Bastien walked into the ring, rather laid back. He knew that his nephew was going to be fighting soon in a different arena, but he didn't much mind, or, at least, he wouldn't let it distract him. All he had to do was focus on the match . . .

Drathir also entered the arena, his eye that usually was twinkling with mirth now quite serious as he looked at Bastien. Like his nephew, Kaiden, he knew exactly what this fight was to bring. "Hey, good luck." he called to Bastien, turning to face his opponant

Bastien nodded, acknowledging the comment and returning it. He wasn't much of an outgoing person and instead prepared his first attack against Drathir who had an elemental advantage over him.

Drathir shivered a little from the cold before he looked back up at Bastien and held his claws to his drake's mouth. The drake blew a stream of fire onto them, turning them bright red with heat. He then dived towards Bastien, slicing at his chest. "Blazer claw!"

Though the beam was less cold than the last, Drathir still shivered slightly from the blow. The ice that had stuck to him, however, quickly melted away. He slashed claws at Bastien again. "Blazer claw!" His claws slashed through the air with the sound of a sword slicing through wind, aiming at his chest once again.

Drathir felt the ice crystals swarming over him, but as much as he tried to melt them away, they stuck to his flesh. It wasn't long before he was absolutely frozen and attempting to thaw.

Drathir, only around half-strength now, heated up his claws once again. He dived towards Bastien, his eye serious and focused. "Blazer claw!" he said strongly, as if proclaiming it.

Bastien looked to the ground . . . the fight was almost as good as over. Even if Drathir was only half as strong as he had been at the beginning of the fight, he was still twice as strong as Bastien was now. He sighed, but vowed not to give up.
Sub-zero beam he uttered.

Once again, the claws slashed towards Bastien's chest, even as Drathir's eye now looked solemn and apologetic. As many battles as he had been through, he hated to inflict pain upon those who did not deserve it. "Blazer claw."

Slow as ice normally was, by some miracle, Bastien managed to dodge Drathir's attack, though he didn't miss the look in his opponent's eyes. It was with a bit of his own regret that he formulated his own attack.

The coolness of the beam made Drathir's claws cold once more, and he quickly set to warming them up. He didn't bother saying anything to Bastien to spur him on or aplogize. A sort of understanding seemed to have formed between the two of them, or at least that was how it seemed to him. "Blazer claw!"
