Since the events of yesterday and meeting Cody, Gallen was in a foul mood. The rest of the previous day he spent back in his Duplex, reading and waiting for his sister to visit, yet once more she did not come. Night came and Gallen found it hard to sleep again, dozing off every once and a while as he read.
Finally Dawn came and with it a bright new day. The sun was rising, the air was cool; tranquility of this environment made it the ideal for his morning tai chi exercise. Since he was 5 and living in Hong Kong, every morning his tutor would have him up at the crack of dawn performing the motions for Tai chi. When he finally moved to the US, to live with his sister, this daily routine of getting up early and performing the motions of this exercise continued. Now here in what one would see as the ideal place to find inner peace, Gallen begun to prep for another session. He ran back to the lake, though he felt he might meet Cody again, he took the chance. The area was perfect for his exercise. As he got to the lake side, he pulled off his shoes and dug his bare feet in the ground, starting stretch out. For a few hours he worked out his tai chi and then moved ionto practicing his martial arts. He enjoyed working out and as he started to take another stretc he caught a glimpse of something crumpled up by a log. being a curious fellow Gallen made his way to the strange object to find that it was a crumpled up piece of paper. What was written on it he could not make out, nor make senses of.

Richard was making his way along the river after spending the day fishing. By all accounts it was a dismal day of fishing as he hadn't caught anything besides a small sunfish, which he had thrown back. Despite that Richard was in high spirits, the encounter with Cody had cheered him immensely. He still didn't quite know what he was going to about the situation but there would be time for that later.
As Richard exited the forest he saw a young man by the beach. Not really thinking anything of it. he waved and called, "Hey there!" in greeting.

Gallen looked up form the piece of paper and saw the old man. Finally some one normal looking. Judging form what Gallen could make out this was probably one of the lab techs who worked her. He smiled and waved back. “Good Afternoon sir”
You could make out the 5 foot tall man's slight irish/UK accent

Richard stopped and leaned on his cane slightly, his other hand holding both the tackle box and the fishing pole. Richard studied the man for a moment, He was short but unless Moreau was making midgets, unchanged. Could this be the guy Cody told him about.
"Name's Richard. You taking a stroll son?

Gallen smiled and shook his head, "no sir I am practicing my Tai chi, and fighting style" He tucked the paper in his pants pocket as he started to walk towards the older man. "Name Gallen Marcuss. I juts got here two days ago, I take it you work for Feral?"

So it was Gallen! Richard was going to have to straighten this man out and if he had to do it with his cane, so be it.
Grinning at the "work for Feral" comment Richard extended his hand to the small man. "I'm afraid I don't have the honor of working for the labs. I'm a reporter, although it appears I might have been... forcably retired after interviewing Dr. Moreau."
Gallen will notice that Richard while very overweight, is not small in the height department either, standing over six feet tall.

Gallen extended his hand as he smiled, realizing that this man was quite tall. “Oh, I am sorry. You’re a report? Cool, I was studying communication at my college, aimed at being a radio personality and report.” He smiled as he shook the man’s hand, a little intimidated by the man’s height and age. Tall people bugged Gallen, but this guy seemed nice. “Oh so you’re here to do an article on Moreau? That is neat”

Richard's handshake is strong, almost painfully so.
Well that settles that. The man is clueless. Time to be blunt. Without releasing Gallen's hand Richard stepped closer, looming over the smaller man. "Didn't you hear me boy. I've been forceably retired. He won't allow me leave. And your in the same boat."

Gallen looked at the old man blankly. The heck, forcibly retired, what was this guy on about? Gallen noted the firm shake and tired to pull his hand free. “Trapped here? Why would Moreau do that?” He rolled what Richard said in his mind some more, “And why would he force you to retire form your job?”

"Because Dr. Moreau admited to me that he was creating animal- human hybrids, from humans. Everyone in those duplexes are test subject for the experiment. Are you in a duplex? If you are, your a subject. Did you have any injection marks on your body after you got here?" Richard's voice is low and insistant.

Gallen was now confused…again. What was going on first the dolphin boy now this crazy old man. “What are you talking about? Animal-Human Hybrids? If this is some kind of joke it is not funny.” The he saw his sisters face in his mind… Then Cody ”what is she doing here with these people” he said in a low voice. “Yhea I am staying in one the duplexes, they are where the lab techs live, I am here to see my sister who works for Moreau.” Gallen’s voice was harsh, he did not like this. Was what the old man saying a joke.. or was he tricked.

Richard saw the panic creep into Gallen's eyes. He could see denial clouding his mind like a cateract clouds vision. Richard hated it when people refused to see the truth when it was right in front of them. The world could be such a better place if people allowed themself to see the truth of the world and deal with it. There was no sympathy in Richard's heart for those in that were too weak to deal with reality as he saw it.
"There is not a single person in those duplexes that works for them." Richard wasn't entirely sure of that but it sounded good. "You followed someone here? Did you get too close to something Moreau wants hidden? Do you remember Cody? The Dolphin boy? Do you really think that's a deformity? They are doing that to HIM. He lives in one of those duplexes, and I've talked to others, a girl that IS a lizard. I came here to interview Dr. Moreau, he knocked me out and placed me in a duplex, I've been injected with something. I have no idea what. Did you get an injection." The questions were rapid fire, Richard wasn't waiting for answers, he was slamming them into Gallen's skull, hoping to shatter his denial like a glass window.

With each question, Gallen became more agitated. His sister would not have him brought here to be a test subject for some crazy sci-fi experiment. And of course that kid, Cody, tail and all where deformities, right? Galen could not grasp what was the truth, he wanted to keep believing that he was here to see his sister. “That is cracked; my sister would never have me brought here to do such a thing to me. Yes, I got too close to something, I was taping Feral lab’s New York phones, trying to find my sister. She diapered a year ago. Then after all hell broke lose and I was expelled from NYU, Feral came to me and told me it was a misunderstanding and that I could find her here.” Gallen’s voice was loud and angry. Lizard girls and what not could not be real. “And what about Injections, yhea I got one, a ammonization for this tropical climate, it is common you know.”

Richard's brain worked frantitically, trying to piece together all the information Gallen was spewing into what had happened. "Did you ever hear from your sister? Is there any evidence that she's here?" If she was, that would be more interesting but Richard doubted Moreau would have two siblings on the opposite side of the fence. Guilt, was just as powerful as fear. "Think about the labs, all the security. Why would they need that many guards on topical island. Now think about what you did, how they severed all your ties with the world and then bought you here."
Richard released the man and stood tall. "Think about it." He smiled.

Gallen backed away, but at this point what Richard had said, did make senses, though Gallen had not seen all the armed guards. “So this is all a lie? I am sorry I have trouble believing that. Yes I met that boy, Cody, but what says his extra features are not deformities. At the same time you do not work for Feral and are a prisoner here, so you claim. If that is true then why should I trust what you say.” Gallen was sounding much calmer now, but still his heart was racing, could all of what this old man have said be true. Was he brought here to be a prisoner, or worse et a test subject for some crazed doctors experiment. And if he was making Anthroporphs through injections, was the vaccination really one of those injections.
Gallen then remembered what Cody said before he ran off, “I hope they make you a slug.”
“Oh man, I don’t want to be a slug.”
