Movie/game from: Little Mermaid (ONE!! Not the sequel or the tv show?)
Name: Kelina
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Race: Merpus (octopus human hybrid a la Ursula)
Height: 5' 5" (human height)
Weight: A lady never tells
Clothing description: 10 limbs (all arms?) with colouring like a blue ringed octopus but the background colour is a pale blue rather then yellow in a calm state. She can change her colour at will to blend in with the environment but when in a highly emotional state she looses control of this ability. She also wears a Buccina shell around her neck and a small pearl strand around her wrist. Other then that she has no clothing when in her normal state.
After waking up on Destiny Island she finds herself dressed in a long skirt patterned with octopus arms with a black background. The arms have the same pattern as her natural arms in a calm state. The top had mesh above the chest line that is the dark blue colour of her spots and the lower portion is plain black. She has a belt that sits on one hip and is studded with aqua coloured jewels. There are matching jewels along the trim of her dress and a few strands hang from her hip in loops as well as a chain. She also has unique black high heals with kitten heals and wrap around ties. The toe box is large in the Kingdom Hearts style. She still has her Buccina shell necklace and pearl bracelet.
Physical Appearance: Her octopus skin covers her front and most of her back with cap style sleeves over her shoulders. The octopus skin is tones of blue with a blue ringed octopus pattern as already stated. Her hair is a pale purple shade and styled in the girl's bao gaia style and her eyes reflect the colour of her background skin. They change colour as her skin does even in human form(when her octopus skin is not present only her eyes change), to her great annoyance.
Body build: Slim build with larger chest and great strength in her 8 octopus arms. While human her legs are fairly weak since she is very unaccustomed to walking.
Personality: Confident, diplomatic and out spoken. She is easily angered especially by her inability to control skin colour changes under stress which only makes the situation worse. Usually standoffish and does not make friends easily.
Background history: After growing up as one of the children of a servant in the Merpus royal castle she spent most of her time listening to the adults talking. From this she learned that most of the time people are ruthless and conniving behind each other's backs. This gave her a strong diplomatic background and a general distrust and distain for most others. Eventually her diplomatic ways landed her a position as the Merpus consultant at the Mermaid palace after Ursula was banished. She had only been there for about six months and had not had a lot of time to get to know anyone or bond with anyone. Of course she had met King Triton and his advisor Sebastian and the seven girls, some of which she still couldn't remember the names of, but she still didn't know any of them well. Arial had tried to get to know her but her usual stand off personality had pushed her away for long enough that she wasn't really trying so hard anymore. If anyone she was probably closest to Atina who was the only one who knew the story of her upbringing. And it wasn't because she told her either, someone had found out that her mother was a servant and that she had never met her father and some how Atina had gained the information. Thankfully she was a nice girl and hadn't told anyone or tried to black mail her with it. Hopefully it would stay that way but she could never really be sure.

 Personality: Usually quiet and shy in new situations but she has been working on that. Is more out going with friends and family.
Likes: Being with people and by herself as well, animals of all sort but pets and aquatic animals specifically, more specifically seals whee , her kitty Spyke, her fishy Floptical and her fiance Matt.
Dislikes: Being cold (which she almost always is), rude people, most green food.
Pet Peeve: People who say the word 'Sea Star' as if the animal were a fish...

Thoughts
Maeko: Unsure and unnerved by her confidence and knowledge of this strange new world.
Reyeth: Generally he seems like a nice guy but maybe he is a little too giving and friendly. For the most part she feels she can trust but it's a bit too soon to make any judgements.
Sora:Is obviously bouncy and enthusiastic. Sometimes that can be genuine but often it is a defense mechanism to cover some hurt or sadness. Judgement is also reserved for a later time.

A woman approaches you, she has flowing hair of black and white, with kind eyes she outstretchs a hand to you in the middle of her palm a small heart deep purple blue with a aqua swirl in the middle lays glowing.
You who have been hiding in the darkness with no form or life or your own. Take this and become one of the living. Picture in your mind what you want to look like and give your hopes and dreams form.
Kelina looked at the woman and stared at the jewel in her hand. She was strangely drawn to the aqua swirl and as she looked closer she felt a pull towards it. 'Hiding in darkness?' She repeated to herself in her mind. 'No form? No life? What was she talking about? She had a life.' She felt pulled from the inside toward to stone again. 'What I want to look like?' She had always been happy with her appearance. She wasn't her ideal picture of beauty but she wasn't ugly either. Just nice enough to get most guys she could want. 'Hopes and dreams?' She thought. 'Hopes and dreams?? What were her hopes and dreams? She had thought about finding the right merpus and settling down but was that really her greatest desire?' She looked deep inside herself and found a picture of her mother. She had seen her once when she was a little girl. Her mother had been scrubbing the floor and crying. Kelina had never asked her mother why she was crying that morning but the image had always stuck in her head. Thinking clearly 'I wish for a happy life for myself and those I love' she reached out and touched the stone with her finger tips.
The voice comes back to your mind, Kelina, you have been born from the darkness but light will still shine upon you. it is time you met the guardrian of light or the guardian of darkness. The world seems to swim before you.

You can only remember falling, for what seemed like an eternity through pitch black surroundings. You feel have awake, as if falling down a rabbit hole this must be a dream. But soon as if gravity decided to stop playing with you, your legs move towards the ground and you land. Looking this way and that you see only more blackness.
Don't be afraid the door is still shut. . . Words seem to appear in your mind you are startled but not afraid, the voice is ageless, sexless. As if the words were spoken directly into your thoughts.
There is so much to do and so little time. . .walk forward. . . as if against your will you take a step and then notice two doors identical to each other side by side. You look around and see nothing else.
Which door will you choose? One leads to the light, the other to darkness . . .Only you can decide. . . It is as if the voice is trying to encourage you to make a decision, but there is nothing to indicate which door will lead where. Taking a breath you reach out to grasp the door handle and turn the knob.
Standing in front of the doors Kelina thought about the words that she had just heard in her mind. 'One leads to the light, the other to darkness . . .Only you can decide. . .' She stood quietly. 'Light? Dark?' The doors looked the same to her. How could she choose? What if she choose wrong? Looking down at her arms she saw that 5 were pointing to the right and only 3 to the left when she landed. 'Well I can't think of any better way to chose.' She walked to the right door, grasp the handle and pushed open the door.
Behind the door revealed Maeko laid out on her stomach staring at the door with a bored expression. Her legs were crossed at the ankle and swinging slightly though never going to the ground. "Oh!" Maeko squeaked softly and floated up to stand on her feet, "You're here. I'm so happy you're here. I was lonely and bored!"
The room seemed to be a pitch black void, except for two sources of light. One which shined down upon Maeko and one which shined down upon a small chest height pillar.
"I am Maeko, Guardian of the Light." The silver-white haired girl bowed to her. The bored gaze in her amethyst colored eyes gone for the moment. "I'll let you introduce yourself before we get on to business." Maeko grinned and winked at Kelina awaiting her reply quietly. It was odd she didn't react to how the other figure looked. Though Maeko again sensed something somewhat familiar about Kelina. Something or someone Kelina last interacted with? Nah perhaps not. Maeko shoved the thought aside. It was time for her to concentrate on more important matters.
Kelina looked at the figure before her and attempted to size her up before speaking. Obviously this Maeko girl had the home court advantage but that didn't mean that she should give away all of her information. Slowly and thoughfully Kelina approched the girl though was sure to keep a little distance between them 'My name is Kelina. I work at the palace.' She took a step back as she concluded the statement and looked at the girl wating for a response.
She nodded, and seemed quite amused at how she was being sized up for the most part, "Well Kelina, I have a decision for you to make before you can resume your new life." Maeko worded this carefully. She wouldn't dare mention that Kelina's former world had been destroyed, that is why most of them appear here anyways...
She pointed to a pillar which now seemed more of a platform now of some sort. A pedestal, and three items started to take shape. A wand, a sword, and a shield.
There was something trance-like to Maeko's features as she went through the options, "You may only choose one. Once your choice is made there will be no other chances. You can't go back...Understood? Of course."
Maeko didn't give time for the girl to respond, "You can choose the power of the Mystic. This is represented by the wand." The wand glowed slightly brighter. "That is if the power of magic is the power you crave. Then again you could also choose to fight your battle with a blade or a weapon of some sort, to be a Warrior." The sword glowed a little brighter as well after that, "That power is represented by the sword you see. Finally you could choose to selflessly defend others and become a Guardian." The shield glowed slightly brighter now, "That power is represented by the shield. Which do you desire? Decide quick there isn't much time."
Kelina looked at the glowing objects in front of her. 'Another strange decision to make?' She thought to herself again. 'This place is so strange and I don't understand but if I look confident and don't show my confusion then she will never guess. Now which do I pick?' She looked at the objects in front of her. 'The sword? Nah, I would rather fight with my words then a weapon. The shield? No way. Why would I work so hard to defend people who are so likely to hurt me with what I have done for them. The wand? Yeah magic could be the way to go. Ursula had very powerful magic but she had used to so poorly. What was the point in owning souls and turning them to sea slugs? No much better to use your magic in unseen ways to help yourself out in the long run. Yes magic is the right choice.' She reached forward and grabbed the wand.
As soon as she reached for it and grabbed it, the wand shined brightly then disappeared from her grasp.
"Don't worry about that, dear. You'll get your own special wand soon enough. Now it is time to place you somewhere more appropriate." She laughed a bit, "Don't worry, there is no shame in being lost or asking for help." She winked a bit at the girl and waved a hand, "I'll see you again, I am sure."
After that, Kelina felt as if she was spinning, and getting sucked down somewhere. A faint feeling of getting sucked in to a whirlpool is the best way to describe it. Maeko was gone, disappeared from sight or rather Kelina disappeared from Maeko's sight.
Kelina found herself 'ankle' deep in the waters of Destiny Island..
