The sun was baking down on the earth, and the long white and grey female felt the rays sinking into her back, bringing some relief to tensed muscles and to the ache between her shoulders. If only it could have focused itself just there! But unfortunately, as comforting as that warmth was it was also burning against her brow, and her ears, and the ends of her toes. For that she was uncomfortable. Occasionally she flinched as she attempted to sun, rolling over just to the side to gather some coolness. But it wasn’t enough. It still burned, and finally, the Fox could have no more of it.

Mbweha snorted as she rose to the balls of her feet, stretching once just to settle the distribution of feeling across her back. Why could it never be the right temperature? It was either too hot or raining- did nature itself wish to drive her into exodus as well? It was doing a good job of manipulating the sister’s movements.

Slinking slowly forwards, Mbweha paused momentarily to observe her surroundings. Nothing but flat land here- and in the distance, a large leafless tree that the sisters had taken to camping out in for the while. Everything was made bright in the high noon- and the grass glistened like it was on fire. Irritably, she grunted, and turned slowly to trudge towards the tree.

Even leafless- it did a good job providing shade because of its size and numerous branches. The second her body crossed within the shade, she felt a soft sigh puff out between the silent female’s lips. Inadvertantly- her eyes rose to the trees branches, looking about for one of her siblings. "Mwana." She called slowly, her voice short and intruding.

Mbweha's intuition was correct, actually. For draped across a thick arm of the towering tree was Mwana. Her two hind legs were hanging elegently off the side, and her front paws were crossed neatly before her on the sturdy branch, both for balance and grace. Her head was held to the side slightly, the position appearing as one that would be uncomfortable. But for an expect lady such as Mwana, it was a very soothing way to hold it and it looked proper as well. Not that there was anyone to see.

One ear twitched slightly and she shifted her silver eyes to look down at her sister. Disinterest was clearly something she felt at the call, since she was rather settled up in the tree. But a lady does not ignore when there is no grudge-it is a waste of energy. So she offered a reply, even if she would have rathered remained silent, "Yes, Sister dear?"

With a quick and graceful bound, Mbweha scaled up the side of the large barreled tree. Mava seemed nowhere to be found- but in such midday, she wouldn’t have been surprised if the girl’s darker color sister had retreated to some cooler place for the duration of the day. Mbweha curled, stretching her lean and lovely body out amongst the branches. She did not sit in quite the same delicate manner as Mwana did- but it was obvious that she too, took consideration of how she looked as she sat.

“I’m getting thirsty.” Mbweha replied slowly once she had risen herself up amongst the branches. “Where is the water here? I do believe it was your turn to find it.” The white female remarked, and leaned her paw forward to slowly bathe the dirty feathering between her paws. She couldn’t stand the grime of being rogues. It was undesirable.

As she waited for Mwana’s response; she noticed a peculiar shape floating about in the distance. It was a drop of red- and her ears perked forwards. “Uff...” She spoke simply as she mused, eyeing the stalking creature. “Such vagabond lands!”

Mwana barely managed to keep a delicate frown on her maw rather then a grimace. She was the least controled of her sisters when it came to emotions and when compared to them she seemed rather impulsive. Mbweha would say 'it was your turn' but in reality her two other sisters got very few 'turns' to take. Mwana felt as if she was always the one bullied off to do the dirty work. It simply wasn't refined and proper! Inside she hoped they'd find someplace civilized soon-this wandering just the three of them was tiresome.

"I believe I told you its location yesterday," she replied loftily. Her tail curled slightly in the smallest show of irritation. "And I don't believe you must tell me whenever you have a whim, Mbweha." To those unaccustomed to refined speach it would sound like a friendly conversation. But in reality there was quite a bit of discontent expressed by Mwana.

It would have been disarming for someone not used to their conversations- but Mbweha got the point that Mwana was not too pleased. But she idly dismissed it- when wasn’t Mwana upset about something? Always going on and on about this and that. Honestly- Mbweha did appreciate Mwana doing the work. Not so much that she liked to take advantage of her sister, but she felt Mwana probably did it better then Mava and Mbweha did. Or at least- when they did try.

But it wasn’t in Mbweha to argue, and she simply flicked her ear and finished licking her paw. “I see.” She spoke flatly, her voice cool to her throat. She was a lioness of few words. As she stroked her paw the last few times, her eyes came to rest on the drop of red again. It was moving sluggishly about, and she grimaced bitterly as it suddenly seemed to straightened it’s pattern and align itself towards them.

“Oh, bitter.” Mbweha muttered in a fake curse, and glanced away. “Some fellow thinks he will talk with us I fear.”

And some fellow certainly did! He’d been wandering around ever since Phib and he had parted ways; somewhat precariously at that. It had been nice to see Améh again, and they’d had a rather nice dinner- but, Jaden’s feet had started to hunger for more earth and more pretty faces, and so he’d been off. He had only just started to regret his decision when the scents of the trio of females had caught his nose. It didn’t matter that they were lionesses- he’d always been a large leopard anyway. Surely no lady could refuse his charms!

The red creature slowly sauntered, his shoulders pulsing as he moved. He was still a bit away- but too excited to contain himself, he already started talking. “Well hello there!” He called, his blue eyes flashing.

Mbweha blinked her eyes cooly, and looked away.

Mwana felt as if her fur had been rubbed in the wrong direction. She absolutely despised when Mbweha chose to be indifferent-which was almost all the time. It, indirectly, made her seem a fool for putting even a sliver of emotion into the conversation in the first place. And in turn that made her angry and embaressed. And normally this led to lashing out...which only worsened her situation. But she never seemed to learn.

She was about to make a barbed retort towards her sister when she heard her comment. Pausing she looked out in the direction of Mbweha's gaze and paused. Imidiately a look of disgust flashed on her fast, though she quickly corrected it to a lady-like distaste. She shut her eyes and turned her head in a different angle so she wouldn't be facing him directly. It was more uncomfortable and the sharp, single thrash of her tail made that apparent.

The lack of response from the two females did little to dent Jaden’s willful ego. As his mind put it- they were obviously too awed, or embarrassed, to speak to him yet. And those angry faces? Surely they were only minutes from arguing over him! Ah, ah-! He thought. Silly girls, they could both have him.

He had to admit- as much as he did hound women, these two were particularly lovely. There was something different and elegant about them- and they almost gave off the appearance of being royalty up on top of the trees. And oh- did he love royalty. “My ladies-“ He called again, now almost beneath the shade of the tree.

The calling did attract her attention, and suspiciously, Mbweha crinkled her lovely brow and peered at him as if she was looking at an ant. Fool- what did he want?

Jaden grinned, glad to have caught at least one of their attentions. “Well well- what fine ladies up in this tree!”

Mbweha got an expression which would have been hard to describe. It looked somewhere between agony, and if she had suddenly smelt something terrible.

Mwana was quickly running out of patiences with this one and he had just got here. She felt her head begin to throb with the effort of holding back irritation and from the tight-set nature of her jaw at the moment. She allowed her silver eyes to slide open, but she refused to look at him. She would not give someone so low as this such acknowledgement. But to prevent her anger from building and exploding, was it surely would, she did offer her polite attacks in response, "Do stop stating the obvious. And please, we are far from being your anything." Though Jaden probably wouldn't understand this was an insult directed to him.

“Oh, now ladies! No need to look down on yourselves.” Jaden purred. “You can be my anything if you just aspire to be.” He grinned, curling the end of his tail. To those who didn’t know him- he gave off the kind of impression that he was a bit of a dumb buffoon. But to those who did know him- well, he was still a dumb buffoon. But those that knew him happened to know that he wasn’t exactly unaware of what he was doing. He knew what Mwana had meant. He just chose not to think pessimistically.

And when the world worked around you- why wouldn’t it?
The red brute grinned, and shook his head. “I’m Jaden-“ He spoke, pronouncing his name carefully with an H, rather then a J. “And you ladies?”

Mbweha squinted, and chose not to talk.

"I don't think any respectable person would aspire to relate themself to you," Mwana clipped, finally looking at him. Her eyes were hard silver, though, like elegent and yet sharp pins. She could feel her head throb with pained effort not to yell at him. His stupidity was taxing. And honestly, he had no right to talk to them at all. They were highborn lions. He was a lowly, stray, common, lewd leopard. He should know better then to come within a mile of them!

Mbweha probably couldn’t have agreed more. Irritably, she eyed the male with discontempt, and privately wished Mava was around. He thought had such a clever mouth? But for Mbweha to speak, meant she gave some sort of attention to him. And she refused to let such a thing come across her. Let Mwana handle him- she and her good temper. That would soon dispatch of him. Pleased with her reasoning, she pressed her ears to her skull to try and drown him out.

It didn’t work for long. Jaden grinned at Mwana, and wriggled his stocky body. “Ah! No need to be snippy my love. I’m only complimenting you. Shouldn’t a fine lady such as yourself be told when you’re looking marvelous?” He purred.

Mbweha groaned, and pressed her snout to the bark of the tree.

Finally her temper flared at his vulgarity. "Not by the likes of you!" She clipped, her body ridgid with fury and her elegant features marred by a very unlady-like frown. She felt defiled and sullied just by hearing his words! How vile! "You should be grateful we even LOOKED at you, lowlife, but you long overstepped your rights and your bounds! You obviously know how refined we are, so I will NOT grant you leeway for ignorance!" HONESTLY, she didn't know how Mbweha could stand it! Well she couldn't any longer and it was going to stop. Right this instant!

Jaden hardly batted an eye as the lady yelled at him. He would have liked to have said it was because he thought she was lying- but, he’d been yelled at enough by women to be able to keep his flat face. In fact- he was possibly an expert. That had to count for something, eh?

The brightly colored leopard purred and turned to left, hoping to show off his profile. “Ignorance! My dear, I’m one of the smartest men around.” he spoke, rubbing his chest. That had been a bit for his pride- but this time, he went a bit off the path and decided just to make her angrier.

“It’s alright though. I know you want me.” He said with a sly wink. “You just don’t want to agitate that fine sister of yours.”

Now even Mbweha had had enough. “I beg your pardon!” She gasped, and batted her eyes. Jaden grinned, enjoying the wide eyed look both of them were giving him. “You ugly leopard. Go away.”

Mwana looked apalled at the idea. "Want you?" she sputtered, feeling a flush of anger tinge the skin in her face. This male couldn't get any more disgusting! Any more INSULTING! "Like I want a disease!" she snapped in horrified fury. To even get her sister upset-well that said something. This was way beyond what they should ever have to deal with. Ladies should never, ever be treated in such a manner. She heartily wished a herd of water buffalo would trample him or something. Anything to get him away from them!

“Alright, alright. No need to get your claws out.” He purred. Jaden could have been the poster child for self induced optimism. Slyly, he gave Mwana a slow wink. “I can see I’m probably too much for you.” He shifted his shoulders, and turned his face towards Mbweha. “And you, pretty lady?”

Mbweha balked and looked away.

Jaden fixed the grin back to his face, and slowly walked around the tree, rubbing himself against it. “So where are you from?” He drawled, flicking the end of his tail. “Besides heaven, that is.”
