So what do you say, guys? Is the Fullmetal Alchemist manga better? Or do you perfer the anime? Have you seen/read both? Post your opinions here! Discuss: Is the manga or the anime better? What do you like better about the manga? What do you like least? What do you like better about the anime? What do you like least? Why are most of the anime characters so emo? emo *Image made by Letishia with Microsoft Paint and Microsoft Word using a still frame from the anime (episode 2) and a clip from the manga (chapter 51). In order of answering your questions:
Is the manga or the anime better? The manga's better in my opinion. Let's see... cool ninjas and a cute, Greedy prince of a foreign land, or an evil rotting lady and annoying Maes-imitating *nazis*? I'll take the ninjas any day, thank you. ^-^;; What do you like better about the manga? Ling and Ran Fan. Ling and Ran Fan. Oh, and did I mention, Ling and Ran Fan. What do you like least? The fact that it's mostly in black and white (and translated pathetically by VIZ). What do you like better about the anime? Paku Romi is a great voice actress, as well as Vic Mignogna. Plus, the music... oh, the music is wonderful. What do you like least? Ahem. There's no Ling or Ran Fan, and there's several pathetic Maes imitations that show up. (Including, but not limited to, *a nazi version*...) Why are most of the anime characters so emo? Because Fullmetal Alchemist is a depressing anime/manga series. We can't have too many ultra-hyper characters in a depressing series (Ling and company excluded).

xd Love the pic, Letishia. Anyway, onto the answers... Is the manga or the anime better? I like both a lot, so it's hard to decide. Both has unique characters and an interesting plotline. What do you like better about the manga? Umm... The fact that it's still going to satisfy my FMA craving, and it's being written the way the author wishes it. What do you like least? Viz is releasing it too slow for me. xp What do you like better about the anime? The music - definately. And the voice actors were excellent. What do you like least? It's over. emo And that a lot of the cool characters died in the end. Why are most of the anime characters so emo? Ummm... because they didn't get cookies? xd Because of all the tragedy, like the war in Ishbal.

Is the manga or the anime better? Manga!!! blaugh
What do you like better about the manga? The plot and the characters! EdWin moments (OK, they're really tiny, but they're there), the beautiful art, and the Xingese crew. biggrin biggrin biggrin
What do you like least? I don't really dislike anything. Just the fact that I know that one day, the series will end. And I will be very depressed. crying I'm already sad about the ending of Harry Potter and book 7 doesn't come out until summer.
What do you like better about the anime? I get to see Ed move around and talk!!! AMVs!!! Chibi party!!! The fights scenes rock my world!!! biggrin
What do you like least? The character's seem much less cool in the anime (Ed's winey, Al's a pushover, Winry's a bit bitchy, Riza's really monotone, and Roy has the IQ of a toaster), the homunculi wanting to be human is pathetic in my opinion, and I haven't heard anything about a sequel to Shambala so if the end of the movie was the end of the story... well... it kinda sucked. I do love the movie, but I think it shouldn't be left there. What about the bomb? What about Roy? What about Winry?
Why are most of the anime characters so emo? Because the animators screwed with the brilliant characterazation of Arakawa-sensei.

I said "Do you speak German" then followed it up with "I love you, Edo!" xd
I don't really know that much German, though. I was a foreign exchange student in Germany for just four weeks this summer and picked some stuff up there (mostly football (soccer) cheers 'cause the World Cup was going on). 'Twas awesomeness.
Oh... but while I was leaving through the gate at the airport to get to the terminal, my sister and I were all like: "OMG, the younger yet shorter sibling is leaving through 'the gate' to go to Germany!" blaugh
I was wearing my Ed keychain for good luck at that time too. xd

That sounds fun. Although I've never been out of the United States, being an exchange student seems like it would be a great experience. What perfect timing too, with the FMA movie coming out this year! xp
My highlight of the summer was going to Otakon in Baltimore with one of my friends (firefoxxq, another mod). We got to go shopping, see the premiere of the FMA movie (along with 1000 other screaming otaku), and meet some voice actors/actresses, such as Christine Auten (Izumi), Caitlin Glass (Winry), and Mike McFarland (ADR Director and Havoc). It was a lot of fun and I'm planning to go next year. mrgreen
We get off topic a lot.

That was my first con. It was kinda overwhelming at first, and not at all what I expected it to be - but in a good way. The cosplayers were AMAZING - you'd see them walking the streets and the locals going "wtf?" rofl

;.; I've only been to this sucky Wizard one, with barely any cosplays. I really want to go to Otakcon or AnimeFest.
Anyway, next chapter rawr. I particulary don't like this chapter This chapter felt like kinda a build up for the next. surprised Now I want the next one.
Edit: Sorry, I forgot what thread this was xd Again, I love the Manga. Even though the Anime got me hooked, I love da manga.
I love other cultures and languges. I'm going to sign up for the exchange program neutral Although at my district, I think we have to learn 2 languages incase we don't get the country we want.
