With and Without
The first time I ever saw my name printed in that stuff you call “fanfiction,” it was spelled “Kuwabaka.” At first, I just thought that it was a typo, because everyone else’s names had been spelled right.
Guess I was wrong.
You guys think I’m really stupid, don’t you? Yeah, sure, I might have been a dummy when the series first started, but now I’m in my last year of high school, and things have changed. A lot. I’m not that idiot who can’t judge his own strength anymore.
You tell me I’m stupid when I’m fighting. But when I fought Byakko and the Toguro brothers, I used my brain. And I doubt any one of you “writers” could’ve done that. It’s not as easy as it looks.
You then tell me I’m weak. So I might not be as strong as Urameshi or Kurama or even the shrimp, but I’ve still got the jigen tou and my usual rei ken. And I bet if you stopped comparing me to them for once, I’d bet you’d think I was powerful.
You tell me I’m useless to the team. I ask you if you’ve ever bothered to take a look at the friendship we all share—including Hiei. He respects me a lot more than you think.
You tell me that no one would miss me if I died. Did you even watch the series? What about when Toguro stuck his fingers in my heart and Urameshi flipped out? Geez, you guys must have selective memories or something.
And without me, a lot of crazy demons wouldn’t be dead.
So does anyone want to take me on? I’m Kuwabara Kazuma, and I’ve got a sword. And a brain.
