Hi All! I am redoing a fur suit charater after a terrably failed atempt and I was just wanting to get some input from others who have some ideas or experiance to share with me on the topic.

Ok, just to explain on my costume...
I went as the Nina/Alexander Chimera (or as my friends and I say Nina+Inu=Ninu) From FMA to AFO 7.
My first mistake was to take a shortcut and graph the fur onto a normal pair of pants and a button down shirt, so I wouldn't have to line it. It was tottaly hand stiched but the stiches caused the fabric to bunch just enough that it became really tight. Alot of stiches snapped when I put it on. Then I relise that there are places ALL OVER the costume where the shirt and pants could be seen (they were kahaki thank god I had the foreshight to do that much) So since I'm having to fix all these problems at the con, I brought some extra fabric and pinned it on trying to cover the 'holes'. Made an already tacky looking costume worse.
The pants were a problem all their own since I had gimpped out at the last minute and insted of making a pant form out of the fur I made a multi layer skirt for around the hip area that had the furry legs comming out from under it. I looked absolutely retarded.
I do have to admit I was running a really high feaver at AFO so with it being the middle of summer the hot and heavy fur suit was just not the priority I wanted it to be.
But I really like this costume and I am now going back and trying this again so I can take it to Anime South '06 (Early November...THATS when to wear a fur suit! not the end of July.....) I salvaged the mask, which I spent FOREVER on and it turned out WONDERFULY It's probbaly my favorite costume excessory that I have ever made. Also saved the gloves, which attach to the sleaves and the shoes which are Garfeild slippers covered and made to look like paws. Now I've bought a pattern, figured out how to use it (I've been making my own costumes from scratch since 2002 and just now learned how to use one...I still don't like thoem though), and I've put my peices and just need to get off my lazy butt and sew it all together.
After some thought I decided to forego the lining whcih I hope I won't reget later. I plan to wear a long sleave shirt made of a sheer gause like material and a pair of cappris under it. They're light enough that hopefully I won't cook and I'm also betting that the con on the beach in november will call for some rather warm costumes.
So what do you all think? Am I crazy to ditch the lining? Do you guys think the full fur suit is the best method? I really would like to get some input on this and making animal anime charaters in general I think. Who knows If I can pull this off maybe I can pull off other animal/mascot charaters!

Found some pictures of the costume taken by AnimeBelle. These are the best pcitures there are of this costume.
This one has been edited so that a gap in the fur at my neck isn' showing. The next picture isn't edited.

Well so far so good! I finished the body suit about three days ago. All I've got to do now is attach the mask and dark fur, salvaged from the original and the gloves, also salvaged. *crosses fingers*
It's kinda taking a while for me to find time to work on it since I'm also working and trying to make my friend's Tenko armband for his Ueki Kosuke costume. (Anime: Law of Ueki) It's comming out well also. I'm just about done attaching Fur to it and now I'm going to make the beads out of salt dough (SOOOO much cheeper than buying clay, I can make that stuff the the stuff here in my kitchen) Then we have to figure out what Heveanly Star Level he is when he first fights Robert in the series, since I'll be going as Robert. That way they can be painted the right color.
I do hope to get pictures of all of these when they're done to come and show you all. well...JA!
