They're so awesome, but that's not the point. I've gotten some stupid remarks and comments about being in one, but this question takes the cake. I want to know how many JROTC cadets get stupid things like that. Please post.

It's quite suprising, how our uniforms are basically equivalent to that of the actual military issue. This is proven by the uncountable number of people who see me in my Dress Blues uniform for MCJROTC and automatically assume that I am a Marine. Many of them come to shake my hand and thank me for the "sacrifices" I am making, and although it is dishonorable to accept something that you dishonestly deserve, I am told by my SMI to just respond by saying "thank you," or anything similar to that effect. However, it all the more just inspires me to join the military as my future career.

I had alot of people come up to me at a Sea Cadet event last night and thank me for serving. We were at a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and collecting funds for the VFW. It was kinda odd. I kept saying thank you but I havent served my country yet, those gentlemen are the ones you should be thanking. And I would direct them over to the VFW table. It was kinda interesting
