I've been looking on and off to what sort of stuff I'd need to build me a tube preamp that works with microphones and guitars. I'm thinking that all I want in it is a simple set of controls for gain, master out and some eq, and I'd also like to incorporate a DI in the system. I'm having a hard time finding anything online that explains how to do this damnit..... and I'm not going to take a Signal Processing course until next term... AUGHH.... me likey tubes! me likey tubes!
What do you think about the tube sound? Have you ever had any luck trying to build anything with tubes in them?
