Ice blue eyes were on the path that he had laid out before him. He was heading 'home,' if he could even call it a home. His memory had faded over time, it probably had changed. He left when he was still so young, after he lost his mother, and had no father to care for him. Daemon went on a search to try and find the missing pieces of his childhood, mainly his father.
Daemon didn't really have a childhood. Leaving the Pridelands when he was still a cub, he had to survive each day out as best as he could. Trying to improve himself, never making ties with any others, feeling relationships were pointless...as a cub those were his beliefs. But now he had his heart set on going home. Seeing how it had changed, seeing if he could become part of the pride once more.
Only problem was...that he was lost.
In the rogue lands not many lions liked to talk, not many seemed keen on the idea of helping another go into a pride, when usually the other had no pride of their own to return to. Daemon just wished he'd come across someone who could give him a sense of where to go, or at least just talk to him for a moment.
Yes, that would be nice.
Padding along his tail flicked to the side. The tribal markings on his shoulders moving with each step, eyes still on the far distant prize. He hoped he would make it there soon. Being on his own wasn't very fun anymore.

A black shadow stood atop a rock on the savannah lands, surveying the terrain that stood before her. Ears perking as they caught the sound of movement, she moved her small head to face a stranger, seemingly making his way around her. His path wasn't straight though, which read to her that he was lost.
She didn't leap off her rock, no; instead she sat herself down gracefully, waiting to see if the stranger would come across her, or just pass by. Most would pass her by, but that was when she was cloaked in the dark of night; it was a beautiful late morning, and she stuck out like a sore thumb with her black coat against the tan-golden grasses.
Her brown eyes studied the figure as he made his pace. He was the opposite of herself, which didn't bring much surprise to the lioness, but a bit of interest. Especially to the intricate markings on his shoulders.

Daemon stopped short, he felt something. He felt like he was being watched, he hated that feeling. Feeling like all the pressure and all eyes were on him, if he made a mistake while others were watching...he got angry at himself for it.
Turning his head he looked around, then his ice eyes fell on a silouette not too far away. Slim and dark. His curiousity got the best of him. Changing his course he padded towards the stranger, wondering what the shadow looked like up close.
To his surprise the shadow was not that of a wandering male (which he usually came across) but a female. Which automatically gained his interest. Stopping a meter or so away from her, he still stood tall, the markings on his shoulders and back legs now still. The ones under his eyes still as well. "Hello..." he spoke, his voice was rough but smooth, if that made any sort of sense.
"What might a lovely lioness as yourself be doing out here?" he asked curiously, a smile upon his face.

Sweet talking a lady that he didn't even know? The lioness gave a little glance at the male, just wondering what he was like. Interesting. Something else to remember about males.
She swished her tail behind her on the rock, pausing before speaking to the stranger. "Hello, traveler." She said matter-of-factly, and gave him a small bow.
She whipped her tail around to curl around her body before answering his invading question. "Merely being curious about the world?" She gave a small grin. "I've just grown a bit bored with my homelands, and thus letting a little wanderlust pull me around until I return there."
She peered over at him, turning his question over to him. "And what is one like you doing alone? You seem very self-sufficent, yet lost."

Daemon was very caught with lionesses, he found himself attracted to a lot of them, this one though...different. Confidence was within her, something Daemon admired about others. Also, to find such confidence in a female such as herself, well, that was even better.
She was wandering hmm? Interesting. But she had a home to go back to, he wondered where. If it was close to where he was going. "Wandering is sometimes good, but having somewhere to return to, or hope to return to gives it an added bonus," he spoke, flicking his tail to teh side. His eyes watching her.
The blackness of her pelt intrigued him, he had never seen such a dark colored female before. "I wandered from my home in search of something...now I hope to return back there, though it has been a while." Then Daemon rememebred, he never gave a proper introduction! How rude of him!
"My name's Daemon," he said, mimicking her movements and bowed to her, then raising his head his eyes fell upon her again. So seemed so much...different, then any he had met before.
He wondered if she could help him, but if would help perhaps if she gave a hint of where she lived. It would be grand if she was in the pridelands, then perhaps they could go their together.

On the contrary, Ruffian didn't feel very impressed with the male. Never in her life has she felt very impressed by a male, for her father had abandoned her mother before she was born, and when the Firekin invaded the Mistweaver lands so long ago, all she could remember were large males attacking everything she knew. She didn't outwardly hate males, but didn't think much of them. Just senseless brutes.
"A home where no family is, though? It's only a home because I was born there, nothing more." She said gently, the subject of home a little tender for her.
She glanced back up at the male, giving an acknowledging nod when he offered her his name. "Greetings well, Daemon. I am known as Ruffian."
She had another name, the name her mother gave her, but it was something that she didn't share with anyone. And it would stay that way.
"Where was your home?" She asked, not terribly interested, but why not? There wasn't much else to do, and like she said, she didn't even really want to go home.

He knew what it was like, to have no living family left, well, that he knew of. His mother had been lost when he was young, he never had a father figure in his life. His father stayed with his mother for only a short time, from what his mother had said. So he acknowledged her words, "I have no family left where I am going...but I want a home again. To feel like I belong somewhere."
"Ruffian," he said, letting her name slide off his tongue. Such an interesting name, "Such a lovely name."
"My home was in the pridelands. My mother traveled there to give me a suitable home to grow up in. Though she didn't stay with me long, I still think of her fondly..." he stopped for a moment. He missed her so much, wanted to become something to make her spirit proud. "I miss her, but I also want to find something of my own...hopefully, the pridelands will allow me to do that."
He thought for a momoent, and smiled at Ruffian, "You wouldn't know which way it was do you?" She didn't mention where she lived...perhaps home was a tough place for her.

Ruffian swished her tail as she let her own memories just slip off. She had her mother for long enough to be content living alone, and thus didn't feel much sorrow for her missing family.
She offered Daemon a nod, with a touch of understanding, but didn't speak about 'home' again. She flashed a smile when he took her name, content that he liked it. She had picked it for herself, and as such was proud of it.
"The Pridelands..." she repeated after he has asked her if she knew. "I know where they are, yes. Many know where they are. A very family-oriented pride, many reside there." She swished her tail again, a common thing with the black mistweaver. "I can take you there, yes."

Daemon watched ehr with interest, the way she swished her tail and spoke. Her name. So different. He liked it. He smiled at her saying that she knew where it was, it made his spirit lighten, like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders. But what was interesting, is that she would go with him.
It made him think.
"It would be great...but I do have a question, if you don't mind me asking Ruffian..." he thought for a moment, and tried to place his words correctly. "What about you? Are you not heading home? Or are you looking for a new one...pardon my asking if it was not right on my part..." he spoke honestly. It would be nice to travel with someone.
To not be alone.

Ruffian flicked her ears forward, not completely sure of what he was asking for. Was he just curious, or did he want her to stay with him? If it was the latter, wasn't he asking a little much of her? He barely even knew her.
She shifted her weight a bit, her mind a little befuddled.
"As I said, my home isn't really a home. I just live there from habit." Her tail gave another swish, a little softer then the others. Swallowing the scared side of herself, she put a determined stance into her body.
"I'll gladly escort you to the Pridelands, though."

Daemon's ice eyes watched her as she spoke. Her home wasn't really a home? Then shouldn't she find a better place? Find somewhere she could call home and want to stay in? To never have doubt or live there just because of habit. Who knew, perhaps on their way their together something could change.
True they had just met, but Daemon felt like he had met her before, where he wasn't sure. But something was definitely there, but perhaps he shouldn't dwell on it too much, even if he did have a tendency to be like this with females a lot. This time...it was different strangely.
"It would be my honor to have you escort me Ruffian," he said bowing his head to ehr, shifting his weight a bit onto his right hind leg, giving the other side of his tired body a rest.
This seemed like it could be the start of something new...maybe.

Ruffian's own soft-brown eyes glanced back at his, not shy to look him in the eye. She wondered just flittered through his mind when he looked at her. Was he bothered by what she said? She had too much pride to take anything back, but she hoped that she didn't insult him...too badly in anyway.
Ruffian gave him a little bow in return, for respect. "Alright, then." She said, swishing her tail before standing up.
"It's in the direction that you were walking towards, just a little bit more south." She mentioned as she began to walk. When she had taken enough steps to warrent a bit of distance between then, she turned back and looked over her shoulder, her tail flicking behind her.

He smiled and nodded at her and caught up to her, standing to the right of her, right by her side. "Then you can lead the way ruffian, and I will follow." This would be a whole new experience for Daemon. Actually going somewhere but having someone alongside him. Perhaps he and Ruffian could be friends, perhaps more. Only time would tell.
For now he padded alongside her, wondering how long it would be until they reached their destination. Who knows, perhaps Ruffian might stay...maybe, but that was for another time and place.
