Duhushi opened his eyes at the first rays of the sun. He yawned and slowly lifted himself up. His paw gently slid off the warmth beside him as he stretched long purple legs. Green eye slowly drifted to the lioness beside him. All the memories from the night before flooded his mind and a soft chuckle rose from his chest. The male dipped his head down and gave a slow lick across her muzzle. It seemed like such an insignificant act considering what the moon had witnessed. He yawned again and stumbled his way to the small pool. The water was still cool and refreshing as ever and the grass was wet wth early morning dew.

Amleth's nose twitched as Duhushi ran his rough tongue along it. She made a face and sneezed, blinking sleepily. "Fwuh?" the young lioness mumbled, lifting a paw to rub the sleep from her eyes. She yawned and stretched, waking far more slowly than her companion. After a brief grooming, she padded softly after him, bumping against him playfully and offereing him a little smile. "Good morning."

The water was cool against against his dry throat. He barely heard Amleth wake. A soft purr rumbled through him as he gently nipped at her shoulder. He smiled and began grooming his paws, scars almost transparent now. His face was clear of any disfigurement and the long scars made him, in fact, more attractive in his eyes. The newly grown 'mane' fell into his eyes as he gazed upon the lioness beside him. "Good morning Angel. Sorry if I woke you."

"S'okay!" She replied, gazing blearily into the pool and dipping down to take a cool drink. Her dark-tipped tail flicked idly behind her as she straightened up again, licking a few drops of water from her whiskers. "Didja sleep well, Duhu?" she asked with a purr, nudging him and offering a mischevious sort of grin.

A grin spread over his features as he brushed his head against her. "Quite well..." He chuckled and dipped his head down for another drink. The suns heat hadn't reached the small oasis and he reveled in the seemingly last cool water on the savannah. He licked and shook the water from his muzzle and sat beside her, wondering about the night before. "Amleth..." He sighed, looking down at his reflection and the ripples in the pond.
"Are you at all angry with me?" He had stayed up for some time afterward just wondring if he had done something wrong. "I didn't force you...did I?"

Amleth yawned again, still harboring the remnants of sleep, and turned to her companion, giving him a long look. "What do YOU think?" the lioness huffed, leaning over and nipping at his ear. "Of course I'm not angry with you." she said finally, smiling in what she hoped was a reassuring manner. She stretched out on the cool ground beside the pool and looked up at the sky contentedly.

Duhushi smiled weakly and yawned again. Maybe sleep was contagious? "Good. I wouldn't have forgiven myself if I'd made you do that." He laid beside her, gently nipping and nuzzling her scruff. Everything had finally come together in his life. He was now the official prince of the graveyard, he was home and spent the most glorious night with the most beautiful lioness. "What would you say if I said that I loved you?" He chuckled and nipped her ear, trying his best to mask his nervousness.

"You worry too much," Amleth murmured teasingly, sticking her tongue out at him. She lay still for a moment, letting him nuzzle her, and then grinned. "I'd say 'you'd damn well better, after all that'." the lioness replied with a cackle, lifting a paw to bat at his face.

Duhushi laughed. The smile never left his face as he nudged her, licking whatever he could find about her head. "Then...I love you Amleth. I always have. I just didn't know what it was before..." The familiar feeling in his stomach twisted once more before his body was at peace. Maybe love was real unlike what he had first thought. He nipped playfully at her paws.
"Do you love me?"

Amleth whapped him lightly with the flat of her forepaw and leaned forward to n** at his ears. "Heey, you're getting drool on me!" she teased, before quieting down and looking a little more serious. She watched Duhushi with a soft smile on her muzzle, then placed a paw on his shoulder and reached up to lick his cheek. "Of course I do."

"Duh. i'm licking you. What'd you expect?" Duhushi rubbed his muzzle. "Watch where you're swinging those paws of yours. It's like getting hit by a water buffalo." He smiled and scratched lightly behind his ears. The expression on his face softened as he gently licked her nose. "Good. Just making sure." He had never suspected that they would grow to want to be with eachother. He'd always thought it would be wierd of gross but it seemed...right. "We should go tell my father. He'd love to meet my...mate" He nuzzled into her neck, a light blush across his maw.

Amleth laughed and raised a paw again in mock-threat. "And you said I couldn't beat you!" she cackled, grinning. At mention of his father, she lept up, beaming. "Of course! I always wanted to meet your family!" the lioness exclaimed. "Let's go, it'd be best to travel now, before it gets too hot." She waved her tail happily and looked towards the graveyard.

[Duhushi cowered away from her paw, laughing. "Oh god. Please don't hit me Angel." He swallowed his laugh and stood. "You could never beat me. i'm just humoring you my love." He nipped at her ear as he looked out among the bones. Ausha could have been anywhere. Grumbling softly to himself, the purple prince examined his claws. Hopefully his father wouldn't be an embarassment. "I'm not sure if we'll find him but was can certainly look."

Amleth wiggled from side to side excitedly, grinning back at Duhushi. "C'mon, let's go! You do wanna go home, don't you?" she said happily, starting off towards the looming bones at a quick trot.

Duhushi came after her at a dead sprint. It was so wonderful to finally be going home. His paws kicked up familiar dust as they got closer to his home. The sun had finally begun heating the already scorched land as they continued to what they knew was home.
