rant of me.

Lol I didnt realize I wrote so much biggrin

What's 'canon' mean?
...I know, stupid question but I've never really figured out what it means! gonk

The Inuyasha fandom sounds scary D:-shudders- Although I have to say, I don't like Kikyo. She's bad. she needs to die...again.
But then again, Kagome should dump Inuyasha.: D She's way too good for him.

-ahem- Getting back on topic, oh yes! Partying sounds fun! whee Woot, I'm not tarded! xd I just read one of your earlier posts and I think I'd either fit into the 5th or 6th ones. I love NejiSaku and GaaSaku for my top two picks and would never change that. :D Although, I have many other favortie pairing all with Sakura...that are crack!(Except NaruSaku...>.>) Then again, I was easily swayed from SasuSaku once I read this really awesome fic...that's how I got interested in the pairings mentioned above. Then I completely converted to those two as I let my hate Sasuke grow.>D

Personally, I'm disturbed by SasuHina '>.>, it scares me. Although, my logic is different from what you stated. I think Hinata is way too good for Sasuke. But I also think NaruHina should happen.:] I don't want to start going into rantings for why but...I think you get it.
(LOL, I support NaruHina AND NaruSaku. xD NaruHina FTW!...NaruSaku, amlost.)

I've gotten flamed a bunch of times for liking crack pairing. I just talked their ear off while using big words and logic and they pretty much shut up after that. I mean, I an obsest stalkish, Gaara fangirl and everything but I don't attack people (or fictional characters) because I like the same hott, red-headed, japanese guy. I know the difference between fact and fiction and I just wish more people did too sweatdrop . It's kinda sad when girls prefer fictional characters more than a real guys.

Agreed! I mean I'm a fangirl but I'm not obsessed with any fictional character to the point where I think that they are actually "mine". All it proves is that most younger fangirls/fanboys of fictional anime characters are not mature enough to grasp "reality". Personally, I think that Gaara and Sakura make the best match because 1. they are both around the same age, 2. opposites attract (Sakura is caring and helpful to others most of the time while Gaara is self-centered and selfish.), 3. and in my opinion...they complete each other. sweatdrop A bit off topic but still...

If GaaSaku became cannon, I think that some very obsessed Gaara fangirls would go crazy and spontaneously combust. xd
