LadyD and Tiana are both engaged and Meri wants to help celebrate. X3
Would like to do it early next year so that the holidays are behind us and invitees will have plenty of time to drum up gift gold or artwork if they want to contribute such things. (Hopefully this works out for the brides to be.)
One idea is to plan to have the party thread in this guild. Invites would be sent out via PM and we could hold the shower for anywhere from one week to a full month to make sure everyone could stop by at least once.
Another idea is for me to run an art commission thread and art contest at the same time. Pretty sure both brides would like to have artwork. I would have a thread in the R&C searching for one artist to do two couple artworks in exchange for one Devil Tail (I put my halo quest in deep freeze), and then I would also run an art contest in the Art Contests forum for much smaller prizes. I'd probably ask the artist to have the artwork ready by the end of the art contest, but that would be a negotiable point. Good artwork takes time.
The art contest is just to get extra art, and ensure there's at least some artwork for the brides in time for the shower. XD I don't trust art contests to get me a satisfactory quality of artwork for the amount I spend in prizes, so I'm certainly not going to risk a Devil Tail against the chance that we wouldn't get any great submissions. We could run the contest for at least a few months and then have the party after the contest closes. I see art contest threads have after-parties so I'm sure a combination after-party and bridal shower would be fine. *hee* All artists would be, by default, invited to the shower.
Any other ideas? Brides, does this sound good to you? If so I'll need avatar bases and any other reference material/description paragraphs you might want to provide for the art commish and contest.

I've never run an art contest before. ^^; Questions for the brides: Do you want me to put "Ashley and David" and "Christina and Sean" where it seems appropriate, or should I stick with your Gaian names only? What categories do you want to encourage? If you're not interested in pencil sketches, for instance, it doesn't really make sense to have a prize for "best monochromatic artwork."

Actually now that I think about it running it for longer and a bit later might be better. The holidays are a bad time with people on vacation and busy with offline activities, and even on Gaia they're taken up with events.
What do you think about running it from January to the end of May? We could even call it the June Brides art contest. *hee* Just have to make sure Tiana isn't planning on getting married before then. I know you're not getting married next year but I'm not sure when she was planning on the big event.
This would also give me some more time to convert my inventory into prizes. I might skip the art commish side and just do the art contest now that I think about it. Larger overall prizes = win.

There are two price guides, but no one follows them because the prices are 'too low' for them rolleyes
