Daveigh stood outside of the Rose Petal prides cave she was pretty much alone and awaiting a friend to join her. She had gotten Naida's permission to take Yukio out with her during her patrols of the northern area of the pride. Her mother by now had headed off with Santos for some quality time with her mate which she rarely got. Daveigh sighed as her impatient side started kicking in. "Yukio? Where are you?" She called into the pride cave knowing full well he was in there somewhere. "Come on!"

"I'm comin', I'm comin'" came the sleepy reply as Yukio stretched and yawned having just awoken from a nap. He'd been dreaming about how he and Daveigh had used to play and wrestle when they were both little, and hadn't wanted it to end so soon. It was different seeing her so big now, but he knew his growth spurt would hit soon too...then maybe they could play like they used to. He didn't understand, yet, that her growth was not only physically but mentally. As a kit, it was a concept that was beyond him at the moment, but he'd understand in time.
Padding to the front of the cave he yawned and stretched once more, still little more than half asleep.

Daveigh smiled as she saw the sleepy little Yukio appear out of the cave. Compared to her he was so small now it felt so wierd to her. She almost wanted to pick him up and hug him like a little brother. Scratching that thought from her mind she crouched down to the ground in front of Yukio and motioned for him to climb on. "I'm actually big enough to carry you now. So you can ride on my back while we wander." She said with a grin. She'd never had anyone ride on her back so it was going to be a new and fun experience.

Yukio woke up the rest of the way at the idea that he could now ride around on Daveigh. It was an odd thought, since she seemed so big now, but fun so he wasted no time in climbing on, putting his front paws on her head, and balancing his back end on her shoulders. "Where we goin'?" He was practically wiggling with excitement to be out with his best friend on an adventure.

Daveigh grinned as Yukio excitedly climbed onto her back. Slowly she stood up finding Yukio not very heavy at all. "Well mom said that I was to patrol the north side of the pride so we'll be heading over there." She said as she pointed towards the part of the pride littered lightly with trees. "That's our heading." She said and from there began their trek out in a slow paced trot.

Yukio watched the land intently, like a good lookout should, "Wow, I've never been here. Mom usually just took me near the lakeshore, it's nice there, and I like the water and all, but there just wasn't alot of places to explore that hadn't been explored before. Adventure! Excitement!" Scooting up so he could look in her eyes upside down, he whispered, "I heard there's pirate lions...think we'll see any?"

Daveigh actually had to giggle at Yukio as she padded through the grass with the trees in the distance on her sights. "I don't know Yukio. We might you can never tell. We'll be moving around the edge of our prides territory so it's possible we'll see pirate lions or even some other type of strange or unusual lion." She said while glancing up to look at Yukio. She still couldn't get over how small he seemed now she felt so old all of a sudden. Coming across a small rock out cropping Daveigh told Yukio to hang on as she hopped over the rocks with a graceful ease and was back on her course towards the trees in the distance.

Yukio giggled at the slight bouncing. Riding Daveigh was fun, though he felt so...little. Pouting, he wondering aloud, he said "Will I ever get bigger?" It sure seemed to take him a long time. "Why can't I be bigger like you?"

Daveigh stopped half way to her destination and tried to look up to Yukio on her head. "I would love to be little like you. If I could trade you sizes I would. It's funner being little if you ask me. Right now I'm having to help out with the patroling and so is Arsenic. And in my opinion it's boring. Walking the land with only grass and bushes to accompany you and the passing pride member if you're lucky. You'll grow soon enough Yukio. Enjoy it for now." Daveigh said with a bright grin and again started on her way. She would have rathered still be small, riding on her mothers back as they roamed the lands. It was so much funner back then.

Yukio giggled at the thought of trading sizes and said, "Then you'd have to ride around on me if we traded! I'd be big, you'd be little...nah, I'd rather be the same size as you. What if I make you a promise that when I grow up, we'll keep patrolling together? Then we won't have to be bored, cause we'll have someone to talk to!"

She smiled at his proposition as she weaved around a small tree. "Sure. With another to talk to it will certainly be more interesting." She said. As she spoke they reached the edge of the small littering of trees and stopped to peer around at the light shrubbing and tree trunks. "This is our destination now we will begin our patrol."

Yukio looked around, like a good lookout, but saw nothing but trees and brush. His ears drooped as he proclaimed the fact that there were no pirate lions about to hunt down. Disappointed (though he shouldn't of been...after all, when had there ever been pirate lions around here to hunt down?), he laid his head on Daveigh's and sighed. "I wanna go on an adventure...something exciting. Ori and Yiska are lucky, getting to wander all they want."

Daveigh giggled at Yukio's words while heading into the trees, weaving through them with ease making zigzag patterns in her trail. "When you get older we'll do that of course with your parents and my parents permission. We'll set out for an adventure and return with a story to tell. A story worthy of the old storyteller Vonis."
((If you want we can fast forward to age them to their current ages or leave at this for a little longer.))

((I have no problem with a bit of a time warp xd ))
"Ooh, maybe we'll be able to tell HIM a story!!" The thought of that seriously cheered him up. So what if they hadn't seen pirate lions yet? Maybe they would on their adventure! "Think Mom will make me wait till I'm big like you? That's going to be an awful long time..." he frowned slightly as everthing past tomorrow seemed like forever away.
