Well, it was something I was bound to bring up at some point anyway; it might as well have it's own thread.....whee whee

Music has always been a huge part of my life. I've been singing since before I could properly talk, and for a good amount of my pre-Christian life, music was the only thing I found meaning in. Now, I serve on several worship teams whenever I get the chance, I rejoice in being part of an advanced choral ensamble and a Jazz sextet, and I've cpme to recognize that music isn't the greatest thing in my life, as I once believed, but a way to express joy for the greatest thing in my life.

So here's a little thread where you can talk about music: Christian or secular, vocal or instumental, performed or listened to---

I think it's truely a testament to God's appeciation of beauty that he came up with such an amazing thing. 3nodding

"Christian Music" in itself is a misconception and a misnomer. Its only the lyrics that separate it from the rest of the music and because the genre of "christian music" can be in rock, rap, etc. So, there are not really christian music but christian songs because of what is said in those songs are what make it "christian music". Yet, God loves all kinds of music with or without lyrics. In other words, music is life and God loves it when we do it for Him and when it pleases Him. whee 3nodding

I dislike most Christian music. lol. Just too ... blah..too soft and boring or something. The only Christian bands I find worthy are Tourniquet (disregarding their latest album), Extol, Impelliteri, Narnia, Dream Evil, and that's mostly it I think...

Well you can see from my sig, I'm a true warrior of metal. I listen to everything from black metal to progressive metal/rock, though with a very discerning taste.

well if you wanna check out some of my music, feel free to go to my site

Judging from what I heard on your site you might like Demon Hunter. A christian death metal band. Try em out some time. *shrugs* you may hate them, you may not. Worth a try.

I like a lot of different music. Usually if you name a type of music I can usually tell you a band that I like from it.

Third Day would have to be the best i guess, but Audio Addrenaline and PC3 and Kutless, Switchfoot, Delirius would all be just under though.
Have any of you's heard of Hillsong or Hillsong United Live at all?

Oh, uh, someone invited me here. I'm a music forum mod so I was instantly zapped to this thread. I listen to everything, which is good and bad. It's great to have a variety of sounds under your belt, but the music can influence you in a bad way. For example, I listen to a lot of metal. Usually most metal doesn't have a very pro-God outlook. @_@;;;

My favourite Christian bands are Extol, Swans, and King's X. I'm hoping to see the latter one this Friday. :B

Favourite non-Christian bands are Electric Light Orchestra, Yes, Opeth, Anathema, Ayreon, Mos Def, Outkast, and Liquid Tension Experiment.
