Maylin sat under a tree eating her dinner enjoying the nice cool day. "Fall is soon to be here." she said with a large smile on her face. "the leaves will change, the nights will become longer, and the days will feel comfortable." She sighed happily, excited about fall.

She pranced around the field, feeling the joys of growing up... she was so close to being a young adult now, she could feel it! But Aunt Aruna said she was a "late bloomer", meaning she grew much later than any others, but it also meant she would grow up very beautiful. She was anticipating the day at any time now! Fall was a great season; one of her favorites. She hadn't really liked summer (whoo, it was TOO hot) and spring made her sneeze a lot. But fall--now, fall was just a GREAT season. Great for frolicking and playing and... huh? She spotted an odd looking little creature eating. She decided to investigate.

Maylin had just finished her supper when she saw the filly. Her nose went crazy sniffing the scent of the young one. She quietly and carefully headed towards the filly. She figured out how small the little one was and smiled. "Hello young one." aw she's just like Nanali She thought to herself. "How are you today?" she looked up to the filly.

Mocha eyed the little creature curiously and then grinned. "You're cute! What are you?" Young one? "Hey, wait a minute! I'm not little! I'm almost full-grown!" she said indignantly, but then she laughed and bent down to look at the creature in the eyes. "I'm good! Just bored, but then I found you! My name's Mocha! And you?" She wondered how it was she could understand other creatures unlike her, and then just shrugged off the thought.

Maylin looked up to the smaller horse. "Well you are younger than some of the horses I have met so you are a young one. Sorry I won't call you that anymore." She smiled and thought the name Mocha in her head. "That's a lovely name Mocha. My name is Maylin." Nodded her head a little.

Mocha shrugged at Maylin's comment, but then wagged her tail (similarly to the way a dog wagged its tail) as she agreed about her name. "My name's nice. But so's yours! I might be younger, but at least I can still have fun, unlike a lot of those grown-ups." She snorted, as if to say that that was the right way to do things. Adults were always nasty and depressed or sad or something, and she didn't think she'd want to grow up into that kind of thing.

Maylin smiled at the filly. "Well some of the older horses are very fun." She nodded her head and swivled her ear to listen to the sound of a horses hooves beeting on the ground. She turned her head to see a stallion who she knew very well.
Apple was running around the fields when he saw Maylin with a filly. He ran over to them happily. "Hello." He said putting his head down to nuzzle the small wolf. "Who is this lovely filly?" He said smiling at Mocha.

She blushed at the stallion's comment, as it was sudden, but she appreciated it, nonetheless. "I'm Mocha!" she said happily, grinning at Maylin. "Yeah, some adults are fun, but there's only a few of them who are like that." Then again, Mocha was still a filly and she still didn't quite understand the adult world. She began to flap her wings in an attempt to try and fly again. She wrinkled her nose at the stallion, and began to giggle. "You smell like apples! Did you eat lots of apples before you came here?"
