Indie Label sites are one of the best way to find great new music. Sites like subpop.com and killrockstars.com provide great info on old, new, and upcoming bands that have signed to the label. They also have a few downloads from each bands, not just samples.

I don't know much about hip American labels like that. I mean I've heard of Saddle Creek, and I know Level Plane is always dependable for quality hardcore (Envy, City of Caterpillar) but aside from that I'm totally out of the loop.
