The Grim Reaper
Death has been personified as a figure or fictional character in mythology and popular culture since the earliest days of storytelling. Because the reality of death has had a substantial influence on the human psyche and the development of civilization as a whole, the personification of Death as a living, sentient entity is a concept that has existed in many societies since the beginning of recorded history. Examples of death personified are:

-Conversely, Death is sometimes portrayed as a beautiful woman.

-Father Time is sometimes said to be Death.
-A psychopomp is a spirit, deity, or other being whose task is to conduct the souls of the recently dead into the afterlife.

Dean (over the Doctor): Screw you doc! I'm waking up!
Doctor: -with his degree of injury wouldn't have survived this long. He's fighting very hard. But you need to have realistic expectations.
Dean: C'mon Sam. Go find some HooDoo Priest to lay some mojo on me! I'll be fine. Sam!
John: Right. Here. Give them my insurance.
Sam: Elroy McGillicutty?
John: And his two loving sons. So... What else did the doctors say about Dean?
Sam: Nothing. Look, since the doctors won't do anything, then we'll have to. That's all. I don't know, I'll find some HooDoo Priest and lay some mojo on him.
John: We'll look for someone.
Sam: Yeah.
John: But Sam... I don't know if we're gonna find anyone...

Dean: Come on dad. You gotta help me. I gotta get better, I gotta get back in there. You haven’t called a soul for help. You haven’t even tried. Aren’t you gonna do it? Aren’tcha even gonna say anything? I’ve done everything you’ve ever asked me. EVERYTHING! I’ve given everything I’ve ever had. And you’re just gonna sit there, you’re gonna watch me die? What the hell kinda father are you?!
John: I have a plan Sam
Sam: That’s exactly my point! Dean is dying, and YOU have a PLAN!
Dean: Dude, I full-on Swayze'd that mother.
Tessa: What’s happening to me? Am I dead?
Dean: Well that sorta depends.
Dean: Have you heard of an out of body experience?
Tessa: What are you, some new agey guy?
Dean: You see me messing with crystals or listening to Yanni?
Sam: Hey, I think maybe you’re around. And if you are, don’t make fun of me for this but um.. there’s one way we can talk. (Pulls out Ouija board)
Dean: Oh you gotta be kiddin me.
Dean: God I feel like I’m at a slumber party.
Demon: Did you, really think you could trap me?
John: Oh I don’t wanna trap you. I wanna make a deal.
Sam: I donno how to help you. But I’ll keep tryin alright? As long as you keep fightin. I mean come on you can’t- can’t leave me here alone with dad we’ll kill each other you know that. Dean you gotta hold on. You can’t go man, not now. We were just startin to be brothers again. Can you hear me?
Tessa: The fight’s over.
Dean: No it isn’t.
Tessa: It is for you.
Tessa: It’s an honorable death. A warrior’s death.
Dean: I think I'll pass on the seventy-two virgin’s thanks. I'm not that into prude chicks anyway.
Tessa: (deadpan) That's funny. You're very cute.
Dean: There’s no such thing as an honorable death. My corpse is gonna rot in the ground and my family is gonna die! No. I’m not goin with you I don’t care what you do.
Tessa: Well, like you said, ‘there’s always a choice’. And I can’t make you come with me, but, you’re not getting back in your body and that’s just facts. So yes, you can stay. And you’ll stay here for years. Disembodied, scared, and over the decades it’ll probably drive you mad. Maybe you’ll even get violent.

John: You shouldn't have had to say that to me, I- I should’ve been saying that to you. You know I put... I put too much on your shoulders, I made you grow up to fast. You know what I noticed while re-watching this... that Sam or John never actually touch Dean... like you'd think they'd touch his hand.... or... ionno.... SOMETHING.. but they don't.. not a THING!
Also, I was thinking how Sam knew that his dad was gonna summon the demon... and how Dean had no memory.... and so Sam knew that his dad died for Dean but he never told Dean that... and at the end of 2x04... when Dean was confessing to Sam about how he shoulda stayed dead..... and Sam knew... but he didn't wanna tell him to hurt his feelings even more... cause Dean already had so much guilt about it. I mean, what I'm saying is pretty much a given.. I'm just piecing this together now that I've re-watched this and it's all coming together nicely.... YAY FOR ME!!!

I think Dean came to that realisation faster than Sam did... Cos he knew he was supposed to die... And hence was dealing with his own mortality once more... On Dean's memory loss... That's just weird to me... I want to hear about WHY he can't remember... If it was demon-related... Or talking-to-a-reaper related... Or if it's going to eventually come together... Or if it's related to the reaper and then being healed... Like, you're not supposed to remember that stuff... While alive... Why ppl who have Near-Death-Experiences can't remember more than A Flash of White Light... That's my opinion. *giggles*

Cos I LOVE them so much!!!! *looking at JDM and heart flutters* Sam knew John was planning to summon the demon, cos Bobby told him... Cos he was going to get the stuff together... From the list John gave to Sam to give to him. I don't think this automatically makes Sam jump to the conclusion that he traded his life for Dean's... It's more a feeling... That inkles at the mind... But you can't REALLY know for sure... Not when it hurts too much to think that... That's why Sam was never going to actually SAY so to Dean.... I think Dean came to that realisation faster than Sam did... Cos he knew he was supposed to die... And hence was dealing with his own mortality once more... On Dean's memory loss...
