The tome before you belongs to Hakugen and Ying. There is a seal surrounding the book, one that allows you to leaf through the pages but prevents you from adding anything. The enchantment is strong and cannot be broken so easily, if at all. So just sit back and enjoy the Tall Tale that is unfolding before you. You can visit the Stationery Store to find out how you can write your own Tall Tale.

Clutching a sleeping Luna in her arms, Junyi quickly pushed her way into the store, biting her lip nervously.

"H... Hello?"

"Hm? Oh hello." Huni began, rising from the plush armchair while trying to still a squirming Linneas. "You've returned to purchase some notebooks?" she smiled, recalling Junyi. It wasn't often that the red head remembered a person, given how scatterbrained she could sometimes be.

Linneas remembered Luna very well though, and instinctively shrank back expecting another barrage of thoughts. Maybe he had done something to make Luna displeased with him and thus warrented the jumble of visions? He only hoped she wasn't mad at him or anything.

Ning hadn't met Junyi or Luna, the fandangle hadn't arrived yet. But seeing how her bonded reacted, she hovered protectively close to Linny.

"Actually... I came for pens," she answered, her gaze slightly turning toward Linneas. "...Do you have any that are made of glass or have a glass outside covering?"

Luna was still asleep, but Linneas's fear still hit her full-force. She quietly whimpered and buried her face in her mother's shoulder.

"Pens with glass?" Huni blinked, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "Err, I'm not sure, but we might have some in the boxes upstairs. I'll go see, you're free to look around though." she offered as she carried Linneas back upstairs.

Linneas wasn't sure whether or not Luna was awake, but then the crankiness returned and at that point he wasn't in the mood to think. He yawned, maybe all he needed was a nap.

Ning followed after her bonded and Huni, glancing curiously back at Luna and Junyi before zipping up the stairs.

With the red head gone, the Study door quietly opened. The aura coming from inside the room was a little odd but otherwise harmless, if not intriguing.

"Thank you so much!" Junyi calld after Huni, standing perfectly still. Even if she was told to look around, what would she look at? All she wanted was a pen for Jokeph; one he wouldn't corrode.

However...

Her gaze wandered to the study, and she suddenly found herself moving toward it.

No, she thought to herself as she stopped. I'm waiting right here.

But...

Curiosity eventually won over. Casting a final glance at the stairs, she scooted toward the study and peeked in.

With Junyi just peeking in, the Study door couldn't close, at least not without decapitating the woman. And blood was not something the Study liked, the Tome on the other hand was a different story. But that was a story best left untold, or at the very least for another day. In the stillness of the shop, there came a soft, almost inaudbile whisper.

come closer

Clutching Luna protectively, Junyi instinctively stepped forward, eyes glazed as she made her way inside.

"...H....Hello?" She called quietly, voice barely above a whisper.

As Junyi enters into the Study, the door seemingly follows her and quietly closes behind her. The Tome atop the writing table seems to vibrate, trembling in anticipation perhaps?

Junyi didn't notice the door closing; if she had, she would've most definiately panicked.

She instead crept toward the tome, peering at the pages through wide eyes.

What.... is this?

The Tome opens, blank pages ruffling before settling into the stillness they had been in. A pen was encased within, resting neatly in the spine. And words strangely appear onto the pages:

"What are we going to do tonight, Brain?"

Again the soft whisper answer me.

At this, Junyi snorted.

What the HELL?

All that mystery, all that eerieness... for a CARTOON reference?

This was a joke, right?

Taking the pen, she began scribbling without even thinking; pure sarcasm taking over.

Same thing we do every night, Pinky... try to take over the world!

"Heh."

The sound of Junyi's snort echoes and gradually fades into manic laughter. Wild, maniacal, euphoric, and just plain insane laughter. The room darkens, and oddly enough cartoonish music filters in. The song plays for a span of five seconds, and a spotlight suddenly shines down onto the writing table. A silhoutte of something... someone is seated atop of the table. And when the song ends, the laughing ceases and the lights return, the silhoutte is actually a child.

Her eyes shine as she grins up at Junyi. In one hand she holds a staff, (metal or wood it's difficult to tell until one is hit with it) in the other a tome. Embossed on the cover in Junyi's handwriting is the word "Ying."

Junyi's eyes went wide and she took a step backward, her breath catching in her throat.

This was all a prank? It had to be! That kid... of course... but what... how... why...?

It had to have been a prank, all carefully orchestrated by the child on the table.

Had to be a prank.

Definitely a prank.

"Well played, kid."

Sometimes, things don't go as planned.

Circumstances change. Beliefs change. Wants, desires, needs change. It's a part of life, and one that often has sad consequences.

And sometimes, things change back to what they used to be.

A home of empaths is a home for empaths, and those with such talents should be raised where those talents can be nurtured and developed.

But what of those who can only hear, but project silence?

Some simply have too much left in their home to be able to leave it.

A stubborn child can be as immovable as a mountain when they follow their hearts.

However, with stubbornness comes strength, and thankfully, both are qualities that Ying has in abundance.

Perhaps all she needed was the incentive to make it on her own.

User Image Name: Ying
Age: 10
Height: 4'8
Weight: 85 lbs
Blood Type: A+

Likes: Books, history, the Three Kingdoms era (especially Zhuge Liang), martial arts, weaponry, swords, spears, astronomy, robotics, science, strategy
Dislikes: Stupidheads
Hobbies: Reading, taking gadgets apart

Described by a song: Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires - Opening -DW BROS. Mix-

Ying is the scariest kind of troublemaker; cool, calculating, and able to quickly figure out which buttons she can push to get the greatest effect. It's not to say she's an evil genius; simply a mischievous one- so she'd say. She loves pranks and jokes, and is always devising new ways to pull a fast one on those around her.

She constantly strives for improvement; whether it is in her own life or in her environment. Altering objects, buildings, even HERSELF in the name of advancement. The road to perfection is often littered with the failures of its endeavors, just as Ying's actions (and inventions!) are often met with spectacular failures in the form of hurt feelings, broken toys, and sometimes, property damage.

As all things require improvement, so does the world. Ying's greatest dream is to one day make the world a perfect, utopian society... with her as the ruler, of course. Empress, Prime Minister, Conquistadora.

Despite her arguably megalomaniacal tendancies, Ying possesses a strong sense of honor and justice. She does everything in her power to keep from harming another person, although their property is another issue altogether. In the case of duels and great insults toward herself and those she protects, she may be moved to strike an armed apponent, however. In most cases, though, she doesn't get angry; she simply gets even.

She enjoys building, inventing, martial arts, reading, strategy games, and competetive sports.

To read her Binary/Hex/Octal encoded entries, I suggest this translator.

User Image Liang is a Juusanshi, his disc entrusted to Junyi's care by Trio Maxwell-Chang. Ying immediately took an interest in the stone, her eyes seldom leaving it when she found herself in its presence. Finally, one night, the call became too much to resist, and she snuck into Junyi's room, took advantage of her mother's half-dazed state of mind, and conned the stone out of her possession.

Junyi allowed Ying to keep the stone, however, and when it came time to summon Liang, Ying was the one to take part in the summoning. She was asked to take care of Liang, and does so as best as she can.

Liang is quiet, reserved, thoughtful, and very wise. Though he left much behind, he's found a new home in Gaia. When Ying decided she wanted to stay behind on Gaia, Liang went with her not out of obligation, but out of devotion. He greatly enjoys Ying's company, and he's one of the few people who truly understands her, just as she is most likely the only person who truly understands him.
