Kimi stood on the sandy beach, looking out into the ocean, watcing the reflection of the stars on the water. Kimi often watched the stars at night, but she didn't usually come to the beach. A breeze of wind blew by, blowing Kimi's curly hair. She's closed her eyes, to protect shield them from any blowing sand. Kimi smiled. The wind against her face was nice and comforting.

Ambling along the beach, Lucius was enjoying the night air. The smell of the ocean was pleasant and relaxed him. Although he wasn't looking forward to cleaning the sand off of his hoofs. But that wasn't something he was going to let bother him. As he continued on, he noticed a dark shape a little ways from him, but as he got closer he noticed it was another soquili. Deciding he wanted a bit of company he started to draw closer.

Kimi heard the sound of hooves stepping in the sand from behind her. Kimi turned to the sound to find a stallion Soquili. The moonlight reflected well upon this stallion. He was a very lovely shade of blue and had hearts on his coat. "Hello," said Kimi with a sweet smile. "My name is Kimi. What brings you out here this late at night?" Kimi wasn't sure exactly how late it was, as she had been on the beach since sunset, not keeping track of time. But it felt pretty late, so it seemed like a reasonable question to ask.

Lucius smiled at all the questions that were being thrown at him. He was surprised to see that the soquili he had come across was a lovely female. "Oh you know, it was such a nice night out I decided to go for a walk on the beach." he replied. "I'm Lucius by the way."

"Lucius, that's a very nice name," said Kimi with a charming smile. "Yes, it is indeed a lovely night out. I've been watching the sky's reflection on the waters since sunset." Kimi felt a bit embarassed that she had admitted this as if she had nothing better to do with her time.

"I bet that was a sight to behold." He could see it in his minds eye, the way the sun's rays must have looked over the water. "It sounds like a fine way to have passed the evening. I'll have to remember that."

Kimi nodded. "Yes, this evening has been one of the most lovely times I've had in a while," said Kimi. The moonlight reflected and sparkled in Kimi's eye. It was a very nice night out, the perfect temperature. Not too cold, but not too hot. It was perfect. "So, Lucius, what do you usually do for fun on a typical day?" asked Kimi curiously.

Lucius thought about what Kimi had just asked. "Depends on the day. Usually I have nothing planned, I like to see what each day brings." he explained. "You never know when something amazing is just going to happen. Just the other day I was out looking for some apples to nibble on when I came upon the most beautiful field filled with buttercups." he smiled at the memory. "And the day before that at night I chased some fireflys."

What Lucius had said was indeed true. Every day is a different day. "Yes, I know what you mean. Just yesterday I went to go visit my mother and father, so nothing major happened. But then today I came to the beach, and saw the most beautiful sunset. I stood here, unsure what fate will bring me next, watching the twilight stars reflect in the water, and then I met you." Kimi smiled and blushed. She felt so corny as she said this, but it was the first thing that came to her mind.

"Well it's said fate works in mysterious ways." he told her. "I will say this, it's a very good omen for a first meeting." Lucius said with a smile, the breeze ruffling his mane.

Kimi smiled. Indeed, fate does work in mysterious ways. "Yes, perhaps it is a good omen," said Kimi, slowly approaching the stallion. Each step she took, Kimi noticed more and more details about the stallion. She check out the stallion and smiled. She shook her mane nonchalantly to allow her mane to blow in the breeze.

Lucius turned towards her and smiled. "I think it is." He noticed her checking him out but decided not to comment on it. He knew he was an unusual color but he liked it. It set him apart and he didn't mind being a bit different.
He thought the mare was quite pretty with her unusal markings. He decided he was glad that he had given into the urge to go walking along the beach tonight.

"Do you want to see the most beautiful place in the area?" asked Kimi as she circled around Lucius. Kimi was referring to the waterfall that Rahu had shown her. "It's the most beautiful waterfall with a stream of the richest and coolest waters. In the stream are sparkling stones." Kimi slowly began walking toward the waterfall, but turned her head casually to check if Lucius was following. She flicked her tail and grinned slightly. She then began taking a few more steps, using the icy flames on her hooves to light her way.

Lucius craned his neck to follow Kimi as she walked around him. "A waterfall huh? I've heard about them but I've never had the pleasure of seeing one in person."
As Kimi set off towards their destination Lucius had to do a quick trot to catch up to her. He matched her grin with one of his own and asked "So how did you find 'the most beautiful place in the area?"

Kimi thought for a moment. Rahu. No, she shouldn't mention another stallion. Not now. After all, she was only a foal when she met Rahu. Now Rahu is her disowned sister's caretaker. That'd sound weird if Kimi brought that up. "I found it when I was a foal," said Kimi. It wasn't a complete lie. Just wasn't the whole truth. "But that's not important, dwelling in the past. What is important is the future. And the future is now. And now...is us."
