"You're mocking me..."
Chael spoke, as he stood out in one of the open gardens deep in the temple's core. The grass was a long lushious green, as the garden was filled with trees and bushes covered in bright flowers. The male's gaze was locked on an angle, looking up to the object of his ominous glare. Ears flattened against his cranium as his wings fluttered in mild annoyance.
"Thats it...You'll pay."
He spoke in a deep yet smooth tone, as the malu took off in a bound. Although Chael wasn't as fast as most of the Malu he met, from being equipt as a child to have to bound with shakey legs in the snow, he had quite a powerful set of hind legs in which to jump with. Muscles bulged slightly as the Malu paused for but a second; folding his front paws up and pushing off with his hind legs to leap into the air. Opening his muzzle, he soared up and up, his teeth slightly shutting as if to grab....yet it clamped down on nothing but air.
He missed the apple...again.
Landing hard with a thud, Chael took a few steps to relieve his legs of the tingling shock. Once again turning his gaze back up to the lush, red apple which taunted him with temptation. Sighing and hanging his head, his slightly unruly tuff of hair covered his eyes slightly. Yet he wasn't giving up....as he would not be leaving till he got that apple.

Kayre's ears perked up slightly as she heard a loud, muffled thud from nearby. She moved through the temple, curious as to what had made the sound.
She hoped it was an adult male.
A opening came into veiw as she turned the corner, and found herself in a garden, rich with fruits of all sorts. They were in blue, most tree's taking on a soft pink color, raining down petals. One tree, seeming to have blumed early, beared bright, red apples. And under it was a soft blue male.
Score!
Kayre tossed her head to get the hair tuft out of her face, and began her strut through the long grass to her latest prize. She held her head high in confidence, and looked directly at him. She had done this a million times before, but every time it was different, and gave her a new sense of adrenaline.

"Alright....attempt number three..."
Chael grinned in confidence, somehow, his body tingled with the feel of sucess. He would get it this time. Giving his fur a quick shake, the malu ducked slightly into the grass, stretching his legs out before getting in a bounding position. Pausing for a moment, his muscles tensed as he lept off....yet something caught his eye.
It was like slow motion as his body already was in jump, as his eyes stared straight as a navy maluess made her was across the clearing in his direction; her eyes as alluring as a freshly fallen field of snow glimmering in the morning light. Who was she..? What was she doing here...and why did he suddenly realize that he hadn't set his feet on the ground yet.
"ACK!!"
Chael yelped, promptly crashing down on his face as he skidded slightly on the ground. With his hind legs still in the air he nearly toppled over himself but managed to put his hind legs on the ground safely behind him. Coughing slightly at the upturned dirt, he groaned.
Suave. Just suave.

Kayre giggled as she watched the male twist in mid air as he saw her, and fall. "Having a little trouble?" she teased, quickening her strut to a light trot, over to him. "Are you ok?" She asked, leaning over him.
He was cute in a goofey way, it seemed at the moment. She liked that, gave her a chance to have a little more fun with him. "Usually I try to land on my feet when I jump, but I suppose your way works too" she said, laughing again. Not a cruel laugh, but a friendly giggle, to let him know she was only joking around.

Letting out a small cough, the male watched as she approached at a faster face till she reached his side. She giggled, a light and airy amusement before leaning over him. Looking up with his ears twisting upwards, something struck her to him...yet he couldn't figure out this feeling of familliarity he was feeling.
"Well...yeah. Its not all of the time I get the fur scared off me when someone stares at me when I assumed I was alone."
A soft grin crossed his face, despire how red he was which began to tint through his blue fur. Sliding his forelegs under his torso, Chael pushed himself off the ground before giving a quick and vigorous shake. Turning his head to gaze at her once more, his unuly hair was sticking up in numerous places...not to mention his wings were twitching in slight nervousness. What was so different about girls? They were Malu! Just like Male Malus....yet they didn't have entrancing stares....or light airy voices...or made him horrendously clumsy.
"It does, actually. If you don't mind getting a face full of dirt...that is."
Chael chuckled slightly, still able to feel some of the dirt around his own muzzle. Gazing at her large, feathery wings he pondered for a moment before looking back at her pelt. It was a strange colouring...he swore he saw the same colours on a bird back up north...
"My name is Chael....W-what's yours..?

"I was not staring. I was admiring how cute you were" She said, making straight eye contact with him. This is usually what she would do first. The approch, then she would flirt lightly for a bit.
Some might think kayre was a bad person, for picking up malu males, and then dropping them when she got bored. To her though, it was perfectly ok. It was the way she was taught as a worshiper of the god of lust. Kayre was hardly even was aware that love existed. In her mind, it was all just a game.
"Well, you certainly don't seem to mind" she said, giggling again. She reached outwith her paw, brushing some of the dirt softly off his muzzle. "It is nice to meet you Chael. My name is Kayre"

"Whaa...?"
Chael blanked, eyes wide and confused as he was once again caught in her gaze. Frankly, it felt like he was a fly doing aerials over a siperweb. It was a dangerous game he was playing...all told him to flee, yet his feet remained firmly on the ground. He was a stupid fly.
"Kayre...Thats a nice name. Although I must say...you have the same patterns as a bird i've seen once."
He spoke with a nod, unsure of what he should do. Clearly he was acting like a child...and winter was always strong! His god would be frowning down at him right now. Thinking to himself, winter was always full of suprised, hidden ice under the snow...not to mention...winter was nippy.
"Hmmm. Your wings look heavy. Not as aero dynamic as mine I must say..."
A soft grin crossed his lips, moving forth and gently pulling on the tips with his teeth; his own wings arched out on his back.

A little, michevious smile danced across Kayre's face. For a moment confusion flicked in the male's eyes. He had heard her, but her certainly didn't know how to respond, and she sensed he was probubly worried that she didn't mean what he thought she meant.
"Thank you. Yes... I have noticed. I belive the bird is called a blue jay. Beautiful birds, but can be rather.." she took a step forward "Intimidating. Only the bravest, and strongest birds will mess with the blue jay" she looked at his coat. I made her feel cold for a moment. "They don't migrate for the winter. They stay"
He seemed to be a bit more dominent then other males she had played with. She usually came on a bit strong for some, and they would melt down. But this one was holding his ground. He even dared to compare himself to her.
"Well, my wings are much lighter than they look. And hosnestly, those wings don't look like they get much done!" she said, spreading out her wings to full length, each about twice the width of her body.

"Ahhh, well no wonder I see them. Where I came from...we had a long winter season. Brave birds, I must say."
Chael smiled, he had liked the bluejays as it was a nice change from seeing pale blues all day long. Yet he did remember them to be quite mischevious and loud creatures....
"Oh really? Well, My wings are like that of the airborne rodents around here. They're solid, and don't need to rely on feathers. Plus, they're hassle free so I don't ever have to preen them."
His head tilted a little higher, believing his point was well thought out....then the apple came to view. This cause a grin to spread across the length of his muzzle, tilting his head slowly to look at Kayre with a devious look. The blizzard was setting in...
"How about....we have a little bet? Whomever can get that apple up on the branch wins. If I win....you'll have to admit that my wings are forever better than yours, paws down. If you win....well, you decide; or are you afraid?"
Chael smirked, his tail swaying back and forth lightly. He had always liked a challenge....even though so far he had been unable to obtain the apple.

Kayre tilted her head to the side. He wanted her to...work for his aproval? But, the offer was rather tempting. Anything she wanted....
"Well, I don't think a Lady should have to prove that she is right" she said, leaning in closer to him. "Blue jays are known for pushing around the lighter, less experienced birds. Dare you challange one?" she asked, batting her eyelashes at him.
Why had boys been so difficult lately? Some seemed so dense they couldn't take a hint, some seemed like she scared the living heck out of them, some just thought she was being friendly, and others even challanged her! Why couldn't they just go with her plan!?!

Chael tilted his head, watching as she tried to use her charm to sway him otherwise. Yet as stong as winter in January, thus Malu was not going to budge. "A man then shouldn't have to give his approval to just anyone." He grinned lightly with a chuckle, his young muscles tingling in excitement for the challenge.
Thinking about this for a moment, his cerulean eyes lingered up to the apple, before a smile crossed his maw. "Oh, I think i'm up for the challenge. Winter can be a formidable foe to any bird, no matter their rank in the bird world."

Kayre raised an eyebrow. He certainly was stubborn. "But" she said, leaning forward "your so strong... even if my wings are clearly better... you sould win" she added, falling forward onto him a little "Do you really want to do that to me?"
"Well, the jay takes on the winter ever year" she said softly to his comment about the winter. "And often wins"

Raising a brow slightly, as he tilted his head slightly to glance back at his stubby wings compared to her large ones...he highly doubted that. Chael had to admit though, she knew how to stroke a male's ego just right, with her words he almost felt he could get the apple with ease despite his numerous failed attempts beforehand. Perking his ears up, the male was slightly confused as she had leant against him, looking up with that helpless look.
No, he couldn't fall for it! This was a test, and she had agreed. "Well, If a bluejay can take on the winter, i'm sure this will be no problem for you." Chael smiled, looking back up to the apple in question as he nodded his head slightly. "Ladies first..."

Kayre looked up at the apple. "Nope. I have nothing to prove" she said, finally. She was not in the mood to work THIS hard for a guy, who wasn't even reaction to her seductions! "Flying isn't something I am good at. I really never do it. But I will show you something I AM good at" she said, nuzzling his heck with her head.

"Wha..?" Chael blinked, had they not a bet going on? Yet his suprise couldn't be masked as she nuzzled him affectionately which caused a blush to cross his cheeks which stood out like a sore thumb against his blue pelt. "K-Kayre?" He had never been with a female, let alone have one do this. It was all entirely new to him.
