Okay fellow guild members! That's right, you heard it! A guild forum cleanup!
Basically, to prevent this guild from overflowing with old RPs (yes, it *will* eventually happen; think of this as a pre-emptive strike against that), we will start removing old RPs that people haven't posted in for awhile.
The big question is though, how old should an RP be before we actually remove it? Use the poll to give us your feedback.
Of course, for now, the option 'Never' may be more viable than others, but if you think about it, there are some RPs that weren't even touched (yes, I know, but don't get discouraged if people don't post in your RP--Either it's not their genre, or it may be too intimidating, but just get up and try again wink ), or barely touched. As well, some will end up dying out.
Although, I do think it is fair that if there is a good enough RP that people enjoy reading, we can also vote to make it a 'Historical RP' so that it can't be removed.
Anyways, if you have any thoughts on this, post away in this thread. This is going to remain a sticky for awhile.
Of course, if we do decide on a time limit, and further down the line decide to change it, we can always have another vote then to see if the policy should be changed.

The idea is to keep people from posting in threads that have been abandoned as well as keeping the forum looking somewhat neat. As Exaggio said, at the present moment this may not be the best idea, but we still want some idea of what people think about it. We will, of course, PM the people whose threads would fit in the category just to make sure everyone is aware of what's going on.
Can I please ask people to post there opinion as well as voting? New thoughts on this are always welcome.

My twins RP hasn't been touched but I don't mind, it has been going very well in Barton Town. ^^
I don't quite know what to do in this situation. Of course ones that haven't been touched can go, like my Twins RP. It's a perfect example where no one seems to be interested etc. People can se it has gone down the list.
There are some RPs of mine that I would like to keep though, because the posts are great, I love looking back through them for a read and get inspiration, also to see how people have responded to certain ideas.
I think two months and if it isn't populated then it should..well..I don't know what would happen to it.
Maybe a thread can be put up, each Person in the guild can take one post only in this thread and keep updating it with ideas for new RPs, they can try them out and if they don't work out at least people can see that it was an idea and could PM the creator to see if they want to restart it. I know I don't make sense because i've just come back from a very long day at work but If you need an example then I will give you one.
Anyway there we go, my ideas. ^^;;

I think if the members of the rp are active in the guild still then it should stay up unless they say they dont have a problem with it being deleted. I mean, even though theres 51 members in the guild, not all of them still post ^_^;; so if the people started a thread and havnt been heard from since, I think it'd be okay to delete. I agree with Fare though, it is really fun to look back on the old posts even if the rps arent really active anymore. Heh, I still look at talisman sometimes from when I could barely do the 200 words XD
But! It would help if people who were leaving the guild or knew the rp was dead would pm one of the mods if it was okay to delete it.

Well, if people really wanted to preserve some RPs, we could always mark some of them 'historical' (and lock the thread possibly). That way, we have a way to keep RPs around if anyone wants to.
Of course, to make sure our forums also don't have nothing but historical threads in them, we can always do votes or otherthings when such a need arises. But for now, we just need something to do a little summer cleaning.

WEll, I agree taht some of them should be deleted, but sometimes it's just that people don't post anymore and you are waiting for some-one else or sometimes the person you're roleplaying with is on vacation and doesn't post for a while... So it might be better to check that from time to time, before you delete something..

GreekFate WEll, I agree taht some of them should be deleted, but sometimes it's just that people don't post anymore and you are waiting for some-one else or sometimes the person you're roleplaying with is on vacation and doesn't post for a while... So it might be better to check that from time to time, before you delete something.. This is the exact reason that JB came up with the thread for those that aren't going to be around for a bit. This way, if anyone is waiting on a certain someone to post in a thread, but we know they're out for a bit or something, we won't put it on the deletion queue. Of course, if anyone has an issue with a thread being deleted, they can either post it here, PM either JB or me, or post in the OOC thread or the away thread. We check all of those, and if you've posted there about a thread, then chances are, we've seen it.

Okay, the poll results have spoken...
As well as some examples have been done on the guild...
Any thread that hasn't been touched for 3 months will be marked for deletion. The date in parenthesis is the deletion date. Any time after that date, the thread can't have any gurantees when it will dissappear.
If you feel a thread has been marked incorrectly, just go ahead and post in it, or message either me or JB and we'll remove the 'Marked for Deletion', or at the very least, extend the date if we feel that it's still a lost cause.
Any comments/complaints/criticism is welcome.

How will historic threads be decided? There may be disagreement on them, and some people might want to keep all their old RPs...

No thread will be considered historic unless it has more than so many pages to it or has been widely approved by the rest of the guild. Currently, I just mark off all dead RPs as history until such time as they are deleted completely. In the future, when we have a lot more RPs to worry about, we'll probably have votes on which RPs we keep and which get deleted (assuming they have been abandoned).

Also, for now, since we don't actually have that many active RPs at any one moment, just post something in the RP list thread about it, and we'll keep it.
Right now, we're just doing this to keep those RPs which no one wants or no one cares for anymore cluttering up those that we want to keep.
