Schools are always saying they have the best intentions for all their students and you'd be shocked, I'm sure, at the lack of GSA's that are available for students who prefer same sex relationships. For those who are just now discovering yourself, GSA- Gay Straight Alliance. There is another support group, PFLAG that also has relatively few chapters available to the younger generation. You can have the Key Club, the chess club...etc. but when someone suggests offering a tolerance support club to spread awareness and understanding, some jerk of course shoots it down for the "imorality" of it all. If you feel the way I do, act on it! Make a GSA or a PFLAG for your school. Google the official website and contact them to help start a new charter for your school. Intolerance will not stop until someone stands against it. You have a right to happiness and no one can stop that. It's one of your basic liberties. So fight for it!

Proudly to say our school has a GSA. This week is Ally week, if no knows what that means it's just showing people coming together that are not against homosexuals. And also not picking on others because of being gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual, or etc. Ways you can help support is pass out flyers letting people know about ALLY week. Also, what we did one year is wear red string necklaces with red and white beads. If you'd like to know more about events that go on to support GSA or etc just pm me.

Every revolution begins with the power of an idea...
My school doesn't have one, but then, my school doesn't really seem to have much problem with bullying GLBT kids.
My school must be stranger than I thought.
...And ends when the only idea left is power.

My school doesnt have one... It's christian... and thinks being anything but straight is a deadly sin... some of my friends who are gay have been like seen kissing or holding hands outside school and been pulled out of class and talked to by the principle about what bad choices they're making...

Stay out of the groups. You are all too young to put yourselves into the danger that is being out. Nothing good can come of it.

Our school lacks a GSA as of right now...
but... I just finished our constitution mrgreen
we're one of the few schools in the entirety of the Jeffereson County School District that doesn't have a GSA... D'Evelyn Jr. / Sr. High is a really conservative school... for example... a dress-code was recently added: "no overly-tight clothes on men"... gee, I wonder who it was targeted at, hehe...
but yeah... our school is notorious for being introverted... and it has a problem with their idea of what a homosexual/ bisexual person is like... there are two guys at the entire school that are open about their orientation... a senior and myself... so yeah... I'm not sure I know any girls open about their orientation...
I can't wait to get our GSA going... it's going to rock the boat until it capsizes, but, we need one.

We've got one at our school, and at first we were strong. The year slowly started going on and discrimination got to some kids, they quit because of it. Then some started dating each other, and fights broke out because of it. Some of us aren't able to stay after so we normally only have about 6 members. Some straight students in our group didn't go to the photo for GSA, because they thought they would be made fun of. The few left we have in our group are passionate, and if we leave, nothing will be accomplished. We have some people, mainly our friends, who aren't members but add to the contribution of the tolerance of homosexuals. We aren't a well known group, and I hear in my homeroom the mutterings of what people say about the GSA when it's on announcements, but hey, we are trying.
We have quite a few people out, including myself, but there are far more closeted.
