I got an email about it a few days ago, and they've just recently changed the launch. It was going to be tommorrow, but they say that it should be "very soon".

All XBL Gold Members will be able to download the beta and play, but download will only be available during the day of the release, and the day after. Watch that page for the new release date. I'll try to update this when they release it.

UPDATE: The game will be downloadable this weekend, presumably this Saturday and Sunday. After this weekend it will not be downloadable. I will repeat this is only playable for gold members.

UPDATE 2: The beta is out. Check the Xbox Live Marketplace under games. Newly released downloads under the name "phantasy star universe" for all XBL Gold members in Europe, America, and Japan.

I'm going to be a different class every day just to try everything.

I'm not going to buy the full game though. Monthly fees make me sad. I'd rather spend that 10 bucks a month on Arcade games.

meh i might get the full game. PSO was pretty fun on the xbox

For the full version, yes. You don't need gold for the full version though. Silver will do.

im probally not going to buy this game. just play demo. the online play is free xD.

The companies that have Xbox live features don't see any of the money from XBL gold subscriptions with exception of that which is obtained from the Xbox live Marketplace via Microsoft Points. Sega, and SquareEnix have to maintain, and update the servers themselves. While I might not be paying for online, I do understand why they do it. If they want to gain a profit from online, they need to charge for it.
