Digimon World DS is the first Digimon game for the Nintendo DS. The original Japanese name of this game is Digimon Story. It's an RPG and bears a resemblance to Digimon World 3 in and out of battle. It features 300 Digimon and uses Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to match Digimon. Naruo Uchida, Namco Bandai's Vice President of Localization, has said “With the type of gameplay Digimon World DS offers, this makes it the perfect title for the portable platform, the Nintendo DS".

It was releaased in Japan on June 15,2006
and will be released in
North america on November 14,2006

[Storyline]
Sometime in the 21st century, the rapid developments in computer technology have spawned, in the Digital World, various life forms known as Digital Monsters. In the real world, it has been rumored that these facts were covered up by the DATS organization under the National Public Safety Commission. To check out the rumors, the main character and some friends sneak into the school computer room, whereupon the main character is transported to the Digital World.

[New Digimon]
Digimon World DS marks the first appearance for several Digimon, some that later appear in Digimon Savers, like Gawappamon, the evolution of Kamemon. Chronomon DM/Chronomon HM, the game's final boss, also makes his first appearance.
The game also introduces two special Digimon, DotAgumon and DotFalcomon, both of which have the appearance of sprites from a V-Pet. These Digimon seem to have no special qualities except being able to be de-evolved back into their Baby forms, then evolved into more powerful Digimon.

Hopefully, I'm getting it today. I'd post my Friend Code thing for Nintendo Wi-Fi, but I don't know how to get it without sticking in a game sweatdrop

After playing it a few day now I can tell you it's adicting. It's in my opinion the funnest Digimon game yet, even though the digivolving charts could be a bit better.

I'm gold myself. Make sure you have several digimon ready for Ultimate (Mega) by the time you get to gold, or else you suffer the same problems I am. I'm nearly stuck.

Mega digimon aren't necessary. I beat all the way to Platinum rank with a champion. It's just a matter of knowing how to use the degenerating system to its full potential.

By the way the sequel will come out in Japan in March, so we might see it around here in half a year:
Digimon Story Moonlight/Sunburst
(The two digimon there are Lunamon and Coronamon, in case you can't read Katakana and are wondering who they are.)

I guess it all depends. Right now my most powerful digimon is my Toy Agumon at level 25, he's been degenerated a few time, he's also my fastest leveler.
