Closet_Ninja "You may be r..."
At that moment, a slight draft caugh the full-length poster at the far end of the space. In that second, Cervantes could see a door nad nothing was getting in his way now.
"There's a secret door behind the poster. We're going."
He turned, not even checking if she was coming, and made his way to the end of Slot machines. He took a quick look around, and slipped in behind them, quietly.

Alice would've replied but he was already gone, so she ducked in behind him, following closely.
"Why are we going in here?" she asked before sneezing cutely (quite like a cat, actually), "It just looks dark and strange..."

"Exactly!" He was getting a little over excited, but his voice was lost in the sounds of the slot machines and excited patrons. He reached the poster in a moment, and took a quick look around. Satisfied itwas clear, he slid in ebhind the poster, and through the door way, looking back only to ensure he wasn't going alone.
If something was to happen, hopefully she'd be able to run a little faster than before.
Bah.

Alice, not wanting to be caught, quickly picked up the hem of her skirt and scrambled in after him. Taking the door into her own hands, she made sure that the poster looked undisturbed before shutting it.
In the darkness, she couldn't even see Cervantes in front of her. She could feel his breath, though, and that was a little bit of a comfort.
"Where to now?"

It was very dark, and it took a moment for Cervantes' eyes to adjust to the lower lighting.
"I'm not sure, but..."
A short distance away a faint light could be seen on the wall. A small circle with an arrow pointing down.
"An elevator!" He backed himself into her, and grabbing her head, angled it so she was looking the same direction he was.
"You wanna push the button?" He teased.

Alice's eyes narrowed at the young pirate as she deftly pried herself away from his grip and walked to the elevator. Turning to face him, she quickly pressed the button.
Then, in an all-too-serious voice she said: "I pushed the button."
The elevator was surprisingly quiet, only a tiny whirr came and a soft 'ding' announced its arrival.
"You want to go in first, Captain?"

Snarky little thing..
"Yeah. Yeah I do."
With the elevator doors open, the corridor was flooded with light and they could see it was just that. A corridor. Plain metallic walls, and floor that fainly echoed the steps of his heavy boots. A more stealthy individual might ahve cared, but not Cervantes.
Though, he was supposed to be sneaking.
He stepped onto the elevator and pushed the lowest basement level he coud find. Nothing happened. He tried the next one up and again, nothing happened.
"Uh.. weird."

"Huh, why isn't it working?" she raised an eyebrow, "Maybe you should try the top buttons."
She paused to shrug.
"There could be levels above this one, maybe."
Alice reached forward and pressed the top button, hoping that there weren't any cameras in the elevator or anything.

The elevator started to move, slowly lowering itself down a single floor and sitting idly a moment before the doors slid aside. This floor seemed to be just a storage space for extra machines and tables.
"That's boring. I'm picking the next floor!"
He wedged himself between Alice and the panel of buttons, continuing from where he'd left off. He worked his way up the floors until finally, one press took, and the doors slid shut, starting their decent.
It was ten floors down, but Cervantes couldn't help wonder what was on the floors below it.

"Hey!" Alice pouted as Cervantes came between her and the panel.
"Well, hopefully it won't be too long before the doors open," Alice resigned to her fate and crossed her arms, looking at the handsome boy that had his back to her.
Grinning mischeviously, she snuck forward and poked him in the small of his back.
"Boo!"

The elevator seemed to be taking it's time as it crawled down deeper into the ground. Why would a casino need so many basement levels?
It was then he noticed a small grey box to the left of the buttons. It had a small light, and a narrow gap running vertically through it, about the width of a credit card.
"Hey, now what do you suppose tha..."
He felt a poke at his back.
He turned to her, confused. "Huh?"

"Hm?" Alice looked at him innocently. When she saw that she hadn't scared him, she shooked her head, "It's nothing, don't worry about it."
It was then that she peered at the odd box, "I didn't notice that before. What do you suppose it could be, Captain?"

"I was hoping you knew."
He thought a moment but was interrupted as the elevator dinged, and stopped. Cervantes' head darted up to the floor numbers, displayed above the door. It was the floor he'd selected, but he wasn't taking a chance of getting caught.
Even as the door slid aside, he grabbed Alice's wrist and pulled her against the wall, he too pushing himself against it. He slowly peered around the corner, noticing several computers in a room at the far end of the hall. Most of them were on, but only a few were manned. They hadn't noticed the elevator, or paid it little heed, and so Cervanted proceded into the hallway, never letting go of Alice as he slid cautiously around the corner.
The floors here were carpeted, but the lighting was still as poor here as it was on the floors above. Likely conserving energy for the chaos on the main floor, maybe. On either side of the corridor were a boys and girls washroom, and further down on the left was another room.
The area seemed like an office space, rather boring but for the fact none of the men were dressed for business. They all had lab coats save a few who seemed to be overseeing the project. They all wore either Black or White and bore a large red R on their shirt.
Cervantes' heart raced, and he turned back to Alice, releasing his grip on her. He brought a finger to his lips, telling her to be quiet, as obvious as it was, and turned, quietly creeping along the left wall.

Alice swore that her heartbeat would alert the strange men of their presence, but nodded when Cervantes made the gesture. Bunching her skirt together so it wouldn't make any noise, Alice slipped behind Cervantes and moved practically against him. She had no idea what he was looking for, but she was too terrified to suggest otherwise.

They made their way down the hall, past the washrooms and onward. The men at the computers were lost in their research, and the guards weren't in their line of sight, seemingly unaware of the intruders. The more Cervantes saw, the more he wanted to see.
In a moment, they reached the last door on the left, a few yards from the open area with the computers. Across the room, they could now see a large window overlooking a lower level. They couldn't see down, but could tell it was a large, open area.
Taking a quick peak in the doorway now upon them, Cervantes slipped quickly into the tile-floored lunch room. The only way to see in was through that door, and for now, this was a safe place to make plans from. There were a pair of long tables in the middle of the room, a snack and drink machine at the far end, and on the wall opposite them, a sink, some cupboards and a fridge.
The room was well lit, but at least they were alone.
He faced Alice once more, and in a hushed tone, spoke. "I think it's safe here, for now."
