ROLE PLAYING
In roleplaying, participants adopt and act out the role of characters, or parts, that may have personalities, motivations, and backgrounds different from their own. Roleplaying is like being in an improvisational drama or free-form theatre, in which the participants are the actors who are playing parts, and the audience.
People use the phrase "role-playing" in at least three distinct ways:
> to refer to the playing of roles generally such as in a theatre, or educational setting;
> to refer to a wide range of games including computer role-playing games, play-by-mail games and more;
> or to refer specifically to role-playing games.
How to Rp:
Example:
She walked into the glade, her hair flowing in the wind. She turned around frightened by the movement she heard behind her. "Who's their?" she said slightly trembleing.
First of all you need to know how to do an action.
Like me:
Just type out what you are doing.
She picked up her sythe and stared into his eyes as the blood ran down her face.
Using *'s:
Type what you are doing in between them.
*She picked up her sythe and stared into his eyes as the blood ran down her face.*
Using -'s:
Do the same as before and just type in the action.
-She picked up her sythe and stared into his eyes as the blood ran down her face.-
Adapting to your own preference:
Just substitute any kind of symbol you want around the action. Be creative. It is a role play after all and being creative is the name of the game.
Talking:
Like me:
Type your words in between the quotes and possibly have some kind of feeling to go behind that.
"What do you want with me?" she said glaring.
Another type:
just typeing out what you say and this would be coupled with the symbols around the action.
What do you want with me? *She picked up her sythe and stared into his eyes as the blood ran down her face.*
Adapting to your own preferences:
Add symbols around both your speaking and your actions.
MAKE SURE THEY ARE DIFFERENT BECAUSE THIS CAN BE CONFUSEING AT TIMEs.
-What do you want with me?- *She picked up her sythe and stared into his eyes as the blood ran down her face.*
Out of character speaking:
When you want to talk to someone and not interupt the story (which is not a happy thing to do in my RPs) use these symbols around what you are saying.
