I recently discovered an N64 emulator that allowed me to play online against other people. Project64K. I love it.
Playing online against other people is moderately fun. Not nearly as laggy as I would've guessed. But the real joy is using the emulator's ability to manipulate the game. Doing things that otherwise couldn't be done on the original.
Smash Bros kicks a** because I can set all four players to play as Master Hand. We can slap eachother around using his quirky moves. Then we can play as Metal Mario, Giant DK, or the polygons for other nifty challenges.
Mario Kart is amusing when all players have infinite bananas. Hundreds of them littering the track. You'd think the player in the front has a huge advantage, but once he finishes a lap he has to deal with an insanely large number of bananas scattered across the field.
I need to try out Perfect Dark, Starfox, and Mario Party to see if there are any interesting quirks to playing them with cheats online. But so far, this has been loads of fun.

Unless it's killing scrubs as RUGAL(!) in '98/'02.

Father Knows Best ~ AerisEsper I recently discovered an N64 emulator that allowed me to play online against other people. Project64K. I love it. Recently? O_o It's been around forever >_> I've stayed away from N64 emulators because I thought the lack of analog controls was a major detriment to the gaming experience. And... to an extent, it is. Aiming in Goldeneye is total s**t.

Omega Darkness Father Knows Best ~ Just get an Xbox 360 controller (wired) 3nodding Explain this. Now. I think he is saying that when you plug in your 360 controller into the pc that you are ble to play games with it. I never tried this myself but I have used similar type of controller(not similar in looks or brand mind you) and pluged it into my computer and it could play my roms.

The controller just wouldn't work with the PC. I want to hear it from someone who managed to get it to work.
