The Fa'e QuestThis is an ongoing quest, becuase it's fun to quest, and I have doubts about ever getting a Fa'e. ^^ And Anya is an awesome artist and had a great idea with the Fa'e. The Fa'e
[Name: Janx
Gender: Male
Stage: Teen
Mythbase: Russian/Slavic - Koschei the Deathless

Appearance: Black marking on his chest where the heart is, icy blue eyes, very thin/scrawny.
Powers: Quick self-healing, able to tell true treasure and objects from fake (but not lies from truth), capability to learn spellcasting.
Personality: Janx isn't the most social of people. He grew up in an area where any allies he made were due to how he fared in street fights and were just that, allies and not friends. He's never had a deep attachment to anyone and distrusts people who have such things. Janx has learned that the only person he can truly rely on is himself and he believes in only the things that he can touch and feel. This is compounded with a stubbornness to change his beliefs except (maybe) in the face of overwhelming proof and power. One of the few things he can respect is power, though his experience is with only the power of money and influence.
History: Koschei was born a fairly normal human who had a thirst for esoteric knowledge, leading him to become a wizard of great power. By this time he was fairly old and his natural lifespan wouldn't leave him much time to enjoy the fruits of his long study. Through the dark knowledge he had gained, Koschei took steps towards achieving immortality, beginning by removing his heart from his body and hiding it. He was then free to live as his power entitled him in a magnificent palace, surrounded by treasures from around the world.
Koschei eventually grew tired of accumulating wealth only in the form of treasure and decided to begin collecting beautiful princesses as well. Unfortunately, one of them had a betrothed who was determined to rescue her. That prince was kind and lucky, earning the aid of several creatures who helped him to find, capture and destroy Koschei's heart (hidden in a needle which was encased in an egg, inside of a duck, inside of a hare, inside of a chest, buried under an ancient oak tree), thus destroying the creatre called Deathless.
Guardian: Enara runs a pawnshop in a rougher part of town. She was surprised to find a baby boy on her doorstep one evening, but took him in on the offchance he had something valuable in his basket. (He didn't, but Enara wasn't opposed to help she'd only have to pay in food and clothes.) She's never been particularly motherly to the boy she calls Janx, usually treating him the same as she'd treat anyone, or else like an uncaring and much older sister. She was very surprised when she first realized how quickly his bruises and scrapes healed, and even more so when she learned he could tell her what pieces of her inventory were truly valuable as compared to the normal junk. Still, Enara was the one who taught Janx to believe only in what he could see and concocted her own explanations for the events, saying Janx must've been born to some rich family and have nannies (nanobots) in his body, helping him.
World: The world Enara and Janx live in is one of highly advanced technology, where nanobots and interplanetary travel are commonplace - among a certain class. The two live in one of the more dangerous low-class neighborhoods of a massive metropolis. Enara knows a fair bit about the rest of the city, the planet and the solar system, but decided long ago she didn't care. Janx's knowledge of geography breaks down somewhere around the borders of the city, where it flows seamlessly into its suburbs. There is no magic in this world, only technology in countless applications.
Tell Us About Their Dark Side: In his previous life as Koschei, Janx was an evil man, concerned only with himself and slowly being eaten away from the inside by greed. In his new life he is fairly neutral for the moment, but his experience is much more with the negative sides of life, and he can understand what drives people to evil much better than what compels them to do good.Yes I did copy and paste part of my nightmare contest entry. Easier than typing things out twice.
