Another beautiful piece. Yes, some more adult themes, and a dark gothic outlook, but Angel Sanctuary is a wonderful manga and OVA.
A boy, Setsuna, feels his life is turning upside down. For one thing he is a sad teenager looking for love and wishes, and yet he seem's to be having feeling's for his little sister Sarah! The other: He also seems to have gotten on the wrong side of Heaven, and Hell! Setsuna is the reincarnation of an angel named Alexial, an angel who went up against god because of his views, and now he is being hunted by both the bad guys, the goods guys, and the celestial hiearchy! All Setsuna wants to do is live in peace, but these darned Evils and Angel's just keep coming back. Whats an eighteen year old to do?
Oddly enough, yes, it does have some incest, but it's hard to tell. Only in the beginning manga's does it seem to show any significance. On another note it's very bloody and gothic, a dark tale, and features beautiful artwork. The characters are done VERY well, and you are able to get into each and every one of them
The manga is 21 volumes long, and works very well for itself. It has a nice pace to it and allo's you to understand it very well. As for the OVA, three episodes long featuring the first three volumes, or the "Book of Earth".
This manga features alot of Heaven, Hell, and Earth issues with religion and conflict's based on these religion's, and throughtout it all it's still able to capture you and allow you to visit other religion's you may have never experienced.
All in all, I think Angel Sanctuary is a 9 out of 10.
