INTRODUCTION TO CHAOS: It is the year 1459 of Our Lords. The normally constantly-warring nation of Selphare has withdrawn within its borders, cutting off all contact with the outside. The royal mages have erected makeshift barriers along the edges of the country. Within the court, at the very center of the land, five contestants struggle for the throne. The people are being ignored, and choose their sides among themselves, providing what help they can, or else attempting to escape what the intelligent know will soon escalate a devastating civil war. The contestants are: The twins, oldest sons of the recently dead king (Delphius and Laneir--rivals) Their younger sister, Firna (only 13, she is being used as a figure head by Baron Medeus who kidnapped her the night her father died) Their mother, Lady Marin (aging, but ambitious to control the throne in order to switch the royal dynasty to her house, the House of Cor, since next in line, if she restores her status as queen and, as she plans to, disowns her children, would be her young lover and cousin, Medeus) Baron Medeus (playing two cards, he has kidnapped the princess and become the former queen's illicit lover in an attempt to, if not become king, at least provide himself with a considerable leap in rank)
The other nobles who normally would have been fighting for a place are dead, banished, or in hiding, to leave only the close center of the royal family to tear itself apart.

Pre-Assigned Character Profiles:
Name: Delphius Username: ? Status: Prince of Selphare Age: 22 Appearance: A handsome young man, with bright red hair and grey eyes. He is about 6' 1", and prefers to dress himself in white, to enforce his image as "The Rightful Heir". Personality: Charming and arrogant, but somewhat unhinged, and can turn spiteful at any moment. Is slowly learning prudence, though. Followers and Alliances: None yet.
Name: Laneir Username: -t h e-b o o k-t h i e f- Status: Prince of Selphare Age: 22 Appearance: See Delphius's description. However, Laneir's taste in clothing is more colorful, and slightly foppish. Personality: Arrogant and vain, too blunt for his own good, but surprisingly honest. It is assumed that he will get himself killed soon by speaking the truth. Followers and Alliances: None yet.
Name: Firna Username: ? Status: Princess of Selphare Age: 13 Appearance: A young girl of no remarkable appearance, with pale blond hair and watery grey eyes. Her features are somewhat placid, but they hide a sharp intuition well. She is short and mostly undeveloped. Personality: Bookish and lazy, she can be oversensitive, and also has an uncanny skill for saying exactly what will hurt people the most. Followers and Alliances: Followers: Supposedly, the Baron Medeus, but she prudently doubts that.
Name: Marin Username: ? Status: Lady and Former Queen of Selphare Age: 41 Appearance: An aging woman, thin and tall, with grey hair and matching grey eyes. She has sharp, large features, and was never known for her beauty. Personality: Touchy, possibly slightly mad, jealous, and sharp enough to cut. Followers and Alliances: Alliances: Allied with the Baron Medeus, her lover and soon to be husband.
Name: Medeus Username: ? Status: Baron Age: 29 Appearance: Handsome and foppish, with the red hair common for the noble family, tightly curled, and blue-green eyes. He is of medium height at 5' 10", and moves gracefully. Personality: Petty and foppish in the eyes of those he knows, he is nevertheless cunning, manipulative, and power-hungry, and he will stop at nothing to get his way. Like most of the contestants, he is possibly deranged.
Note: PM me with an example of you RPing as a pre-assigned character if you want to be one, because I'm feeling picky.

RULES 1) ToS. Dah dah dah... 2) No more than 15 total non-assigned characters. Of course, I'll be lucky to get that many, considering what happened to this in Barton town. 3) PM me your profile, which should have Name: Username: Status: Age: Appearance/Description: Personality: Followers and Alliances (if any): 4) The subject of your pm should be "Chicken Pot Pie". This is designed to make sure you read the rules. 5) I will edit the status/assigned characters page once a day, adding new characters made by RPers, and changing the "Followers and Alliances" and "Status" sections as necessary.
Ok, that's all. Wasn't that fun?

Whee, started.
First Scene
Set in: a palace garden/courtyard The various contestants can bribe, threaten, duel here etc. or try to recruit staff as spies. It is unlikely that any outside of palace followers will be here, so if necessary, a parallel roleplay may be opened.

Calla was bored, heavily bored but not bored enough to protest to Marlene's suggestion. It was too dreary outside and too hot for work in the courtyard. Of course that was all opinionated seeing as it was a perfectly sunny day of moderate temperatures.
"Last time I ask for suggestions," Calla sniffed, shuffling out into the glaring sunlight. She pulled out her fifth volume of poems and began devouring the words underneath a shady tree. Her eyes barely glanced up from her reading to examine the birds flitting too and fro.
Marlene looked down into the courtyard and shook her head. No matter what she did, Calla refused to cooperate.
"I'm startin' te get the feelin' she hates the sun." she chuckled while straigtening up her mistress's desk. Although she was learned, Calla was never the organized young lady any noble's daughter was expected to be.

"Hmmm, so that is what Misrick believes? I cannot accept that, Imael and you know how I do hate your fabrications," Calla muttered while thinking murderous thoughts. Besides from the peace and quiet, she had her book taken away.
"No, no, no, child unless you wish to give me this lovely book as a gift. You know my birthday is coming soon in fact..." Imael mused, flipping through her book. He had come down to the courtyard not because of boredom but because of necessity. Princess Firna needed as many alliances and people on her side as she could get.
"I know Misrick is a radical but never to this extreme. He did tell me once that he would not say such about the queen unless he finally is going to take sides."
