Until I get more sub-forums up please talk about all NWOBHM here. Because Dio is an American band please keep all talk about them in the Dio thread.

I found a whole bunch of NWOBHM records in my uncle's stuff when we were going through his personal effects after he died this spring. (I basically got to go through all his heavy metal stuff by myself, cose that's what was left to me in the will...anyway.)
Interesting stuff in there.

Funky stuff, most of which I've never heard of besides the big guys like Maiden and whatnot.
Angel Witch, anyone?

The NWOBHM had a lot of great bands in it. One which I absolutely love is Saxon. I have been listening to them for a LONG time now. I think I still have my Saxon tape that my dad gave me way back when. LOL Blitzkrieg is alright too. I dig them. biggrin Not sure how any of you feel about either of those bands though. lol

It's funny that bands like Venom and Motorhead were considered NWOBHM, when both bands weren't even Heavy Metal, but First Wave Black Metal and Speed Metal, respectively 3nodding

Sacrificed Son It's funny that bands like Venom and Motorhead were considered NWOBHM, when both bands weren't even Heavy Metal, but First Wave Black Metal and Speed Metal, respectively 3nodding Ya, as you guys can guess Black Metal like: Gorgoroth, Immortal, Carpathian Forest, Enthroned, Uruk hai, got me into Metal, when I was searching for Black Metal bands people recommended early venom, and bathory to me. Even though now, both those bands turned into Speed Metal! scream

I wonder something: was King Diamond influenced at all by Iron Maiden? I'd love to see a King Diamond discussion going on in here heart

King Diamond, probably. Maiden's work really influenced, well, everybody. King Diamond, and Merciful Fate, are both great. I would say he was influenced by Maiden a bit.
