Has anyone here played a Turbo Grafx 16? I own a japanese version personally and it's the best purchase I made. I completely missed the original launch since all the media focus was on Genesis and SNES plus it barely got any shelf-time from what I had seen. I just heard about it around the time Castlevania Symphony of the Night came out when people were talking about Dracula X (the prequel) on the PC Engine (the Japanese name for Turbo Grafx 16). I decided to check out the games and they're quite fun.

I've never played one, though I am interested. Next time I'm at your place I'll try it.

I've considering buying one, but I don't even know if there are any games worth it for. What notable releases were on the Turbo grafx?

Ironically if you want the MOST out of your Turbo Grafx just import a japanese one. The US Turbo Grafx was good an all just we were screwed out of some really good titles (and the same titles sometimes are cheaper in Japan and are virtually the same), but it's good to have a US Turbo Grafx anyway for some Hu-Card based RPGs.
Best US Releases:
Neutopia (Its a Legend of Zelda clone but it's cool)
Neutopia 2
Bonk
Bonk's Revenge
Bonk 3 (get japanese though, American release is so rare you'd find wasting at least 80 bucks on it gonk )
Legendary Axe
Legendary Axe 2
Cadash
Devil's Crush
Alien Crush
Galaga 90'
Blazing Lasers
Super Star Soldier
Soldier Blade
Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu (It pwnz over NES version)

There are more but I can't remember at the moment. Also notice, if you want to use CD's you need a CD attachment so it'd be best if you get a Turbo Duo (a Hu-Card and CD in 1 device). I know you can get a Turbo Grafx around Spadina in that one game shop we once passed in the Korea Town Gathering but if you want the Japanese system or Turbo Duo you'd need ebay for it. Just message me on MSN and I'll help you choose one or give you the emulator to try out some roms so you can see 3nodding

I got 2 controller extentions a week or so ago so if you guys come over for my birthday, we can all play Turbo Grafx games biggrin Though I only got 2 pads (the 6 button that came with the PC Engine RX, and the 3 button pad that I bought which is supposed to be used for some games since the Turbo Grafx was a 2 button system, but its good for alot of games where the start button is used often like a normal button instead of pausing the game)
