sometimes it seems like I can increase the intensity or even stop storms... Anyone know anything about this?

When I was little I used to believe that I could control the wind. It seemed that every time I focused on it, I could get a group of leaves to blow around in a circle, or even just get the wind to blow a little bit.

I have heard of people saying that they can control the weather, but to be honest, I really don't think that is entirely possible...or safe.

Think about it this way. If two people are controlling the weather, what does the weather do? Let's assume, for sake of argument, that these two people are in the same town. One is trying to make it rain, the other is trying to make it sunny. What would happen? Would they negate each other? Would it rain and be sunny at the same time (this does actually happen! my grandmother and I call it 'liquid sunshine')

Or think about it from an environmentalists'/geologists' point of view. The weather, for the most part, is controlled by the way the Earth moves. Rain is created by the H2O molecules condensing in the atmosphere. The wind (and cloud movement) plays a big part in other functions on Earth such as oceanic movement and waves (as well as the gravitational pull of the moon). Now, lets say, again, for arguments' sake, that I wanted to bring in a cloud system and make it rain. Well, for one, moving the clouds could create tidal waves in other parts of the world. For two, how difficult do you think it would be to produce H2O molecules in the clouds to rain? Pretty freaking difficult, I think.

Thing is, if you look at things scientifically, things can become seemingly impossible. I'm not going to say that it is. I may just be ill-informed about people's abilities. It is always entirely possible that someone could control the weather (especially being that no one has proved against it yet), but it would be highly improbably.

I hope that sheds some light on the topic...at least a devil's advocate to get a good discussion going. 3nodding

I liked the Marvel Card RPG description about what happens when Storm used her powers. Not only did her actions affect the area she was in, but those around her. She might be able to make it rain in one area, but then inadvertently cause a drought someplace else.

My experience with weather manipulation happened when I was working as a Nanny. It was summer and had been raining lightly most of the morning. But kids had too much energy for staying in the house, so we put on our swim suits and went outside. Some how our running around got turned into a rain dance and chanting little rain themed rhymes. Next thing we knew the rain greatly intensified, and we had to run back inside the house. A few seconds inside and the rain lessened. The kids thought they were the cause and wanted to test out their ability. So out they went again and continued their little dance. Sure enough, it started to rain harder and they ran back inside to watch it lessen again. They tested it out a couple of times before they grew tired of the game and watched some TV.

I've been able to do some myself but very little and it took a lot of concentration. Someone I knew before tho was much better at making it rain or increasing the rain and knowing when it would happen.

I know that once, during a ritual, we called the elements of the West, which are water.....
I think we called them in a bit too strongly as that thunderstorm screamed in so fast we barely had time to take the circle down and get to cover.....
