The ebony stallion debated upon what to do, it was like everyother night...Cyrus was getting bent out of shape because Lily hadn't shown in quite some time Cynara was off with all her 'friends' and that left him to do whatever he so pleased...which was not as much fun as he thought it would be. He knew what it was like to be alone and as much as he loved it in the past life he had soon come to hate it. Sure he was still distant, gruff and slightly agressive towards others he did not know deep down he was one big softie who could give a mare anything she so dreamed...wait did we just switch from 'friends' to 'girlfriends?' Interesting...Erik thinking about girls...

He fluttered his wings anxiously a few crimson ones had made themselvesa nice little home upon the ground as an October wind blew through. He loved the season yet hated it. It was the damned time of the year when is life had went to hell in a hand basket. His white hooves touched the ground ever so slightly as he made his way to a small crick to soothe his parched throat, his neck arched and his muscles strained exposing their fullness and his masculine side. He lifted his head, ebony ringletted hair curled dow, as his silver orbs cast aside. No one...not a single soul, while he was at it and his throat was juiced he let out a hum and then sing a past song his last love had: "Passing bells and sculpted angels, cold and monumental, seem, for you, the wrong companions -you were warm and gentle . . .Too many years fighting back tears . . .Why can't the past just die . . .? Wishing you were somehow here again . . .knowing we must say goodbye . . .Try to forgive . . .teach me to live . . .give me the strength to try . . .No more memories, no more silent tears . . .No more gazing across the wasted years . . .Help me say goodbye."

Jailbait sighed as she walked along the edge of the woods. Usually a social creature, she had found herself alone for the last two weeks. It seemed every time she was around a male, they wanted only one thing from her. Was she not good enough for anything more? Isn't that what she wanted? To flirt around? To not be tied down?

But the more she looked at the mares happy with their stallions, the more she wanted that. A stallion to look at her and see more than something to pass the time when he was in a 'mood'. She wanted someone to genuinely care that she existed. Like that would ever happen.

If she were to just be something trivial, then she would treat the guys the same way. If she were to be something more.. then she would treat the guys as if they were more. No more having hope, she'd simply give back what she got, good or bad.

She heard someone singing. She could tell from the voice that it was a male but of what race or creature she did not know. Cautiously, she walked towards the sound until the stallion became visible. She froze then, and just listened to his song. She had never heard another of her kind sing before. He had such a lovely voice.

And there he stood, King of Grace and Elegance an Angel of Music. He who stood in his mysterious mask, ringlet mane falling to the grasses. He mourned the loss of his lover yet rejoiced for the day when a new one should come if ever. He haulted, alert and obediant to the sounds around him...he had heard rustling nearby and could feel the eyes of another watching.

He looked from the corner of his eye to see a female, an ebony female dark as he with stockings it looked like. She was beautiful, but who wasn't compared to him he though. He wore a mask because of his replusive features which seemed to demand attention from everyone when it wasn't on. His silvery orbs looked to her, she was cautious...scared? He didn't think so. With a soft inward sigh he nickered to her to see if she would come to him. His voice the same silky tone he had sang with, one that could melt anyone he felt needed to be like an ice cream cone on a hot July day.

Jailbait felt drawn to the stallion. She couldn't explain it. She wanted to avoid him and all males but something about him.. mesmerized her. Excited her. He was an enigma.

He wore a mask which seemed to cover a good portion of his face and the way he sang.. the fact he sang.. it was all new to her. She had to know who this stallion was, she had to satisfy her curiousity.

She found herself walking forward until she stood a couple feet away from him. "You.. sing beautifully," she whispered not knowing what else to say. He was simply gorgeous. He had a long black mane and tail. His ebony wings had red tips that reminded her of blood and on one of his hind legs was a beautiful rose. "My name is Jailbait," she added after taking her fill of him. "May I ask who you are?"

Erik knew she was their he could feel her prescence he knew the feeling of eyes watching him, he turned to the mare and his eyes widened softly not enough to show. His grey orbs looked into hers almost hypnotizing, his ears flickered to her and her compliment.

"Thank you lady Jailbait." he bowed to her his knee bending and one of his crimson tipped wings unfolding, "I am called Phantom," concealing his true name as usual. He listened to her soft voice, if she tried he imagined she had a beautiful voice as well..he wasn't the greatest conversation starter but he attempted, "May I ask what your doing out here?" he asked in his deeply throated French accent yet gently.

"Phantom," she repeated. What a wonderful name. Dark and mysterious, just like the stallion that beared it. He was a charming devil, she could tell. Was he dangerous? That was harder for her to discern.

How was she to answer his question without embarassing herself? Don't most males hate random female problems and emotional nonsense? Still, she believed in honesty. "I had gone for a walk to contemplate.. my life," she replied. At least it was true even if it was lacking in details. "I'm sorry for intruding but I heard you singing and had to see where the voice was coming from," she added. She suddenly felt foolish before this stallion.

He looked to her, he could see that she was caring how she presented herself in front of him...she was rather pretty...goregous and she didn't seem the least bit frightened of him, yet. He nodded when she answered his questions, she trusted him enough to answer him even when she didn't have to.

"It's quite alright mademoiselle, you are not intruding at all." he smiled gently trying to make her more comfertable and tehn he started to wonder why he was trying to make her more comfertable around him, the want of feeling of wanting to be liked or just to have company? Who knew, she was the least bit irritating to some of the females he had met and even some males this had sparked quite an interest in him.

Jailbait wasn't sure if she should leave or engage the stallion in conversation. Wasn't this the kind of thing she wanted to avoid? Didn't all males just want one thing and once they get it, they were no longer interested? Not that she ever gave that one thing. Stallions lost interest in her early on. She just.. wasn't what they were looking for.

Still, this stallion didn't seem interested in her in that way. He made her feel like.. she was being accepted as one of their kind, not just as a female. He was even quite the gentleman. Would it be wrong to stick around for a little while longer? Who knew when she'd get a chance to meet another stallion of this calibre again? Perhaps never.

"When did you start singing? I've never heard anything that sounded more natural, yet it's not a common thing for stallions. Not that I'm complaining mind you. It's really.. nice. Did someone teach you how to sing?" There she goes, coming off stupid again. She sighed to herself and shook her head. He would think she a simple filly if she couldn't find something else to talk about.

He looked to her as she asked her questions, he thought back..."I started as a foal I guess..." remebering the horrid days. "No one taught me I learned on my own. I uh...learned when I left where I was born and went to whats called an opera house?" these were back in the old days France. The memories he had tried to shun out for so long. He started to remember her again, he couldn't be mad at her anymore...he was never mad at her just him. "I came from beyond the seas." he replied softly.

He knew this mare had running thoughts through her mind and he didn't mind at all and he wouldn't bother to ask. The only mare that had took interest in him was she, but then again she left him after she found out who he really was and went with her lover. He sighed, no one else had taken interest so he hadn't taken any interest in anyone else either. However this female was undoubtledy goregous, but he figured she wasnt interested so he in turn would leave it at that.
